Steinel CAM App Installation Guide
The Steinel CAM will be ready for use after just a few steps.
1. Installing the Steinel CAM App
The Steinel CAM App can be installed on the following operating systems:
- Apple iOS (min. iOS 9.3 – iPhone 5s)
- Android (min. Android 5.0.1 – Samsung Galaxy S4)
App Download Options:
- Scan the QR code provided for Android or Apple iOS.
- Search for "Steinel CAM" in the Google Play Store (Android) or the Apple App Store (Apple).
- Download the Steinel CAM app directly.

2. Mounting and Booting the Device
- Mount the device in the desired position in accordance with the operating instructions.
- Open the Status LED cover. Refer to the device operating instructions for details.
Establish electrical supply:
- The device boots up.
- The light comes on.
- An acoustic signal sounds every 4 seconds.
- The Status LED flashes red.

3. Starting the Steinel CAM App
To start using the Steinel CAM app:
- Establish a connection to your WLAN network via your smartphone or tablet.
- Start the Steinel CAM App.

Important: The Steinel CAM device and your smartphone or tablet must be connected to the same WLAN network.
4. Adding the Steinel CAM
For the first-time installation of a new device:
- Click on the large "+" symbol on the app's home screen.

The Steinel CAM is equipped with a powerful WLAN network antenna, which may provide a greater network range than your smartphone or tablet. For optimal configuration, hold your smartphone or tablet close to the router.
5. Establishing Network Access
The name of your WLAN network router will be displayed in the "WiFi" field during the configuration process.

If the name of the WLAN network router is not displayed:
- Enable location sharing for the Steinel CAM App.
- Check to ensure that your smartphone or tablet is connected to the correct WLAN network.
Enter your WLAN network router password in the Steinel CAM App.
- Click on the eye symbol [?️] to make the password visible.
- Check the password for accuracy.
- Click on "Continue" [▶️].

6. Connecting the Device to the Network
While the device and WLAN router are connecting:
- An acoustic signal sounds every second.
- The Status LED flashes green in rapid succession.
Once the smartphone or tablet is connected with the device:
- An "Acoustic melody" sounds.
- The Status LED slowly flashes green.

If the configuration process fails:
- Check and rule out each of the possible causes of error specified in the Steinel CAM App.
To restart the installation process:
- Wait until the device starts to issue acoustic signals every 4 seconds again.
- Repeat the process starting from "Adding the Steinel CAM" (refer to Figure 4.1).

7. Configuring the Device
Once the connection has been established successfully, the user interface will be displayed.
- Play back live image.
- Assign a password for the device.
- Confirm the password.

Password Requirements: The device password must contain at least 8 characters and include one letter and one number.
8. Device Ready for Operation
The Steinel CAM device is now ready for use.
