Introduction
We appreciate your purchase of the Eversolo Play Music Streaming Amplifier.
Play is a high-performance, fully-featured Hi-Res music streaming integrated amplifier. As a digital audio player, Play not only excels at playing and managing various high-resolution local music files, but also incorporates premium third-party Hi-Res streaming services including TIDAL, Qobuz, HIGHRESAUDIO, Amazon Music, WebDAV, UPnP and more.
As an integrated amplifier, Play supports Optical, Coaxial, HDMI ARC, analog LINE IN, and PHONO input. Users can start their musical journey simply by connecting speakers.
Additionally, Play supports USB audio output, delivering up to DSD512 and PCM 768KHz/32bit audio data.
The decoding section of Play utilizes the high-performance AK4493SEQ DAC, which incorporates VELVET SOUND technology designed to deliver extremely low distortion and noise (THD+N).
Play features an audio power amplifier capable of 60W/8Ω and 110W/4Ω output.
It is advised to read this manual to make sure the product's features are applied correctly.

Hardware
Rear Panel
The rear panel features various input and output ports:
- [1] Power on/off: Main power switch.
- [2] Trigger In: Connects to front-end devices for synchronized wake-up (5V-12V).
- [3] ARC: Connects to TVs, projectors, or other display devices with HDMI ARC/ARC functionality.
- [4] Optical Input: Connects CD players, set-top boxes, digital transports.
- [5] Coaxial Input: Connects CD players, set-top boxes, digital transports.
- [6] Ground Terminal: Connects to the ground wire of digital transport.
- [7] LINE IN (RCA): Connects to preamplifiers for analog signal input.
- [8] PHONO MM/MC: Connects to turntables (supports both MM and MC cartridges).
- [9] Reset Port: For system reset or OTG firmware updates.
- [10] Gigabit Ethernet: Network socket for wired internet connection.
- [11] USB 3.0 OTG: Connects to external storage devices, optical disc drives, or PCs. (Refer to Settings > Other Settings > USB-OTG port).
- [12] USB (Audio out): USB audio output for connecting audio devices like DACs.
- [13] Coaxial output: Connects to a decoder or preamp.
- [14] Sub Out: Connects to a subwoofer.
- [15] SPEAKER Output: Connects to L/R channel speakers.
Note: USB maximum supply current is 2A. For external optical disc drivers, use an additional power adapter or USB splitter cable (USB OTG and USB AUDIO OUT).
Front Panel
The front panel features the display screen and a control knob:
- [1] Display Screen: 5.5" LCD touchscreen for interface interaction.
- [2] Volume Knob/Power Switch: Used for adjusting volume level and powering the device on/off.
Note: Turn the volume knob to the minimum level before use (default volume -20dB).
Basic Operation
Home Screen
The Home Screen provides access to various functions. The function entrance displays Music Services, Functions, Apps, Connect, Cloud, Settings, and a navigation bar.
Music Player: Play features a built-in Hi-Res digital music player supporting digital audio transport, external hard drives, NAS over local network, and lossless audio from streaming services. On the Home Screen, tap the album icon in the top-right corner to enter the Music Player interface to view currently playing tracks, progress, and control icons.
Description of Music Player Controls:
- Favorite: Add the currently playing track to My Favorites.
- Playback Controls: Previous track ◀️, Play/Pause ▶️/⏸️, Next track ⏭️.
- Switch Play Mode: Cycle through list loop, single loop, shuffle play, and order play modes.
- Play Queue: View a list of all tracks selected for playback, such as all tracks by a specific artist or within an album.
- CD (Only CD Edition): Eject/Load tray; displays the full track list.
Network Connection: Before using playback functions, ensure the device is connected to the network. This device supports both wired and Wi-Fi connections. Configure your connection via Settings > Network Settings > WIFI/Wired network.
Power On/Off and Knob Control
Power on: Press the knob once to turn the device on when it is powered off.
Shutdown/Restart: Short press the knob to access a pop-up menu to select shutdown or restart. Long press for 3 seconds to initiate shutdown.
Timed Shutdown: Set a timer for automatic shutdown. Multiple timer options are available, or you can customize one.
Screen Off: The device continues to operate with the screen off. Tap the screen again to wake it up.
Standby: Click to immediately put the system into standby mode.
Timed Standby: Set a timer for automatic standby. Multiple timer options are available, or you can customize one.
Volume Control: The knob can be turned clockwise to increase volume and counterclockwise to decrease volume while music is playing. The audio setting allows adjustment of the volume step (0.5dB to 3dB).
Music Services and Library
Music Service Usage
Music Services include Music Library, Listen at Will, My Favorites, streaming services, and music apps. Log in with your account to play music from third-party apps and streaming services.
Music Library
The music library allows you to manage and categorize local music. Tap "Add Library" to add music from local storage, external storage devices, SMB, or NFS networks.
The "My" section displays recently played tracks, user-created playlists, and provides quick access to favorite tracks, artists, and albums.
Functions
File Manager
The File Manager handles files in local storage and removable storage devices, supporting LAN access to NFS and SMB services. It allows file operations (copy, paste, delete), organizing, sorting, and file management tasks.
Storage capacity is displayed, showing available and total space (e.g., 52.5 GB available / total 64.0 GB).
CD Playback & Ripping
By connecting a USB CD-ROM, the device can play music from CDs and rip music files from them.
CD Ripping Instructions: Navigate to Functions > CD ripping, then click the start button [▶️] to begin CD ripping.
Click the path selection icon [ ] to choose where to save ripped music files (local storage, removable storage, or NFS/SMB devices).
Note: The device supports WAV and FLAC formats for ripping files.
EQ (Equalizer)
The EQ function works for the internal player and digital audio inputs (coaxial/optical/ARC). It also supports analog signal input captured via a high-spec ADC (up to 192KHz), which is then output via digital audio interfaces or speaker interfaces.
EQ Configuration: Allows configuration of output EQ for Speaker, COAX, and USB DAC, with options for different settings (Config 1, Config 2, Config 3).
Room Correction
This feature helps optimize audio playback based on your listening environment. Select the best listening position by placing the microphone where you usually sit, at ear height.
Microphone Selection: The system prompts for microphone detection. If a microphone is not found, it will indicate so. Microphone calibration files can be loaded if available.

