Compatibility Requirements

To ensure proper functionality, your vehicle's head unit must meet the following criteria:

Android Car Radio: The adapter is designed for aftermarket Android car radios. It is not compatible with original factory car screens unless they run a compatible Android OS.
AutoKit APK Installation: The "AutoKit APK" application must be installed on your Android car unit prior to using the adapter.

Checking Your Android Version

Verify your Android car unit's compatibility:

Go to 'Settings' on your car's screen.
Navigate to 'Settings Information' or 'About the device'.
Check the 'Android version'; it must be 4.4.2 or higher.

Important Note: If your car's original screen does not support installing the AutoKit App, or if it is not an Android-based system, this adapter may not be suitable.

Installation and Connection Guide

Follow these steps for installation and connection:

Installing the AutoKit APK

The AutoKit APK is essential. Install it via USB:

Insert the CarlinKit device into your car's USB port.
Wait approximately 30 seconds for a "USB drive icon" to appear on screen.
Use an ES browser or file manager on your car unit to find and install the "BoxHelper APK".

Alternatively, download the APK directly using your car's browser at: http://121.40.123.198:8080/autokit/autokit.apk

Connecting the Adapter

After installing the AutoKit APK:

Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
Connect the CarlinKit device to your car's USB port.
For wireless CarPlay: Pair your iPhone via Bluetooth and connect to the adapter's Wi-Fi.
For wireless Android Auto: Ensure your Android phone supports wireless Android Auto and follow on-screen prompts.

The adapter supports both wireless CarPlay and wired/wireless Android Auto for compatible Android phones.
