Gate Hub Installation Guide

Overview

This document provides instructions for installing the UniFi Gate Hub, a component of the UniFi Access system designed for managing gate and door access.

Step 1: Gather Tools and Components

Tools Required:

• Pencil
• Drill
• Drill bit: Ø6 mm (Ø1/4")
• Hammer
• Screwdriver

Components Included:

• Gate Hub (1x, labeled 'b')

Step 2: Mark and Drill Holes

Use a pencil to mark the desired mounting location on the wall.

Drill a hole with a Ø6 mm (Ø1/4") drill bit at the marked location.

Step 3: Install Anchors and Screws

Insert two wall anchors (labeled 'c', 2x) into the drilled hole.

Insert two M4 screws (labeled 'd', 2x) into the anchors.

Step 4: Mount the Bracket

Attach the mounting bracket to the wall using the screws.

The Gate Hub requires a PoE++ connection for power and data.

Step 5: Attach Gate Hub and Connect Peripherals

Slide the Gate Hub unit (labeled 'a') onto the mounted bracket.

Connect the following peripherals:

• Access Button
• G2 Reader

Step 6: Wiring Connections

The Gate Hub features several terminals for connecting gate and door components:

• GATE OPERATOR: Connect to gate operator terminals.
• GATE EXIT REQUEST: Connect to gate exit request sensor.
• SIDE DOOR LOCK: Connect to side door lock mechanism.
• SIDE DOOR EXIT REQUEST: Connect to side door exit request sensor.
• SIDE DOOR POSITION: Connect to side door position sensor.
• 12V-1A: Power input.
• AUX: Auxiliary connection.
• EMERGENCY: Emergency input.
• RESET: Reset button.

Additionally, connect:

• Door Position Sensor (Supplied by Gate Manufacturer)
• Electric Lock

Network Setup

The UniFi Gate Hub connects to your network as follows:

• Internet
• UniFi Cloud Gateway
• Switching
• PoE++ (Power over Ethernet)

Step 7: Mobile App Setup

Download the UniFi Access mobile application from the App Store or Google Play Store.

The application, labeled "Access", is shown on a smartphone screen.
