System Overview

The diagram illustrates the setup for the iTrans USB32-S with Lenovo ThinkSmart and iShare X integration.

Table Side: Depicts the iTrans USB32-S unit, functioning as a USB share solution with USB 3.2 5Gbps and Auto Switching. It features connections for two USB A to B ports, one USB C to C port, and two USB Host ports. Connected to the USB Host ports are a Speakerphone (INFOBIT iSpeaker M300) and an iShare X unit. An HDMI IN port is also shown. Input devices illustrated include iPad/iOS, Android tablet, and Windows/mac computers.

Display Side: Shows a Room Display connected via HDMI OUT. It displays a Camera+ Speaker+ Mic unit (INFOBIT iCam VB50), a USB Touch interface, and a PTZ Camera (INFOBIT iCam P10).

Integration & VC Systems: The iShare X facilitates BYOD/BYOM. The system supports various videoconferencing platforms, including Lenovo ThinkSmart, Yealink, Logitech, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Poly.

Challenges we are facing today.

Cross-VC platform meetings

Employees and guests are often invited to online meetings across various platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, BlueJeans, GoToMeeting, Skype, Webex, Google Meet, StarLeaf, Lifesize, etc.). IT departments must ensure that meeting rooms provide access to high-quality USB devices, enabling control and connection of all conferencing equipment (cameras, microphones, speakers) without latency, allowing users to easily switch between USB devices from the Room PC/console to their own laptop.

Wireless BYOD

Another challenge is enabling guests or colleagues to easily use their own laptops with Teams or the videoconferencing system (e.g., Webex or Zoom Rooms), while simultaneously controlling the room's cameras, microphones, and speakers. This also includes the frequent need to share mobile phones or tablets to the room screen, ensuring fluidity and fairness in videoconference meetings, which is the essence of meeting equity.

The iTrans USB32-S USB 3.2 switcher manages and connects all conferencing equipment in a room, such as cameras, microphones, and speakers, without latency, enabling seamless switching between USB devices from the Lenovo ThinkSmart to the user's laptop. This eliminates the frustration of slow or incompatible equipment, ensuring a high-quality AV experience that enhances understanding, engagement, and interaction.

INFOBIT iShare X, a wireless conferencing and presentation system, offers a hassle-free way to enhance meetings, collaboration, and learning. Users can easily "plug and play" their devices. To connect the system to the laptop videoconference system, the iTrans USB32-S is used to transfer all USB devices to the laptop via iShare X, activated by a simple click on the auto-switching button.

MTR/ Zoom Room -Mode:

The connected HDMI cable to the Lenovo ThinkSmart can be used to share the laptop onto the screen or share to the far-end.

BYOD-Mode:

The single USB A to B cable connects the USB-based video conference equipment directly to the laptop, allowing users to run a local video conference call with any VC-platform, without limitation to only MTR or Zoom. The laptop gains screen sharing and full access to room VC devices like cameras, touch control, microphones, and speakerphones, using the same Room display. Users can also make wireless presentations from their BYOD devices, including PCs, dongles, smartphones, tablets, or Google Chrome.
