VN5130 Ethernet Interface
Automotive Ethernet Card for VX1161 and VIO
What is VN5130?
The VN5130 Ethernet Interface is a card for the VX1161 Multi Base Module and the VIO System. It offers 6 Automotive Ethernet channels with fixed Marvell 88Q222x 1000BASE-T1/100BASE-T1 PHYs. Each pair of channels is statically connected to a TAP, allowing the traffic from up to 3 network connections to be captured.
For each channel, the card's front panel offers a Rosenberger H-MTD Z connector in a robust design for more than 500 mating cycles. The Ethernet frames captured by the VN5130 are time-stamped within the card, using a clock that is synchronized via PTP with the host. This enables very precise temporal correlation of other measurement data streams.
The VN5130 is designed for use in vehicles, supports a wide temperature range and offers high robustness against mechanical stress. Configurable bypass relays ensure closed TAP connections while the card is switched off. This allows Ethernet communication between two control units even when the card is switched off.

Hardware Overview
The image shows the VN5130 Ethernet Interface Card. It features a front panel with six blue connectors labeled 'ETH' and numbered 1 through 6, with associated 'M' indicators (likely for speed, e.g., 100M, 1000M). The card itself is a circuit board with a black heatsink and several integrated components. The model name 'VN5130' is visible on the front panel.