Multi Room
This feature enables synchronized audio playback across multiple rooms, allowing you to control audio distribution throughout your home.

Transfer
Access Functions > Transfer to copy songs from your computer to the device. Ensure both the computer and the device are on the same network. Choose a path to save songs in the Music Directory.
Transfer Methods:
- Method 1 (PC Browser Input Address): Enter the provided IP address (e.g.,
http://192.168.1.148:9587
) into your PC's web browser. - Method 2 (PC Browser SMB Address): Use the SMB address (e.g., Windows:
\192.168.1.148

) in your PC's file explorer.
Apps
You can view, install, and uninstall third-party applications. To install apps, download the APK file, copy it to a removable drive, insert the drive into the device, locate the APK file in the File Manager, and install it with a single click.
Note: It is recommended to install tablet-optimized apps.
Connectivity and Settings
Music Connect
Supports various streaming protocols including TIDAL Connect, DLNA, and Squeeze Connect. Ensure your phone or computer is on the same local network as the device to stream music directly.
Cloud
Integrates with cloud storage services like UPnP, WebDAV, Dropbox, Emby, Jellyfin, and Plex. Log in to your account to play music stored in these cloud platforms.
Settings
The Settings menu provides access to System Settings, including Source, Audio Settings, Playback Settings, Display Settings, Network Settings, Phone Control, Update, SetUpWizard, Other Settings, and About.
Note: For digital outputs (USB, SPDIF), set the volume to maximum. Volume adjustment is not required for internal analog output.
Audio Settings
Navigate to Settings > Audio Settings to configure options for Speaker output, Subwoofer, Coaxial output, USB DAC output, ARC Mode, Phono In mode, and Maximum volume limit.
Playback Settings
Navigate to Settings > Playback Settings to configure Playback Mode, CD Auto Play, Gapless playback, ReplayGain source mode, Auto-play Queue on Startup, and Auto Open Playback screen on Startup.
Display Settings
Navigate to Settings > Display Settings to adjust screen brightness, screensaver, screensaver modes, knob brightness & color, VU meter display modes, spectrum, theme, play details, and auto-hide navigation bar.
Screen Brightness: Adjust the device's screen brightness.
Knob Settings: Customize the brightness and color of the knob light.
Screensaver: Enable the system to enter screensaver mode after inactivity. Exit by pressing the power button or touching the screen.
Screensaver Modes: Choose from 9 preset screen saver styles.
VU Meter: Select different VU meters according to personal preference.
Phone Control
Eversolo Play supports control via a mobile app. Navigate to Settings > Phone Control, scan the QR code to download and install the "Eversolo Control" app. Alternatively, download the app from the official website or the manual.
Mobile Controlling App: Ensure the device and phone are on the same local network. Open the app, select the device named "play" to add it. Once connected, you will access the control interface.
Connection and Setting
Eversolo Play's digital audio output includes USB audio and Coaxial digital audio output; it also supports analog audio amplifier output.
USB Output
Use a USB audio cable to connect the device's USB audio output to the external DAC's USB input. Navigate to Settings > Source, select "Internal player" as input, and "USB DAC" as output.
Note: USB audio output supports up to DSD512 Native and PCM 768KHz 32Bit.
Speaker Output
