Gas Heating Unit Wiring Diagram
Component Identification and Wiring
This section details the electrical components and their connections for a gas heating unit. The diagram illustrates the flow of power and control signals.
Key Components:
- Inducer Motor: Provides combustion air.
- Ignitor: Ignites the gas burners.
- Flame Sensor: Detects the presence of a flame.
- Gas Valve (GV1): Controls the flow of natural gas to the burners.
- Limit Switches (S102, S128): High and low pressure switches for safety monitoring.
- Rollout Switch (S47): Safety switch to detect overheating.
- Door Interlock (S51): Safety switch that prevents operation when the access door is open.
- Integrated Control (A92): The main control board managing unit operation.
- Transformer (T1): Steps down voltage for control circuits.
- Thermostat Connections: Terminals for connecting a room thermostat (S1) and outdoor sensors.
- Blower Motor: Circulates heated air.
- Humidifier Connections: Terminals for optional humidifier control.
Wiring Notes:
Line Voltage Field Installed: Indicates connections made by the installer.
Class II Voltage Field Wiring: Indicates low voltage control wiring.
Denotes Optional Components: Symbols or labels indicating parts that may not be present in all configurations.
Grounding: Unit must be grounded in accordance with national and local codes. [electrical-plug] WARNING: Electric shock hazard, can cause injury or death.
Wire Replacement: If any wire is replaced, it must be replaced with wire of like size, rating, insulation thickness, and termination. [recycle-symbol]
Configuration and Settings
Model: EL297UH135XV60DK
Form No: 538497-02
Blower Speed Chart:
Furnace Model | Circulator Motor Size | Factory Default Settings | Heat/Cool Adjust Limits |
---|---|---|---|
135XV60D | 1 HP | HIGH | Program unit capacity/size |
Note: See installation instructions for procedure to set correct blower speed for specific cooling tonnage and desired heating temperature rise.
Thermostat Settings:
Thermostat Heat Anticipation Setting: Varies based on valve type (65 AMP Resideo Valve, 0.43 AMP White Rodgers Valve).
DIP Switch: Factory default is for a two-stage thermostat.
Special Configurations:
- W914 Jumper: Used for "DEHUM OR HARMONY" when used with Comfortsense 7000 Thermostat.
- W951 Jumper: Used for "HEAT PUMP" applications in dual fuel systems.
- W915 Jumper: Factory installed for single-stage cooling thermostats. Cut for two-stage cooling thermostats.
- L13: Used on 3/4 and 1 HP units only.
- icomfort Thermostat: Specific terminals (DH, L) are used for icomfort systems. Refer to icomfort installation instructions for communicating systems.
Safety and Installation Information
General Warnings:
- WARNING: Cut W914 jumper labeled "DEHUM OR HARMONY" from DS to R at A92 control board when used with Comfortsense 7000 Thermostat.
- WARNING: Cut W951 jumper from O to R, labeled "HEAT PUMP", at A92 control board when used for dual fuel applications.
- WARNING: Jumper W915 from Y1 to Y2 is factory installed at A92 control board. Leave in for one stage cool thermostat. Cut jumper Y1 to Y2 for two stage cool thermostat.
- WARNING: L13 used on 3/4 and 1 HP only.
- WARNING: Use copper conductors only.
- WARNING: Discharge and outdoor air terminals are for icomfort use only.
- WARNING: Thermostat connections are for non-communicating system only.
- WARNING: DH and L terminals are only used with icomfort thermostat.
Note: Typical system shown for 2 heat/2 cool with a conventional thermostat. See installation instructions for connections to other equipment and accessories.
