These Safety Instructions and Regulatory Notices apply to Technicolor Cable Modems & Gateways.
Using Equipment Safely
Always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury:
- Install the product as described in the included documentation.
- Do not use this product to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
- Avoid using this product during an electrical storm due to a remote risk of electric shock from lightning.

Install and use this product strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions provided in the user documentation. Read this document carefully before installation or use to understand device-specific constraints or rules for your country. Contact your supplier if you have any doubts regarding installation, operation, or safety. Software and Firmware Use
The firmware in this equipment is protected by copyright. Use the firmware only in the provided equipment. Reproduction or distribution of this firmware without express written consent from Technicolor is prohibited. Software described in this document is licensed under an agreement and may only be used or copied according to its terms.
Open Source Software Notification
This product's software may contain open source modules subject to specific license terms. Information on these components, their licenses, and versions is available on Technicolor's website at www.technicolor.com/opensource. Source code for Open Source Software may be available upon request, subject to the terms of the applicable licenses.
Environmental Information
Batteries (if applicable)
Batteries contain hazardous substances and should not be disposed of with regular waste. Dispose of them at special collection points. Recycle or dispose of batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions and local/national regulations.

Refer to the user documentation for detailed information on energy consumption and tips for energy savings. Reading this documentation before use is encouraged to optimize product performance.

Climatic Conditions
This product is intended for stationary indoor use. Maximum ambient temperature should not exceed 40°C (104°F), and relative humidity should be between 20% and 80%. Avoid direct or excessive solar/heat radiation, heat trap conditions, water, or condensation. Install in a Pollution Degree 2 environment (dry, non-conductive pollution). Batteries (if installed) must not be exposed to excessive heat.

Ventilation and Positioning
This product is for indoor residential or office use. Remove all packaging before applying power. Position and use the product only as described in the user documentation. Do not insert objects into openings. Do not block or cover ventilation openings; do not place on soft furnishings or carpets. Ensure 7 to 10 cm (3 to 4 inches) of clearance around the product for proper ventilation. Keep away from heat sources like radiators or stoves. Do not place objects that could spill or drip into the product (e.g., candles, liquids). Protect from dripping, splashing, rain, or moisture. If liquid enters the product or it is exposed to rain/moisture, unplug immediately and contact your supplier.
Cleaning
Unplug the product and disconnect other devices before cleaning. Use a damp cloth; do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
Water and Moisture
Do not use this product near water (e.g., bathtub, sink, wet basement, swimming pool). Condensation may form if the product is moved from a cold to a warm environment. Allow it to dry naturally before use.
Electrical Powering
Power the product according to the specifications on the marking labels. If using a power supply unit:
- For USA and Canada: Use a UL listed Direct Plug-in Power Unit marked "Class 2" with the rating indicated on the product label.
- The power supply unit must be Class II and a Limited Power Source compliant with IEC 60950-1/EN 60950-1, Clause 2.5 or IEC 62368-1/EN 62368-1, Annex Q, and rated as indicated on the product label. It must be tested and approved to national or local standards.
Important: Only use the supplied power supply unit, one provided by your service provider/local supplier, or an approved replacement. Using other types is prohibited. Consult user documentation or your supplier if unsure about the required power supply type.
Accessibility
The power supply cord plug serves as the disconnect device. Ensure the mains supply socket outlet is easily accessible and located close to the product. Power connections must always be accessible for quick and safe disconnection from the mains supply.
Overloading
Do not overload mains supply socket outlets or extension cords to prevent fire or electric shock.
Handling Batteries
This product may contain disposable batteries.
CAUTION
Danger of explosion if batteries are mishandled or incorrectly replaced.
- Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, short external contacts, or dispose of in fire or liquids.
- Insert batteries correctly; incorrect insertion may cause explosion.
- Do not attempt to recharge disposable batteries.
- Follow instructions for charging rechargeable batteries.
- Replace batteries with the same or equivalent type.
- Do not expose batteries to excessive heat (e.g., sunlight, fire) or temperatures above 100°C (212°F).
Cable Distribution
For this apparatus, the cable shield/screen shall be grounded (earthed) as close as practical to the point of entry of the cable into the building. For products sold in the USA and Canada, this is to draw attention to ANSI/NFPA 70, the National Electrical Code (NEC), Section 820.93, Grounding of Outer Conductive Shield of a Coaxial Cable (or Canadian Electrical Code Part 1). The cable distribution system must be grounded in accordance with these codes.
Servicing
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this product. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
Damage Requiring Service
Unplug the product and refer servicing to qualified personnel if:
- The power supply, cord, or plug is damaged.
- Attached cords are damaged or frayed.
- Liquid has spilled into the product.
- The product has been exposed to rain or water.
- The product does not operate normally.
- The product has been dropped or damaged.
- There are signs of overheating.
- The product exhibits a distinct change in performance.
- The product is giving off smoke or a burning smell.
Protecting the Product When Moving
Always disconnect the power source when moving the product or connecting/disconnecting cables.
Interface Classifications
External interfaces are classified as follows:
- Cable (IN/OUT): TNV circuit, not subjected to overvoltages (TNV-1)
- Phone, FXS: TNV circuit, not subjected to overvoltages (TNV-2)
- MoCA, HPNA, RF: TNV circuit, not subjected to overvoltages (TNV-1)
- Other interface ports (e.g., Ethernet, USB), including low voltage power input: SELV (Safety Extra-Low Voltage) circuits.
Regulatory Information
North America - Canada
Radio Frequency Interference: This Class B digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003 and meets applicable Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada technical specifications.
Radiation Exposure: This equipment complies with IC radiation exposure limits for an uncontrolled environment. Maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm between the radiator and your body.
Industry Canada (IC): If equipped with a wireless transceiver, this device complies with Industry Canada's licence-exempt RSSs. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) no interference, and (2) acceptance of any interference received.
Restricted Frequency Bands (Canada): If equipped with a 2.4 GHz wireless transceiver, only channels 1-11 (2412-2462 MHz) may be used. If equipped with a 5 GHz wireless transceiver, it is for indoor use only. Firmware is programmed at the factory to match the intended destination and is not user-accessible.

FCC Radio Frequency Interference Statement: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