Connect red speaker terminals (positive) to the positive (+) terminals of your speakers and black speaker terminals (negative) to the negative (-) terminals of your speakers. Navigate to Settings > Source > Output port and select "Speaker".
Note: Ensure correct polarity for optimal performance. Impedance matching is recommended.
Coaxial Output
Use a Coaxial audio cable to connect the Coaxial output of this device to the input of an audio decoder or AV receiver. Navigate to Settings > Source > Output port and select "COAX".
Note: Coaxial output supports up to Stereo PCM 192KHz 24Bit and DOP64.
Sub Out
Connect a subwoofer using a dual-ended red and white RCA cable. Navigate to Settings > Source > Output port > Subwoofer, and enable the Sub ON/OFF button.
Optical/Coaxial Input
Connect front-end equipment with S/PDIF output (e.g., media player or CD player) using an Optical or Coaxial audio cable. Navigate to Settings > Source and select "Optical In" or "Coaxial In".
Notes: Use a 75 Ohm Coaxial audio cable for Coaxial connection. Use a standard optical audio cable for Optical connection. Optical/Coaxial input supports up to PCM 192KHz 24Bit and DOP64.
LINE In
Connect external audio sources with analog RCA audio outputs (e.g., CD players) using a dual-ended red and white RCA cable. Navigate to Settings > Source, then select "LINE In".
ARC Input
Connect a TV, projector, or other display device with HDMI eARC/ARC functionality using an HDMI cable. Navigate to Settings > Source and select "ARC In".
Notes: Connect to the HDMI input port labeled ARC or eARC on the TV. HDMI ARC input supports up to PCM 192KHz 24Bit. Use a physical HDMI cable for connection.
PHONO Input
Connect an external turntable using a dual-ended red and white RCA cable. Navigate to Settings > Source, select "PHONO In". To switch PHONO input mode, navigate to Settings > Audio Settings > PHONO in mode.
Other Features and Notes
Bluetooth Input
The device features a built-in Bluetooth audio receiver module supporting lossless audio protocols like SBC/AAC, functioning as a high-quality Bluetooth decoder. Pair with mobile devices for wireless playback. Navigate to Settings > Source, select "Bluetooth In". On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth, search for "play", and pair.
Note: Bluetooth reception format depends on the transmitting device. Android phones may allow switching Bluetooth output formats in system developer options.
USB OTG Port
The USB-OTG port allows connection with a computer via a USB data cable for convenient local file copying and management. Navigate to Settings > Other Settings > USB-OTG port.
System Update
Access Settings > Update for Online update and USB update options.
Online Update: Connect to the internet, navigate to Settings > Update or Settings > About > Version, select "Online update," and follow prompts. Wait for automatic restart.
USB Update: Download the firmware update package from the official website to a USB stick. Connect the USB stick to the device's USB-A port. Navigate to Settings > Update or Settings > About > Version, select "USB update," and follow prompts. Wait for automatic restart.
Notes: Do not remove the USB stick or power off during the upgrade process. Use a FAT32 format USB stick. The downloaded file package does not need to be unzipped.

Safety Warning:
- Avoid water splashing or dripping; do not place liquid-filled objects on the device.
- The power plug and switch disconnect power; ensure they are not obstructed.
- This is a Class I device; grounding measures must be in place inside the box during use.
