This document details the important software update for your PL-9500: version 2.48 is now available. This update introduces new features to expand functionality for greater convenience and efficiency.
New Features Added:
- Automatic silo switching between two silos is now possible.
- Imperial units have been added (English/American units).

- Egg counting function improved.
- Temperature setting improved (heating, water option).

Feature #1: Automatic Silo Switching Between Two Silos
Previously, automatic silo switching was exclusively available in combination with PFB (feed weighing). With this software update, automatic silo switching is now also possible between 2 silos, provided both silos are equipped with silo weighing.
For Installation:
The system interface allows configuration for feed systems and auger controls. Key settings include:
- Feed weigher present
- Silo weigher 1 (with options to activate/deactivate)
- Silo weigher 2 (with options to activate/deactivate)
- Auger control (Screw conveyor control)
Configuration for auger control involves:
- Number of augers
- Output auger silo 1
- Output auger silo 2
- Sensor maximum
- Delay time
Specific settings related to this feature include:
- Activate 1 or 2 Silo weighers
- Activate the Auger control (Screw conveyor control)
- Set 1 or 2 silos
- Setting relay control for screw motors (motor M1 and M2)
- Set digital input for maximum sensor (S1)
Note: If feed wagons are present, the feed sensor contact must be connected in series with the "feed wagons present" contact.
For the User: Auger Control and Silo Status
The "Auger control" (Screw conveyor control) interface allows users to view and set the current silo status. The "Active" status indicates whether the screw conveyor is in operation.
The "Sensor maximum" displays the status of the sensor; a delay is visible when the sensor detects no feed.
Silo Status Options:
- Free: The silo is available.
- Empty: The silo has no feed.
- Blocked: The user can manually set the silo status to "blocked".
How it Works:
- If no feed intake is detected from a silo (due to bridging, being empty, or the auger being switched off), the silo status is set to 'empty', and the system automatically switches to an available silo.
- If a silo is set to "empty", it will automatically revert to "free" status after:
- The silo is filled.
- At 24h time (00h).
- If the feed counter (PSW-1) detects a "maximum supply alarm", the silo supply augers will stop. This alarm can be reset by resetting all alarms or by turning the feed counter alarm off and on again.

Feature #2: Imperial Units Added
The functionality for imperial units has been added. Units can now be converted to American units such as inch, feet, gallons, and pressure Pa, for countries where this is applicable.
Feature #3: External Alarms Options Added
The 'NO/NC' (Normally Open / Normally Closed) option has been added. Additionally, a 'delay alarm relay' has been included.
