RG10 Series Wireless Remote Controller

Introduction

This service manual provides the necessary information to use the service functions on the RG10 series wireless remote controller. Use the TABLE OF CONTENTS to locate a desired topic.

Remote Controller Models

The RG10 series includes several models of wireless remote controllers. Figures and descriptions are provided below:

Handling the Remote Controller

Remote Controller Location

Keep the remote controller within a distance where its signals can reach the indoor unit's receiver (not to exceed 26 ft. (8m)).

Replacing Batteries

The remote controller uses two alkaline dry batteries (AAA).

1. Slide the battery compartment cover off, according to the arrow direction, then replace the old batteries with new batteries.
2. Insert the new batteries. Ensure the batteries are installed correctly, based on their (+) and (-) polarities.
3. Slide the battery compartment cover back into position.

NOTES:

• Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types.
• Do not leave the batteries in the remote controller if the remote is not going to be used for 2 or 3 months.
• Dispose old batteries in the appropriate recycle bins.

Function Buttons

Before you use your new system, familiarize yourself with the remote controller. The following is a brief introduction of the remote controller.

ON/OFF

Turns the unit on or off. ?

TEMP ⬆️ / ⬇️

Increases or decreases temperature in 1°F (0.5°C) increments.

Max. temperature is 86°F (30°C).

Min. temperature is 60°F (16°C).

NOTE: Press TEMP ⬆️ and TEMP ⬇️ buttons together for 3 seconds to alternate the temperature display between °C and °F.

SET

Scrolls through operation functions as follows:

• Breeze away()
• Active clean()
• Fresh()
• Sleep()
• Follow Me(8)
• AP mode ()
• Breeze away()

The selected symbol flashes on the display area. Press the OK button to confirm.

MODE

Scrolls through operation modes as follows: AUTO ➡️ COOL ➡️ DRY ➡️ HEAT ➡️ FAN.

Eco Intelligent eye: Use to detect inhabitant's activities in the room to save energy.

OK

Use to confirm the selected functions.

TIMER

Set the timer to turn the unit on or off.

ECO/GEAR

Press to enter the energy efficient mode in a sequence of the following: ECO/GEAR(75%) ➡️ GEAR(50%) ➡️ Previous setting mode ➡️ ECO.

HUMIDITY

Adjust the room humidity during Dry operation in a range of 35%~85%. Press to increase the humidity in 5% increments.

NOTE: After setting, the humidity settings appear on the screen.

FAN SPEED

Selects fan speeds in the following order: AU➡️20%➡️40%➡️60%➡️80%➡️100%.

Press the TEMP ⬆️ or ⬇️ buttons to increase/decrease the fan speed in 1% increments.

SWING

Starts and stops the horizontal louver movement. Hold down for 2 seconds to initiate vertical louver auto swing feature. ?

LED

Turns the indoor unit's LED display and air conditioner buzzer on and off, which creates a comfortable and quiet environment. If you press and hold LED for 5 seconds, it displays the return air temperature at the unit versus the set point temperature. ?

BOOST

Enables the unit to reach the preset temperature in the shortest possible time. ?

NOTE: To alternate between °C and °F, buttons must be pressed gently; otherwise, the remote will not recognize the command.

Accessing the INQUIRY Mode

Entering INQUIRY Mode

1. Simultaneously press ON/OFF ? and FAN SPEED ? for 8 seconds.
2. The remote is now in the INQUIRY mode.
3. The remote control remains in the INQUIRY mode for 1 minute if no other button is pressed.
4. While in the INQUIRY Mode, the remote display cancels all icons except AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT and Battery Strength.
5. The remote control digital display defaults to 0 upon entering the INQUIRY mode.
6. In the INQUIRY mode, each digital code (from 0 to 30) is accessed by pressing the UP ⬆️ or DOWN ⬇️ arrows.
7. The INQUIRY information appears on the high wall indoor unit display in approximately 1 second after accessing the digital code. Press OK to send as well.
8. In the INQUIRY mode, all other buttons and operations are invalid except for UP ⬆️, DOWN ⬇️ and OK, or the operation to exit the INQUIRY mode.

Remote Controller Service Mode Functions

Note: While in the INQUIRY mode, refer to the following instructions to enter SERVICE mode for the applicable codes.

Below is a list of INQUIRY modes and serviceable functions.

1. Before using the remote's service functions, turn OFF the indoor unit with the remote.
2. Turn OFF the power to the outdoor unit for 2 minutes. Turn the power back ON.
3. Remove the batteries from the remote and wait for the remote screen to clear. Within 30 seconds of replacing the batteries, use UP ⬆️ or DOWN ⬇️ to scroll through the INQUIRY modes.
4. To enter the SERVICE mode for an applicable INQUIRY mode, press ON/OFF ? for 2 seconds.
5. After SERVICE adjustments have been made, press ON/OFF ? for 2 seconds to exit the SERVICE mode and return to the INQUIRY mode.
6. Once operations in the INQUIRY mode are complete, press ON/OFF ? and FAN SPEED ? for 2 seconds to exit. All buttons on the remote controller are disabled for 60 seconds.
7. To ensure changes are locked, power down the outdoor unit for three (3) minutes after all the service mode changes are made.
