Coffee Requirements:
- Use freshly ground, deep-roasted coffee beans (French or espresso roast recommended).
- Freshly ground coffee maintains aroma and quality.
- Pre-ground coffee is best used within 7-8 days when stored in a sealed container in a cool place. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
Operation
Install the Grinder:
- Insert the cutter head into the coffee machine and tighten clockwise. Place the hopper on top.
- Align the hopper with the grooves in the coffee machine, press down, and rotate clockwise to install.
Grind Size:
- Adjust the grinding degree on the hopper for consistent, high-quality coffee grounds. Markings on the hopper indicate grind size (Coarse to Fine).
- For freshly roasted beans (up to 1 month old), set the grinder between 5 and 10.
- Ground coffee should resemble salt.
- Fine grounds may cause intermittent flow; coarse grounds may lead to quick water flow, affecting aroma and taste.
- Do not overfill the hopper to prevent beans from getting wet.
- Align the setting on the hopper with the correct marking for your preferred grind size.
Modes:
- Preheat Mode: Press the power button. The power indicator flashes slowly during preheating.
- Standby Mode: After preheating, indicators (Power, Grind, Single, Double, Hot water) illuminate solidly.
- Sleep Mode: The machine enters sleep mode after 20 minutes of inactivity. Press the power button to reactivate.
Make Espresso Coffee:
- Ensure the hopper is installed correctly. The grind indicator will turn solid when ready.
- Add coffee beans to the hopper, avoiding overfilling.
- Place the appropriate filter (single or double cup) into the portafilter and insert into the bracket.
- Press the 'Grind' button for single (1 press) or double (2 presses) cup grinding. Grinding stops automatically based on set amount (9 seconds for single, 13 seconds for double).
- Remove the portafilter and tap gently to distribute grounds.
- Use the tamper to apply approximately 12.5kg of force.
- Align the portafilter with the coffee outlet and lock it anti-clockwise.
- Place a cup on the cup holder.
- Press 'Single' or 'Double' to brew. The machine stops dispensing when the set level is reached (approx. 30ml for single, 60ml for double) and enters standby mode.
Notes:
- Preheating the machine before extraction improves coffee temperature.
- For pre-ground coffee, use 13g for a single cup and 18g for a double cup.
Boil Hot Water:
- Place a cup under the steam tube.
- Turn the knob to 'Hot water'. The hot water indicator flashes, and hot water dispenses from the nozzle.
- Turn the knob to the centre to stop. The hot water indicator illuminates solidly, and the machine enters standby mode.
Notes:
- Maximum hot water output is ≥170ml.
- Use a sufficiently large container.
- Supervise the machine during hot water dispensing.
- Always return the knob to the centre after use. Failure to do so may cause indicators to flash rapidly and an alarm to sound.
- Rapid flashing of Power, Grind, Single, Double indicators indicates low water level. Refill the water tank.
Froth Milk:
- Fill the milk pitcher with 100ml (quarter full) for cappuccino or 150ml (third full) for latte. Place under the steam tube.
- Turn the knob to 'Steam'. The steam indicator illuminates during preheating and flashes when steam is ready.
- Tilt the pitcher and position the steam tube so the end is 1cm under the milk surface.
- Turn the knob to the centre when milk is frothed.
Notes:
- Steam is hot; handle the steam tube with care.
- For best results, let steam run for 3-5 seconds, turn knob to centre, extend steam tube into milk, then turn knob to 'Steam'.
- Maximum frothing time is 5 minutes. If the knob is not returned to centre, the steam indicator flashes and the machine stops operating.
