Getting Started
Connection and Preparation:
Connect the power adapter to the device and plug it into a power socket. Pull out the rod DAB/FM antenna for reception.
Connecting to the Network:
A broadband internet connection and a wireless access point are required. Ensure your network supports WEP, WPA, or WPA2 security. The WPS function can simplify the pairing process.
Connecting the Line Out:
Use a standard audio cable to connect the line out socket to an external device.
Connecting the Headphones:
Insert a standard 3.5 mm headphone plug into the headphone socket. Lower the volume before connecting headphones.
General Device Functions
Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button to switch the device on or off.
Mode Selection: Use the MODE button or the knob to select desired modes.
Menu Operation: Press the MENU/INFO button to access the menu. Use the knob or navigation buttons to select options and press OK to confirm.
Volume Control: Rotate the volume knob or use the +/- buttons on the remote control to adjust volume.
Presets: Store and recall favorite radio stations using the FAV/BT PAIR button.
Now Playing Information: Press MENU/INFO or INFO to view station details.
First-Time Setup
Follow the on-screen prompts to select the menu language, set the date and time, and configure network settings. You can choose to synchronize time from DAB, FM, or Network, or set it manually.
Mode Selection
Internet Radio, Podcasts: Access thousands of radio stations and podcasts globally via an internet connection.
Spotify Connect: Use your phone, tablet, or computer as a remote control for Spotify. Visit spotify.com/connect for more information.
USB: Play audio files from a USB stick. Browse folders using the navigation controls.
DAB+ Radio
Receive DAB/DAB+ digital radio. Perform a full scan or manual tune to find available stations. Customize station list order and dynamic range compression settings.
FM Radio
Receive analogue radio from the FM band. Scan for stations and adjust audio settings for optimal listening, such as stopping only at strong signal stations or listening in mono for weak stations.
Bluetooth
Pair your Bluetooth-enabled device with the JVC RA-E981B for wireless audio streaming. Control playback using your Bluetooth device or the remote control.
Auxiliary Input (AUX IN)
Connect external audio sources via the AUX IN socket and adjust volume accordingly.
Sleep and Alarm Functions
Sleep: Set a sleep timer for automatic shut-off.
Alarm: Configure up to two wake-up alarms with snooze functionality.
UNDOK App
Control your JVC RA-E981B remotely using the UNDOK app available for iOS and Android devices. Ensure your device and smartphone/tablet are on the same Wi-Fi network.
System Settings
Customize equalizer presets, network settings, time/date formats, language, and perform factory resets. Software updates are available for improved performance.
Maintenance and Cleaning
