All-In-One Washer/Dryer Safety
Your safety and the safety of others are very important. Always read and obey all safety messages.
The safety alert symbol ⚠️ indicates potential hazards that can kill or hurt you and others. Safety messages will follow this symbol and either the word "DANGER" or "WARNING." These words mean:
- DANGER: You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't immediately follow instructions.
- WARNING: You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't follow instructions.
WARNING: Risk of Fire
- Clothes dryer installation must be performed by a qualified installer.
- Install the clothes dryer according to manufacturer's instructions and local codes.
- To reduce the risk of severe injury or death, follow all installation instructions.
- Save these instructions.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (Washer)
- Do not wash articles previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gasoline, dry-cleaning solvents, other flammable, or explosive substances.
- Do not add gasoline, dry-cleaning solvents, or other flammable substances to the wash water.
- Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a hot water system that has not been used for 2 weeks or more. HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE. If the hot water system has not been used for such a period, before using the washing machine, turn on all hot water faucets and let the water flow from each for several minutes. This will release any accumulated hydrogen gas. As the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame during this time.
- Do not allow children to play on or in the washer. Close supervision of children is necessary when the washer is used near children.
- Before the washer is removed from service or discarded, remove the door or lid.
- Do not reach into the washer if the drum, tub or agitator is moving.
- Do not install or store the washer where it will be exposed to the weather.
- Do not tamper with controls.
- Do not repair or replace any part of the washer or attempt any servicing unless specifically recommended in this manual or in published user-repair instructions that you understand and have the skills to carry out.
- See "Electrical Requirements" located in the installation instructions for grounding instructions.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (Dryer)
- Do not place items exposed to cooking oils in your dryer. Items contaminated with cooking oils may contribute to a chemical reaction that could cause a load to catch fire. To reduce the risk of fire due to contaminated loads, the final part of a tumble dryer cycle occurs without heat (cool down period). Avoid stopping a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.
- Do not dry articles previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gasoline, dry-cleaning solvents, or other flammable or explosive substances.
- Do not allow children to play on or in the dryer. Close supervision of children is necessary when the dryer is used near children.
- Before the dryer is removed from service or discarded, remove the door to the drying compartment.
- Do not reach into the dryer if the drum is moving.
- Do not install or store the dryer where it will be exposed to the weather.
- Do not tamper with controls.
- Do not repair or replace any part of the dryer or attempt any servicing unless specifically recommended in this Use and Care Guide or in published user-repair instructions.
- Do not use fabric softeners or products to eliminate static unless recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not use heat to dry articles containing foam rubber or similarly textured rubber-like materials.
- Keep area around the exhaust opening and adjacent surrounding areas free from the accumulation of lint, dust, and dirt.
- The interior of the dryer and exhaust vent should be cleaned periodically by qualified service personnel.
- See "Electrical Requirements" located in the installation instructions for grounding instructions.
When discarding or storing your old clothes dryer, remove the door.

Cycle Guides
Select the optimal wash cycle by first determining the items to wash ("What to Wash") and then how you want them washed ("How to Wash").
Choosing the Right Detergent
Use only High Efficiency (HE) detergents, marked "HE" or "High Efficiency." Non-HE detergents can cause excessive sudsing, longer cycle times, reduced rinsing performance, and potential component malfunction. HE detergents should be low-sudsing and quick-dispersing.
About Detergent Concentration
Concentrated HE detergents may show their concentration level on the bottle. If not, calculate by dividing package size (fl oz) by the number of loads. Adjust the concentration level setting on the washer/dryer using the Tools button.
Using the Dispensers
Follow instructions for adding HE detergent (bulk or single load) and liquid fabric softener. Ensure Load & Go™ dispensers are disabled if using single-dose packets. Do not add single-dose packets, Oxi-type boosters, color-safe bleach, or scented crystals to dispensers.
Using the All-In-One Washer/Dryer
First Wash Cycle without Laundry: Run a cycle with no clothes using HE detergent to ensure the interior is clean.
- Sort and Prepare Laundry: Sort by cycle, water temperature, and colorfastness. Separate soiled from lightly soiled, and delicates from sturdy fabrics. Treat stains promptly and check colorfastness. Empty pockets. Close zippers, fasten hooks, tie strings. Mend rips. Turn knits inside out. Separate lint-takers from lint-givers. Do not dry garments with remaining stains. Follow fabric care labels.
