Function

With the cylinder valve (G1) open and the flame regulator (A) active, gas flows through the gas hose (G7) and the control element into the burner (6). A piezo igniter generates a spark that ignites the gas. The gas flames heat the grill grate (3a) and the grill plate (3) with the food above them. The flame regulators (A) can be used to control the heat output for the grill grate and grill plate.

Assembly

Before You Begin

To assemble your grill quickly and successfully, here are a few tips:

Even if you are not an experienced DIYer, assembly usually takes no more than an hour.

Performing Assembly

Assembly Step 1

Turn the base plate (11) over and attach the wheels (10) to the lower part of the base plate (11).

Assembly Step 2

Attach the side walls (8 + 12) to the base plate (11) using screws (B).

Assembly Step 3

Attach the crossbars (13 + 14) to the side walls (8 + 12) using screws (A) and nuts (C).

Assembly Step 4

Fix the door (9a) at the bottom using a hinge pin (H). Fix the upper part of the door (9a) using a pin (F) on the front crossbar (13).

Assembly Step 5

Mount the housing (5) onto the crossbars (13 + 14) using screws (D) and nuts (E).

Assembly Step 6

Mount the side shelves (6) to the housing (5). Use 8 screws (B) for this.

Assembly Step 7

Fill the grease collection tray (9) with a layer of absorbent, non-flammable material approximately 10 mm thick that can absorb dripping fat (e.g., dry, loose, and clean sand). Without such material, dripping fat can ignite. Never use flammable materials such as sawdust, cat litter, or similar.

If you line the grease collection tray with aluminum foil before filling, the fat-soaked material can be removed more easily later.

Slide the grease collection tray (9) under the housing (5) until it stops.

Assembly Step 8

Insert the flame covers (4) into the housing (5).

Place the grill plate (3) and the grill grate (3a) into the housing (6). Ensure that the grill grate (3a) lies above the flame covers (4).

Connecting and Disconnecting Gas Cylinder

Required Parts and Tools

Connecting Gas Cylinder

Danger "Ignition of escaping gas"

Liquefied gas is highly flammable and burns explosively.

Possible Consequences:

Protective Measures:

  1. Choose a suitable location for the grill. Ensure that:
    • No flammable materials or substances are near the grill or can get there. Minimum distance to flammable materials or substances: 2 m above and 1 m to the side; distance to difficult-to-ignite materials or substances: at least 0.25 m.
    • The grill stands securely on a level, sufficiently large surface. It must not be moved during operation.
  2. Place the gas cylinder next to the grill.
Never lay the gas cylinder down or place it on the lower shelf.
The gas hose must not be kinked or under tension.
  3. Check that the seal of the cylinder valve thread (G2) is present and in proper condition. Do not use an additional seal.
  4. Connect the union nut (G3) of the pressure reducer to the cylinder valve thread (G2) and tighten the union nut (G3) by hand by turning counter-clockwise. Do not use tools for this, as otherwise the cylinder valve seal may be damaged, compromising the seal.
  5. Check that the connection between the pressure reducer (G4) and the gas hose (G7) is secure. To do this, tighten the union nut (G6) counter-clockwise with a 17 mm open-end wrench.
  6. Check the connection of the gas hose (G7) to the control element (under the front panel) in the same way.
  7. Open the cylinder valve (G1 by turning counter-clockwise) and check with commercially available leak detection spray that all connections are tight. Follow the instructions for the leak detection spray!
A leak test with an open flame is not permitted. A leak test by ear is not reliable.
If a leak is detected, immediately close the cylinder valve (turn to the right) and tighten the leaking connection or replace the leaking part. Repeat the leak test.
  8. Close the cylinder valve (G1 by turning to the right) if you do not intend to grill immediately.

Disconnecting Gas Cylinder

  1. Close the cylinder valve (G1 by turning to the right).
  2. Turn the union nut (G3) of the pressure reducer clockwise by hand and remove the pressure reducer (G4) from the cylinder valve thread (G2).
  3. Store the pressure reducer (G4) with the gas hose (G7) under the grill. Ensure that the gas line is not kinked.
  4. Store the gas cylinder properly:
    • Secure the gas cylinder valve with a cap nut and protective cap.
    • Do not store gas cylinders in rooms below ground level, in stairwells, hallways, passages, and driveways of buildings, or near them.
    • Always store gas cylinders upright – even empty ones!

