! Do not let children clean or maintain this appliance, and do not leave it unattended.

! Use only parts supplied by the manufacturer.

! Do not make any changes or modifications to the appliance unless approved by the manufacturer or their representative.

! If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service center, or a similarly qualified person for safety reasons.

! Use the appliance exclusively for cooking and for no other purpose, such as space heating. This can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning and overheating of the appliance. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use or incorrect adjustment of the controls.

! This appliance is not intended to be operated by an external timer or a separate remote control system.

! The use of this gas cooker leads to the generation of heat, moisture, and combustion residues in the room where it is installed. Ensure that the room is adequately ventilated when the appliance is in operation. For prolonged use, additional ventilation may be required, for example, by opening a window or increasing the extraction power of the hood.

! Do not extinguish open flames with water. Turn off the burner and cover the flames with a lid or a fire blanket.

! The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Avoid touching heating elements as much as possible.

! The cooking process must be supervised. A short cooking process must be continuously supervised. It can lead to a fire if you cook with fat or oil and leave the cooktop unattended. Do not leave the appliance unattended when you are using it.

! The use of an unsuitable cooktop protector can lead to accidents.

! Do not store items on the cooktop of the stove - there is a fire hazard.

! The burners and pan supports are hot during and after operation. Allow all parts to cool down before touching them, as this can otherwise lead to serious injuries.

To switch off:

Using the Electric Hob (if applicable)

The exact position of the control knob can be found in the main components section.

To switch on:

To switch off:

! Ensure the control knob is in the off position when you no longer use the hob.

! Do not close the glass lid when the hob is in operation or still warm.

Using the Grill

The exact position of the control knob can be found in the main components section.

To switch on:

! The grill may only be used at the rated temperature.

The correct grill height can be achieved by inverting the pan support to either the high or low position, depending on the type of food being prepared.

The grill pan is multifunctional for use in the grill or oven. The handle design allows for removal or attachment while the pot is in use. Always remove the handle when the pan is in use.

Slide the rack into the desired position.

! The grill door must remain open when igniting and using the grill.

! If the burner goes out unintentionally, turn the control knob to position 0 and wait at least 1 minute before re-igniting the burner.

The grill heats up quickly. However, a preheating time of a few minutes is recommended. A 12-volt cooling fan operates automatically above the grill compartment.

It is normal for the flames of this burner to have yellow tips when heating the grill.

To switch off:

Using the Oven

The exact position of the control knob can be found in the main components section.

To switch on:

Slide the oven rack into the desired position and close the door.

! Ignition must always take place with the oven door open.

! If the burner goes out unintentionally, turn the control knob to position 0 and wait at least 1 minute before re-igniting the burner.

! If the burner does not ignite within 15 seconds, turn the control knob back to position O and release it. Wait at least 1 minute and then repeat the steps described above to turn on the appliance.

The oven heats up quickly. However, a 10-minute preheating is recommended. The oven reaches its maximum temperature in about 15-20 minutes.

To switch off:

Safe Cooking

Ensure that cooking vessels do not extend beyond the edges of the appliance - use pans of the correct size and place them centrally over the burners.

SOH700

SOH710

SOH750

SOH760

SOH770

Ensure there is a minimum distance of 10 mm between the pots and the edges of the hob.

Turn the pots so that the handles do not extend over the front of the appliance.

Ensure that the flame of the gas burner heats the bottom of the pot and not the sides.

The pots and racks included with this appliance are of the maximum size. Do not use larger pots and racks. These can impair heat circulation, leading to longer cooking times.

The oven rack allows good circulation in the rear area of the oven. An elevation at the rear of the rack prevents dishes or bowls from coming into contact with the rear part of the oven.

To remove a rack, pull it forward to the stop and lift it at the front.

To insert a rack into the oven, lower it at the front and slide it back to the stop.

Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.

Do not use the appliance while driving.

Turn the control knob back to position 0 after cooking.

Keep the appliance clean and avoid the accumulation of fat and food residue.

! Never cover openings or holes in the appliance and do not cover the racks with materials such as aluminum foil. This impairs airflow and can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.

! The racks and trays in the appliance are hot during and after use. Allow all parts to cool down before touching them, as this can otherwise lead to serious injuries. Always use oven gloves when removing racks and trays from the oven.

Temperature Control

The temperature in the oven is regulated by a thermostatic gas tap and is adjustable in the range of 130 °C to 220 °C.

The table below provides guidance on the approximate temperatures at each rack position relative to the gas setting. The temperature differences between the individual rack positions offer the advantage that different dishes requiring different temperatures can be prepared simultaneously. This way, the gas used for heating the oven is utilized to its maximum.

Table 1: Temperature Ranges

Gas Setting Dish
1/4-1/2 90 °C 110 °C 130 °C Baiser
1 110 °C 130 °C 150 °C Fruit compote
2 120 °C 140 °C 160 °C Fruit cake, Rice pudding
3 130 °C 150 °C 170 °C Crème brûlée, Shortbread
4 140 °C 160 °C 185 °C English sponge cake (Victoria Sponge)
5 155 °C 180 °C 200 °C Biscuit, Gingerbread
6 170 °C 190 °C 215 °C Shortbread
7 185 °C 210 °C 220 °C Bread, Scones, Pastry
8 200 °C 220 °C 220 °C Pastry

! Be careful not to overload the oven. Ensure sufficient space for heat to circulate unimpeded.

! When using aluminum foil, ensure that it does not obstruct heat circulation or the oven's exhaust.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Thetford recommends having an annual inspection carried out by an authorized service center. Between annual services, you should clean the appliance after each use. Before cleaning, the appliance must cool down and be disconnected from the gas and/or power supply.

! After each use, remove splashes or contaminants with soap and hot water. Dry the surface with a soft cloth.

Use a non-abrasive multi-purpose cleaning milk and a nylon scouring pad to remove stubborn dirt or grease residues.

Use a suitable stainless steel cleaner or polish to remove superficial scratches on the surface.

! Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal scouring pads, or stiff brushes, as they can damage the appliance.

When cleaning the burner rings, ensure that the holes are not blocked.

! Do not use aggressive scouring agents or sharp metal scrapers to clean the glass, as they can scratch the surface and cause the glass to shatter.

! Do not leave wet cloths, cleaning pads, food residues, or other dirt residues to dry on the surface, as this can lead to pitting, staining, or even rust formation.

Always clean in the direction of the brushed surface and not across the grain.

Cleaning agents containing bleach must not come into contact with stainless steel.

The mineral content in water (e.g., iron or lime) can affect the appearance of metal.

! Remove spills from the glass lid before opening it.

The control knobs can be removed for cleaning. The knobs are easy to reattach.

Gas Leaks

As soon as you smell gas, you should do the following:

Liquefied petroleum gas is heavier than air. Escaping gas collects in the lower part of the room. If you follow the strong, unpleasant smell of gas, you can determine where the leak is located. To investigate where the leak is exactly, use a special leak detection spray. Never use an open flame to find the leak!

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The burners do not burn or burn unevenly. The gas cylinder is empty. Replace the bottle.
The gas tap is closed. Open the tap.
The burner caps are not positioned correctly. Allow the caps to cool down, then reposition them.

Ignition generates no sparks. The 12V DC battery is empty. Charge the battery.
The connections are loose. Connect the connections firmly.
The ignition points are wet or dirty. Dry or clean the ignition points.
The control knobs do not function. The knobs are incorrectly attached. Reattach the knobs correctly.

If you cannot resolve a problem, please contact an authorized local service center or Thetford customer service in your country.
