Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- 1) No Voice Recordings: If the screen displays "no voice recordings" or "no songs," simply press REC or M to begin.
- 2) Turn Off the Record Light: Navigate to Menu -> Record Setting -> Record LED -> select OFF.
- 3) Format Error: This can occur if the POWER button is turned off during recording or if recordings are less than 5 seconds. Save recordings by pressing STOP before powering off. Use MP3 format for better computer compatibility. For WAV files on Windows 10/MAC, use media players like MplayerX or VLC.
- 4) Disk Error: Caused by power loss during formatting or static shock. To rescue, keep the power button OFF, connect to a Windows computer, and format the recorder disk.
- 5) Failed to Connect to Computer: Ensure the recorder is turned OFF before connecting. Do not press any buttons on the recorder while connected, as this may cause it to only charge. Try a different USB socket or cable. Contact support if issues persist.
- 6) Can Recordings Be Deleted from the Computer?: Yes. Recordings are in the "RECORD" folder on the "L157" drive. Files can be deleted or copied to other storage.
- 7) Buttons Do Not Work When Connected to Computer: The recorder is in connection mode. Press and hold the M button to exit connection mode and restore button functionality.
- 8) Cannot Find My Recordings: The device may default to the Music Folder. Press STOP to switch to the RECORD folder. Check computer connection if still not found.
- 9) Turn On Voice Activated Function (AVR): Go to Menu -> Record Setting -> Voice Activated Setting -> select AVR mode ON. The screen will show "VOR".
- 10) How to Use AVR Mode: The device records only when sufficient sound is detected. Adjust sensitivity (Level 1-5) in Record Settings. Note: Use regular recording for important events to ensure all audio is captured.
- 11) Recorder Not Recording: Check if the REC light is blinking and if "VOR" is displayed. If so, AVR mode is active and requires a loud sound to start recording. Adjust sensitivity or turn off AVR mode.
- 12) Playback in Random Order: Go to Play Settings -> Play Mode and ensure "Shuffle" is set to OFF.
- 13) How to Use the A-B Repeat Function: During playback, press M. "A" will flash; select the start point. Press M again, select "B" for the end point. The section between A and B will repeat.
- 14) The Recording Has Unwanted Noise: Avoid recording near sources of interference like computers, fans, or air conditioners, as the recorder may pick up static noise.
- 15) The Recorder Auto Shuts Down While Recording: This is likely due to the Sleep Timer function being active. Disable it in System Settings -> Sleep Timer -> OFF. Alternatively, restore factory settings.
- 16) Cannot Shut Off My Voice Recorder: When charging or connected to a computer, the device may remain powered on even if the POWER button is OFF. This is normal as it draws power directly.
- 17) How to Format the Recorder: Navigate to Menu -> System Setting -> Format Device -> Format Disk -> select Yes and confirm with M. This erases all data. Do not turn off power during formatting.
- 18) Space is Full: Connect to a computer, back up recordings, and then delete files from the recorder to free up space.
