2. Basics
The Open/Close Detector consists of:
- RESET Button: Press and hold for over 5 seconds to enter device adding mode.
- Detector: The main unit.
- Magnet: Used with the detector to sense opening and closing.
- LED Indicator: Fast-flashing Blue indicates device adding mode. Fast-flashing Blue once indicates door opening/closing signals triggered.
- Double-sided Tape Protective Film: Applied to the back for mounting.
The base of the detector also features a Detaching Groove.
Get the EZVIZ App
To use the device, connect your mobile phone to Wi-Fi, download and install the EZVIZ app from the App Store or Google Play™, and register an EZVIZ user account.
Note: Ensure you are using the latest version of the app. Check your app store for updates.
Preparations
1. Detach Cover
Detach the cover of the detector at the detaching groove.
2. Remove Insulation Strip
Remove the battery insulation strip as instructed. The detector uses two CR1632 batteries. When replacing batteries, ensure the positive side faces up.
Note: A low battery notification will be sent to the EZVIZ app when the battery level is low.
Add Device
The open/close detector requires an EZVIZ Smart Gateway. First, add the gateway to the EZVIZ cloud, then add the detector to the gateway.
1. Method One: Add by Scanning QR Code
- Log in to your EZVIZ account, tap the device adding icon, and the QR code scanning interface will appear.
- Scan the QR code on the inner side of the detector's cover or in the user manual.
- Place the detector as shown in the figure.
- Replace the cover.
2. Method Two: Add by the Gateway
Place the detector as close to the gateway as possible.
- Follow the gateway's user manual to enter device adding mode on the gateway.
- Press and hold the RESET button on the detector for over 5 seconds until the indicator flashes rapidly blue, indicating it has entered adding mode.
- The detector will be added to the gateway automatically.
Installation
Installation Guidelines:
- Keep the detector away from magnetic fields.
- When doors or windows are closed, the distance between the detector and magnet should be less than 20mm.
- Clean dust from the mounting surface before sticking. Do not stick on limewashed walls.
- Align the installation instruction grooves on the detector and magnet.
- Maximum installation height is 2m.
- Working temperature range: -10°C to 55°C (14°F to 131°F).
Steps:
- Select an installation location.
- Remove the protective film from the back of the detector and fix it in place with the double-sided tape.
- Press the detector firmly for about 20 seconds.
Regulatory Information
CE Marking: This product complies with applicable harmonized European standards under the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU, EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, and RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU.
WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU): Do not dispose of this product as unsorted municipal waste. Return it to your local supplier for recycling or dispose of it at designated collection points. More information is available at www.recyclethis.info.
Battery Directive (2006/66/EC): This product contains a battery. Do not dispose of it as unsorted municipal waste. Return the battery to your supplier or a designated collection point. For battery information, refer to the product documentation. Symbols may indicate Cadmium (Cd), Lead (Pb), or Mercury (Hg).

Power Adapters: Use only power adapters listed in the table. Equipment models and compatible adapter manufacturers/models are specified.

- Warning: To disconnect the device, unplug the DC power terminal.

FCC Information
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
FCC Compliance: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with Class B digital device limits per FCC Rules Part 15. These limits provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. The equipment generates, uses, and radiates radio frequency energy. If not installed and used per instructions, it may cause harmful interference to radio communications. No guarantee of no interference in a particular installation. If interference occurs, try correcting it by reorienting/relocating the antenna, increasing separation, connecting to a different circuit, or consulting a dealer/technician. Maintain a minimum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your body.

Industry Canada ICES-003 Compliance: This device meets CAN ICES-3 (B)/NMB-3(B) standards and Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standard(s). Maintain a minimum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your body.