Operation

Putting the Grill into Operation

Before grilling, wash the grill plate (3) and grill grate (3a) thoroughly with warm soapy water and let them dry completely. Then, coat the top side of both parts with cooking oil. This will prevent food from sticking to the grill plate or grill grate.

  1. Check that:
    • No flammable materials or substances are near the grill or can get there. Minimum distance to flammable materials or substances: 2 m above and 1 m to the side. Distance to difficult-to-ignite materials or substances: at least 0.25 m.
    • The grill stands securely on a level, sufficiently large surface. It must not be moved during operation.
  2. Check that:
    • All flame regulators (A) are set to "" (off).
    • The grill is fully assembled and has no visible defects.
    • The grill plate (3) and grill grate (3a) are in place.
    • The lid is open.
    • The grease collection tray is filled with a layer of clean, absorbent, non-flammable material approximately 10 mm thick that can absorb dripping fat (e.g., dry, loose, and clean sand). Otherwise, dripping fat can ignite. Never use flammable materials such as sawdust, cat litter, or similar.
  3. Check the union nut (G3) of the pressure reducer (G4) for a secure fit. To do this, tighten the union nut (G3) by hand counter-clockwise.
  4. Open the cylinder valve (G1 by turning counter-clockwise).
  5. Check that the gas system is leak-proof. Otherwise, immediately turn the cylinder valve (G1) clockwise (close).

Do not lean over the grill during the following steps; keep your distance.

  1. Press the flame regulator (A) and turn it approximately a quarter turn counter-clockwise until you hear a slight click of the spring.
  2. Hold it in this position for 3 to 5 seconds to allow gas to flow into the burner.
  3. If the gas does not ignite in the burner, wait three minutes and repeat steps 6 and 7.
  4. Turn the flame regulator (A) to "Max" (large flame).
  5. Proceed with the other flame regulators (A) as described in steps 6 to 9.
  6. Close the lid (1+2) and let the grill heat up at full power. For first-time use, the grill should be heated without food for approx. 20 minutes to cure the food-safe coating (as with any oven).
  7. When the grill plate (3) and grill grate (3a) are heated, turn the flame regulators (A) to the desired heat output (flame size). We recommend not operating the grill at maximum heat for too long, as the housing can become very hot and be damaged.
  8. You can now place your food on the grill. We recommend wearing grill gloves or other heat-protective gloves.

Taking the Grill out of Operation

  1. Close the cylinder valve of the gas cylinder (G1 by turning clockwise).
  2. Turn the flame regulators (A) to "" (off).
  3. Wait until all parts have cooled down and then clean all dirty parts.
  4. Close the lid (1+2).
  5. For longer periods of non-use:
    • Disconnect the gas cylinder (see chapter "Disconnecting Gas Cylinder").
    • Store the grill in a dry place.

Cleaning

Grill

To ensure you enjoy your grill for a long time, clean it immediately after each use – after all parts have cooled down – with dish soap, a brush, and a cloth. Later, when the dirt has dried, the effort will be considerably higher.

Caution "Grill igniter can bend"

When cleaning, you can bend or break the igniter on the burner. Possible Consequences: The burner no longer ignites. Protective Measures: Clean the area around the burner with particular care.

The material in the grease collection tray must be replaced when it becomes dirty, damp, or lumpy. Otherwise, it can be ignited by dripping fat. Replace it with a 10 mm thick layer of clean, absorbent, non-flammable material that can absorb dripping fat (e.g., dry, loose, and clean sand). Never use flammable materials such as sawdust, cat litter, or similar.

Gas System

The gas outlet nozzles in the burner necks can be cleaned with a needle if necessary. The burners must be removed for this. All other gas-carrying parts may only be cleaned by a professional. Never disassemble the control element!

Maintenance

The grill is maintenance-free. Nevertheless, you must carry out checks at regular intervals. Adjust the intervals according to the frequency of use and the environmental conditions to which the grill is exposed.

Grill

Gas System

The gas system must be checked every time a gas cylinder is connected (see chapter "Connecting and Disconnecting Gas Cylinder"). Ensure that the hose is replaced if necessary, in accordance with applicable national regulations.

Environmental Information and Disposal Measures

For disposal of the grill, disassemble it into its individual parts. Recycle metals and plastics.

Troubleshooting

If a fault occurs despite sufficient care and maintenance, this chapter can help you to resolve it.
