Product Overview

The MEAN WELL XTR-240 series is a 240W AC/DC 3-phase input ultra-slim industrial DIN rail power supply. It features a narrow 48mm casing for optimized system installation space, high efficiency up to 93.5%, and low standby power consumption (<2.5W). The series offers constant current with up to 150% peak power capability, a fanless design, and an ultra-wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C. It complies with OVCIII, offers parallel function capability up to 960W (by request), ultra-low inrush current (<10A), and includes built-in DC OK and optional ORing FET. The internal PCB coating provides basic moisture and dust protection, and multiple terminal block options are available. With comprehensive protection functions, complete safety certifications, and a 5-year warranty, the XTR-240 series is a compact, high-performance, and reliable DIN rail power supply.

Derating Curve

Suitable for 320Vac-380Vac System: Shows load percentage vs. ambient temperature for three-phase and dual-phase operation. Dual phase operating temperature is between -30°C~+85°C.

Suitable for 380Vac-600Vac System: Shows load percentage vs. ambient temperature for three-phase and dual-phase operation. Dual phase operating temperature is between -30°C~+85°C.

Output Derating VS Input Voltage

Shows load percentage vs. input voltage for three-phase and dual-phase operation. Note: When ambient temperature is between -30°C~-10°C and unit is operated in dual-phase input mode, power supply can be loaded but might experience hiccup at cold start for 5~10 seconds.

Peak Power

The XTR-240 series supports peak power capability. The formula for average output power (Pav) is given by: Pav = [Ppk x t + Pnpk x (T-t)] / T, where Ppk is peak output power, Pnpk is non-peak output power, t is peak power width, and T is the period. The duty cycle (t/T) must be less than 35%, and the peak power width (t) must be less than 5 seconds. For example, a 24V model with Vin = 400V and a duty cycle of 10% can achieve a peak output power of 360W, with a minimum period of 50 seconds.

Parallel Use (By request)

The XTR-240 series has a built-in active current sharing function and can be connected in parallel, up to 4 units, to provide higher output power. Key requirements include: difference of output voltages among parallel units should be less than 0.2V; total output current must not exceed 0.9 times the rated current per unit multiplied by the number of units; minimum output load should be greater than 5% of total output load; P+ and P- lines should be twisted in pairs.

Protection Against Inverse Reverse From The Load (By request)

This feature prevents PSU damage from back electromagnetic force during deceleration of a motor or inductive load. The table below shows the maximum allowable reverse voltage for each model:
