General Warnings
- Risk of Injury: Do not permit children to use this product unless closely supervised at all times. A wire connector is provided to connect to a minimum 8 AWG solid copper conductor between this unit and any metal equipment, metal enclosures of electrical equipment, metal water pipe, or conduit within 5 feet (1.5m) of the unit.
- Risk of Injury: Replace damaged cords immediately. Do not bury cords. Connect to a grounded, grounding-type receptacle only.
- Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI): This product is provided with an integrated GFCI. Test the GFCI before each use. With the product operating, push the test button; the product should not operate. Push the reset button; the product should operate normally. If it fails, there is a ground current indicating a shock hazard. Disconnect power until the fault is corrected.
- Risk of Accidental Drowning: Exercise extreme caution to prevent unauthorized access by children. Ensure children cannot use the spa unless supervised at all times.
- Risk of Injury: Suction fittings are sized to match the flow rate. Ensure replacement fittings have compatible flow rates. Never operate the spa if suction fittings are broken or missing. Never replace a suction fitting with one rated less than the original.
- Risk of Electric Shock: Install at least 5 feet (1.5m) from all metal surfaces. Alternatively, permanently connect each metal surface to the unit's wire connector with a minimum 8 AWG solid copper conductor. Do not permit any electric appliance, such as a light, television, or radio, within 5 feet (1.5m) of the spa.
- Risk of Injury: Spa water should never exceed 104°F (40°C). Water temperatures between 100°F (38°C) and 104°F (40°C) are safe for healthy adults. Lower temperatures are recommended for children and when spa use exceeds 10 minutes.
- Pregnant or possibly pregnant women should limit spa water temperatures to 100°F (38°C) due to the potential for fetal damage.
- Measure water temperature with an accurate thermometer before entering, as device tolerances vary.
- Alcohol, drugs, or medication use before or during spa use may lead to unconsciousness and drowning.
- Obese persons and those with heart disease, high/low blood pressure, circulatory problems, or diabetes should consult a physician before use.
- Persons using medication should consult a physician, as some may cause drowsiness or affect heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation.
- Risk of Electric Shock: Do not use the spa during storms. Never use with a wet plug.
- Hyperthermia Warning: Symptoms include increased body temperature, dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting. Effects include failure to perceive heat, failure to recognize the need to exit, unawareness of impending hazard, fetal damage, physical inability to exit, and unconsciousness leading to drowning. Alcohol, drugs, or medication can increase the risk of fatal hyperthermia.
- Child Safety: Water attracts children. Always attach the spa cover after each use.
- Temperature Warning: Never add water higher than 104°F (40°C) into the spa.
- Consult your physician for recommendations.
Setup and Operation
Pre-Setup:
- Check List: Verify all parts on the package match the model. Visit bestwayusa.com/support for damaged or missing parts.
- Choose Correct Location: Indoor or outdoor, above ground, portable wiring, portable spa. For Wi-Fi spas, refer to the Spa Wi-Fi instruction leaflet.
- For All Spas: The chosen surface must uniformly support the spa's total weight. An adequate drainage system is needed for overflow water. The surface must be flat and smooth. Clear the area of any objects that could damage the bottom. Avoid overhead power lines or trees, and underground utility pipes.
- The selected position should be far from the house entrance. Do not place equipment or furniture around the spa, as water can damage them.
- Do not install on carpet or porous materials that promote moisture and bacteria. Consult local authorities for installation regulations.
- Suggested surfaces: Grass, ground, concrete.
- Not suggested surfaces: Mud, sand, gravel, deck, balcony, driveway, platform, soft/loose soil.
- Indoor Installation: Be aware of humidity. Provide plenty of ventilation. Consult an expert if more ventilation is needed. Keep air treatment suitable for safety and comfort. Empty the spa before removing it from indoors.
- Outdoor Installation: Clear the surface of aggressive plants and weed species. Do not leave the spa exposed to direct sunlight for long periods; use a cover when not in use.
- Consult local professional installers for environmental conditions like groundwater and frost risk.
Installation:
Follow the drawings printed on the package for installation instructions. Drawings are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the actual product. Not to scale.
- Keep the spa away from rest areas to minimize noise. Keep at least 1m clearance around the spa.
- Do not use sea water; it can corrode internal metal components.
- The filtration system is designed for the filter cartridge only. Other components may cause damage.
Inflation Information:
- For inflatable spa liner or cover: Air expulsion from the hose connection is normal. Do not cover inflation hose holes. Do not use an air compressor. Do not drag the pool on rough ground.
- Hand Pump Pressure Gauge (Drop Stitch Spa): Gauge shows pressure > 5 psi. If pressure is lower, the gauge may not show a value.
- Air Valve Check (Drop Stitch Spa): If the air valve is loose, use the provided wrench to fasten it. Hold the backside of the air valve from the inner side of the spa wall and turn the wrench clockwise. Do not adjust the connector when the spa is in use.
