01 TV Installation

Mounting the TV on a wall

Caution: Improper wall mounting can cause the TV to slide or fall, leading to serious injury or damage. Follow manufacturer instructions precisely.

For models with wall mount adapters, install them as shown in the diagram before installing the wall mount kit. Refer to the installation manual included with the Samsung wall mount kit.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows a wall mount bracket attached to a wall, with a wall mount adapter connecting to the TV. A label 'C' indicates a measurement point.

Samsung Electronics is not liable for damage or injury if you install the wall mount yourself.

To order a wall mount kit, contact Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

Install on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. For other surfaces, consult your dealer. Mounting on a ceiling or slanted wall may cause the TV to fall.

It is recommended to fasten all four VESA screws. If using only two top screws, ensure the Samsung wall mount kit supports this type of installation.

Important: Do not install the wall mount kit while the TV is on. Use screws that comply with VESA specifications; incorrect lengths can damage the TV. Do not overtighten screws. Samsung is not liable for accidents resulting from improper installation or use of non-VESA mounts.

Do not mount the TV tilted more than 15 degrees. Always use two people to mount the TV.

Providing Proper Ventilation

Maintain at least 4 inches (10 cm) distance between the TV and surrounding objects (walls, cabinets) for proper ventilation. Failure to do so may cause overheating, fire, or product issues.

Use only Samsung-provided parts for stand or wall mount installation. Using parts from other manufacturers may cause difficulties or injury.

Safety Precaution: Securing the TV to the wall to prevent falling

Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing on the TV can cause it to fall, leading to serious injury or death, especially for children. Follow all safety precautions in the included Safety Flyer. Consider purchasing and installing an anti-fall device for added stability.

WARNING: Never place a TV in an unstable location. Precautions to avoid injury, especially to children, include:

Apply these precautions to older TVs when relocating or replacing them. When moving or cleaning the TV, do not pull out the stand.

Preventing the TV from Falling

  1. Fasten brackets securely to the wall using appropriate screws. Ensure they are firmly attached. Wall anchors may be needed depending on the wall type.
  2. Fasten brackets securely to the TV using appropriately sized screws (refer to "Standard Screw" on page 7).
  3. Connect the TV brackets and wall brackets with a durable, heavy-duty string, tying it tightly. Install the TV close to the wall to prevent it from falling backward. Ensure wall brackets are at the same or lower height than TV brackets.

02 The Samsung Smart Remote

About the Buttons

Remote images, buttons, and functions may vary by model. The Universal Remote function works only with the Samsung Smart Remote included with the TV.

Pairing the TV to the Samsung Smart Remote

The remote pairs automatically when the TV is turned on for the first time. If it doesn't pair automatically, point the remote at the TV's sensor and press and hold the [Return] and [Select] buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds or more.

Installing Batteries

Diagram Description: Shows how to open the rear cover, insert batteries with correct polarity (+/-), and close the cover.

To install batteries, push the rear cover open in the direction of the arrow, insert batteries ensuring correct polarity, and close the cover.

Alkaline batteries are recommended for longer battery life.

03 Initial Setup

The Initial Setup begins automatically when the TV is turned on for the first time. Follow on-screen instructions to configure basic settings.

Using the SmartThings App: Connect your mobile device via Wi-Fi. If the setup pop-up doesn't appear, manually add the TV via 'Add Device' in the SmartThings app dashboard. The app requires Android 6.0+ or iOS 10+.

Note: Temporary noise may occur during TV communication with mobile devices.

Using the TV Controller

The TV Controller, located on the bottom of the TV, can be used instead of the remote. Use directional buttons to change channels (up/down) or volume (left/right). Press the [Select] button to display the Control menu. Navigate the menu using directional buttons and press [Select] to run an item.

What is Remote Support?

Samsung Remote Support offers one-on-one assistance from a Samsung Technician who can remotely diagnose your TV, adjust settings, perform factory resets, and install firmware updates.

How does Remote Support work?

  1. Call the Samsung Contact Center and request remote support.
  2. Open the TV menu, go to Support, and select Remote Management.
  3. Read and agree to the service agreements. Provide the PIN number to the technician when prompted.
  4. The technician will then access your TV.

Eco Sensor and Screen Brightness

The Eco Sensor automatically adjusts screen brightness based on room lighting to reduce power consumption. Turn it off via Settings > General > Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection.

If the screen is too dark in a dark environment, the Ambient Light Detection function may be the cause.

The eco sensor is located at the bottom of the TV. Do not block it, as this can decrease picture brightness.