- Add Laundry Products: Add single-dose packets, Oxi-type boosters, color-safe bleach, or scented crystals to the drum before loading items. Disable bulk dispensers if using packets.
- Load Laundry: Place items loosely in the drum. Do not overfill. Mix large and small items. Avoid washing single items. Wash small items in mesh garment bags.
- Add HE Detergent: Use the Load & Go™ bulk dispenser or the single-load dispenser. Adjust the selector for liquid or powdered detergent.
- Add Liquid Fabric Softener: Use the fabric softener compartment in the single-load dispenser. Do not overfill.
- Add Liquid Chlorine Bleach: Use the bleach compartment in the single-load dispenser. Do not overfill.
- Touch POWER Button: Turn on the washer/dryer.
- Select Wash Program/Cycle: Use the "What to Wash" and "How to Wash" selections on the LCD screen.
- Adjust Temperature and Spin Speed: Select desired temperature and spin speed settings.
- Select Drying Function: Choose Automatic Drying or Timed Drying. For Automatic Drying, select Damp Dry, Dry, or Extra Dry. For Timed Drying, select time increments (60-240 min). Expect longer drying times than with traditional vented dryers.
- Select Options: Adjust Soil Level, Extra Rinse, Pre-Soak, FanFresh®, or Wrinkle Shield™ as needed.
- Use Tools Button: Access other settings, utility cycles, preferences, and Wi-Fi settings.
- Touch and Hold START/PAUSE: Begin the cycle. The door locks, and the washer/dryer senses load size. You may add garments when "Add Garment" appears on the display.
- Touch POWER Button: Turn off the washer/dryer after the cycle ends.
Remove Garments Promptly: Remove garments after wash-only cycles to avoid odor and rusting. Remove after wash-and-dry or dry-only cycles to reduce wrinkling. Use FanFresh® or Wrinkle Shield™ if immediate removal is not possible.
Setting a Delayed Start: Touch the clock icon on the screen to select a preferred start time (up to 8 hours in 15-minute increments).
All-In-One Washer/Dryer Maintenance
Cleaning the Washer/Dryer Location: Keep the area clear for proper airflow.
Washer/Dryer Care
- Always use HE detergents and follow manufacturer instructions for amount.
- Use warm or hot water washes sometimes to better control soil and detergent accumulation.
- Leave the door slightly ajar between uses to help dry out the interior and prevent odor buildup.
- Periodically clean residue from interior surfaces, especially the inside of the door.
Cleaning the Door Seal:
Inspect the gray seal for stains, soil, or lint. Wipe with an affresh® Machine Cleaning Wipe or a dilute bleach solution (3/4 cup bleach to 1 gallon warm water). Rinse and dry.
Cleaning the Inside of the Washer/Dryer:
Use the "Clean Washer with affresh®" cycle monthly or every 30 wash cycles. Add an affresh® Washer Cleaner tablet to the drum (not the dispenser). Select FanFresh® to help dry the interior.
Chlorine Bleach Procedure: Alternatively, use the "Clean Washer with affresh®" cycle with 3/4 cup of liquid chlorine bleach in the bleach and fabric softener compartments.
Cleaning the Dispensers:
Remove the dispenser drawer and wipe with an affresh® Machine Cleaning Wipe or damp cloth. For Load & Go™ bulk dispenser, remove the container and rinse with warm water.
Cleaning the Outside of the Washer/Dryer:
Wipe with an affresh® Machine Cleaning Wipe or a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products.
Clean Washer Cycle Reminder: The "Clean Washer with affresh®" message will flash after 30 wash cycles as a reminder.
Cleaning the Drain Pump Filter/Draining Residual Water:
Occasionally open the dispenser drawer to access the filter. Place a container beneath it. Release the black hose, remove the plug, and drain water. Remove the filter by turning counterclockwise. Clean lint from the filter and rinse. Reinsert the filter clockwise. Replace and close the dispenser drawer.
Water Inlet Hose: Replace inlet hoses every 5 years to prevent failure. Inspect hoses periodically.
