Rear Panel Interface
The rear panel provides various input and output connections:
- Outputs: Balanced XLR (Left/Right), Single-ended RCA (Left/Right).
- Digital Inputs: USB (Type B), Coaxial, AES, Optical, LAN, IIS (G/M*), 10MHz IN (Clock Input).
- Other: Trigger Input/Output (12V), TF Card Slot, Firmware Update Port, Power Input, Fuse, Voltage Selector (115V/230V).
Important Note: When switching the 220V/110V voltage selector, ensure both switches are set to the same voltage to prevent damage to the internal transformer.
Display Introduction
The X30 uses a large OLED display for real-time status and operation.
- Input Channel: Displays the currently selected input source.
- External Clock Display: Indicates if an external clock source is used.
- Encoding Format: Shows the audio codec (e.g., DSD).
- Sample Rate: Displays the audio sample rate (e.g., 22.4M).
- Volume: Shows the current volume level.
Input Channel Selection: The X30 has 7 input channels. Press the gear button (⚙️) to cycle through COAX, AES, OPT, USB, STREAMER, IIS(G), and IIS(M*).
Volume Adjustment (VOLUME): Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the analog volume. Volume can be attenuated from 00dB down to -90dB. Pressing "+" at 00dB engages the fixed output mode (FIXED), bypassing volume control.
Settings Menu
Access the settings menu by long-pressing the gear button (⚙️) on the front panel. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to navigate and adjust settings.
Menu Structure:

USB Driver Installation on Windows
This section guides you through installing the necessary USB drivers for Windows systems.
- The driver is compatible with various Windows versions (7 SP1+, 8, 10, 11).
- MAC OS systems have built-in drivers.
- Drivers can be found on the included CD or downloaded from www.gustard.cn.
- For desktop users, it is recommended to use native USB 2.0 ports, preferably on the rear of the computer.
- Connect the X30 via USB, power it on, and Windows should detect the new hardware. Follow the on-screen prompts.
- Run the installer executable (e.g.,
Gustard_UsbAudio_v4.82.0_setup.exe
) and follow the installation wizard steps (Next, Install, Finish). - If prompted by User Account Control, click "Yes".
- If a "Setup requires that the device is..." error appears, try reconnecting the USB cable or restarting the device.
Foobar2000 Setup for DSD Hardware Decoding
This guide explains how to configure Foobar2000 for DSD hardware decoding using the Gustard X30.
- Install ASIO Proxy: Run the
ASIOProxyInstall-0.7.2.exe
installer from the provided folder. - Open Foobar2000 Preferences: Launch Foobar2000 and go to
File
>Preferences
. - Install Components: In the Preferences window, navigate to
Components
. ClickInstall...
and select the ASIO and SACD components (e.g.,foo_out_asio.fb2k-component
andfoo_input_sacd.fb2k-component
) from thefoobar2000_DSD_0.7.X
folder. ClickApply
. Foobar2000 may prompt for a restart. - Configure ASIO Output: Go to
Playback
>Output
>ASIO
. SelectASIO: foo_dsd_asio
as the device. Adjust buffer length if necessary. - Configure SACD Output: Go to
Tools
>SACD
. SetOutput Mode
toDSD
.
Troubleshooting:
- ASIO option missing: Ensure the ASIO component is installed correctly. Drag and drop
foo_out_asio.fb2k-component
into the Components list if it's not detected. - SACD option missing: Ensure the SACD component (e.g.,
foo_input_sacd.fb2k-component
) is installed. - Playback errors: This can occur due to version conflicts between ASIOProxy and SACD components. Ensure you are using compatible versions (e.g., ASIOProxy v0.7.2 with SACD component v0.7.8). If issues persist, consider reinstalling Foobar2000 or using older/newer versions of components as suggested in the manual.
