2. Add Hub M1S Gen
- Plug the hub into a socket and wait for the yellow light to blink quickly. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If using a dual-band router, disable the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. Keep your phone close to the hub and ensure both are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the Aqara Home app, tap "+" in the upper right corner, select "Hub M1S Gen 2", and follow the on-screen instructions to complete adding the hub.
- For iOS users: Follow instructions to scan the product box or manually enter the HomeKit code on the hub. Once added, the hub will appear in the Apple Home app. Keep the HomeKit code in a safe place for future use.
- If adding the hub fails, press the button on the hub for over 10 seconds until the yellow light flashes quickly, then try adding it again.
Troubleshooting Device Addition:
- Ensure the device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Wi-Fi names or passwords with special characters might cause issues; try using ordinary characters.
- Check if the router's Wi-Fi connection watcher function is enabled, as it can cause network connection failures.
- Verify if the router's AP isolation function is enabled, which might prevent the phone from finding the hub on the LAN.
It is recommended not to connect the hub to a bridge network.
Trouble adding to HomeKit:
- "Failed to add accessory": This may occur due to multiple failed attempts, preventing the iOS cache from clearing. Restart the iOS device and reset the hub.
- "Accessory already added": After restarting the iOS device and resetting the hub, manually enter the HomeKit setup code to add it again.
- "Accessory not found": Wait for 3 minutes after resetting the hub, then manually enter the HomeKit setup code to add it again.
3. Add Bridge Accessories
After the hub is connected, open the Aqara Home app, navigate to the "Accessories" page, tap "+" in the upper right corner, and select the accessory to add according to the instructions. Refer to the bridge accessory quick start guide for more details.
Installation
- For optimal communication between the hub and its accessories, install the hub at the center of the area where the accessories are located.
- Depending on the environment, the indoor transmission distance can reach up to 30 meters between the hub and bridge accessories without obstructions like walls.
