[Important] Do not operate the unit with the cover removed. This can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or malfunction.

Disposal of Unused Units:

Dispose of the unit and accessories according to local regulations. Units are made of metal and plastic, and improper disposal can be hazardous.

Power Cord Removal:

[Important] Unplug the power cord from the outlet only when the power lamp is off. Unplugging while the power lamp is on or blinking can lead to data corruption or malfunction.

Moving the Unit:

[Important] Do not move the unit or change its placement while the power lamp is on or blinking, as this can lead to data corruption or malfunction.

Health Precautions

Photosensitive Seizures:

[Warning] Some individuals may experience seizures or other symptoms (e.g., eye pain, visual disturbances, headaches, convulsions, loss of consciousness) when exposed to flashing lights or patterns. If you have a history of epilepsy or seizures, consult a doctor before using the PS5.

Stop Use If You Feel Unwell:

[Caution] If you experience symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, motion sickness, or discomfort/pain in any body part, stop using the PS5 immediately. If symptoms persist after stopping use, consult a doctor.

  • Use the PS5 in a well-lit room and sit at a comfortable distance from the screen.
  • Avoid using the PS5 when tired or sleep-deprived.
  • Take a 15-minute break for every hour of use.
  • Stop using the PS5 immediately if you feel unwell.

Controller Functions:

Users with vibration disorders should disable the controller's vibration (rumble) and trigger effect functions. These can be enabled/disabled via [Settings] > [Peripherals] on the home screen.

Controller Light Bar:

Do not stare continuously at the controller's light bar if it is flashing. If you experience discomfort or pain, stop using the controller immediately.

Headphones and Headsets:

Be mindful of the volume when using headphones or headsets. Listening at high volumes for extended periods can damage your hearing. Sudden loud sounds can also be harmful.

Static Electricity:

Experiencing a slight static shock (e.g., a tingling sensation in the ear) during dry seasons is normal and does not indicate a malfunction of the headphones, headset, or PS5. It is due to static electricity accumulating on the user.

General Usage Precautions

Please use the product according to the usage instructions described in this manual. Disassembling, analyzing, or modifying the product, or using or analyzing copyrighted programs contained within the product's chips without permission is prohibited. Please use the product after understanding these terms.

Condensation:

When bringing the PS5 or discs into a warm environment from a cold one, condensation may form on internal lenses or discs, preventing proper operation. If condensation occurs, remove the disc, turn off the PS5, unplug the power cord, and leave it in a dry place for several hours. If the unit does not operate normally after several hours, contact customer support.

Overheating Message:

This message indicates that the internal temperature of the unit has become too high. Continued use may prevent operation. Turn off the PS5 and let it cool down. Ensure the unit is not placed in a hot location or used with blocked ventilation openings.

Connecting to the Internet:

  • Connect the unit via a router or a LAN port that has router functionality. Other connection methods may pose security risks.
  • For wired internet connections, use equipment certified by the telecommunications carrier.
  • When connecting wirelessly, the system may automatically search for nearby access points. Do not connect to unauthorized access points (e.g., public Wi-Fi services other than your own or authorized ones). Unauthorized connection may be considered illegal access.

Wireless Communication Functionality:

The unit uses 2.4 GHz (WLAN, Bluetooth®) and 5 GHz (WLAN) frequency bands. The 2.4 GHz band is shared by many devices. While the PS5 employs technology to minimize interference from other devices operating on the same frequency, communication speed, range, or connection stability may be affected by other devices.

Controller Handling:

  • Charge the controller in an environment between 10°C and 30°C for optimal performance.
  • Batteries have a limited lifespan and capacity will decrease over time and with use. Lifespan also depends on storage conditions, usage, and environment.
  • To maintain battery function, charge it fully at least once a year, even if not in use.

Care and Maintenance:

For safety, unplug the power cord from the outlet before performing any cleaning.

  • Cabinet: Wipe the exterior (plastic parts of the unit and controller) with a soft, dry cloth. To prevent discoloration or degradation of the surface, avoid spraying insecticides, placing rubber or vinyl products in prolonged contact, or using solvents like thinner, benzine, or alcohol. Do not use chemical cleaning cloths.
  • Ventilation Openings: If dust accumulates, clean it using a vacuum cleaner.
  • Terminals: Ensure terminals on the unit and power cord are clean. Dirty terminals may prevent proper power flow. Wipe with a dry cloth if necessary.

Disc Handling:

  • Handle discs by the edges, avoiding contact with the playing surface. Fingerprints or dust can cause image distortion or reduced sound quality.
  • Do not place discs in locations exposed to direct sunlight or high humidity. Store discs in their cases when not in use.
  • Gently wipe discs from the center outwards with a soft cloth.
  • Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, record cleaners, or anti-static agents, as they may damage the discs.
