Internet Security
Samsung implements security measures for its Internet-compatible Smart TVs, including encryption for communications and controls against unauthorized applications. However, no Internet-connected device is completely secure. Take additional steps to safeguard your TV and network:
- Software Updates: Promptly install security updates. Enable Auto Update in Settings > Support > Software Update.
- Network Security: Secure your wireless access point with a unique password and standard encryption (e.g., WPA2). Use a strong password for your wireless network. Ensure your access point's firewall is enabled and all devices are behind it. Disconnect your home network from the Internet when not in use if your access point/modem has a standby mode button.

01 TV Installation
Mounting the TV on a wall
Caution: Improper wall mounting can cause the TV to slide or fall, leading to serious injury or damage. Follow manufacturer instructions precisely.
For models with wall mount adapters, install them as shown in the diagram before installing the wall mount kit. Refer to the installation manual included with the Samsung wall mount kit.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows a wall mount bracket attached to a wall, with a wall mount adapter connecting to the TV. A label 'C' indicates a measurement point.
Samsung Electronics is not liable for damage or injury if you install the wall mount yourself.
To order a wall mount kit, contact Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG.
Install on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. For other surfaces, consult your dealer. Mounting on a ceiling or slanted wall may cause the TV to fall.
It is recommended to fasten all four VESA screws. If using only two top screws, ensure the Samsung wall mount kit supports this type of installation.
Wall Mount Kit Specifications
TV Size (inches) | VESA Screw Hole Specs (A * B) (mm) | C (mm) | Standard Screw | Pitch (mm) | Quantity |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
55 | 200 x 200 | 41-43 | M8 | 1.25 | 4 |
65 | 400 x 300 | ||||
75 | 400 x 400 |
Important: Do not install the wall mount kit while the TV is on. Use screws that comply with VESA specifications; incorrect lengths can damage the TV. Do not overtighten screws. Samsung is not liable for accidents resulting from improper installation or use of non-VESA mounts.
Do not mount the TV tilted more than 15 degrees. Always use two people to mount the TV.
Providing Proper Ventilation
Maintain at least 4 inches (10 cm) distance between the TV and surrounding objects (walls, cabinets) for proper ventilation. Failure to do so may cause overheating, fire, or product issues.
Use only Samsung-provided parts for stand or wall mount installation. Using parts from other manufacturers may cause difficulties or injury.
Safety Precaution: Securing the TV to the wall to prevent falling
Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing on the TV can cause it to fall, leading to serious injury or death, especially for children. Follow all safety precautions in the included Safety Flyer. Consider purchasing and installing an anti-fall device for added stability.
WARNING: Never place a TV in an unstable location. Precautions to avoid injury, especially to children, include:
- Use cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturer.
- Use furniture that can safely support the TV.
- Ensure the TV does not overhang the edge of the supporting furniture.
- Anchor tall furniture and the TV to a support if placing the TV on it.
- Do not place the TV on cloth or other materials between the TV and furniture.
- Educate children about the dangers of climbing furniture.
Apply these precautions to older TVs when relocating or replacing them. When moving or cleaning the TV, do not pull out the stand.
Preventing the TV from Falling
- Fasten brackets securely to the wall using appropriate screws. Ensure they are firmly attached. Wall anchors may be needed depending on the wall type.
- Fasten brackets securely to the TV using appropriately sized screws (refer to "Standard Screw" on page 7).
- Connect the TV brackets and wall brackets with a durable, heavy-duty string, tying it tightly. Install the TV close to the wall to prevent it from falling backward. Ensure wall brackets are at the same or lower height than TV brackets.

The TV Won't Turn On
- Ensure the AC power cord is securely plugged into the TV and the wall outlet.
- Verify the wall outlet is working and the power indicator on the TV is lit solid red.
- Try pressing the [Power] button on the TV itself to rule out remote control issues.
No Picture/Video/Sound, Distorted Picture/Video/Sound, "Weak or No Signal", or Cannot Find Channel
- Check device connections and ensure all cables are fully inserted. Try new cables if necessary.
- Confirm the correct input source is selected ( > Source).
- Perform a TV self-diagnosis (Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Start Picture Test or Start Sound Test).
- If tests are normal, reboot connected devices by unplugging and replugging their power cords. If the issue persists, consult the connected device's manual.
- If using an antenna or cable wall connector, run Auto Program (Settings > Broadcasting > Auto Program) to search for channels.
The Remote Control Does Not Work
- Check if the TV's power indicator blinks when the remote's Power button is pressed. If not, replace batteries.
- Ensure batteries are installed with correct polarity (+/-).
- Point the remote directly at the TV from 5-6 ft (1.5-1.8 m) away.
- If using a Samsung Smart Remote (Bluetooth), ensure it is paired with the TV.
Cable Box/Satellite Box Remote Does Not Control TV
Program the cable/satellite box remote to operate the TV. Refer to the cable/satellite box user manual for the SAMSUNG TV code.
TV Settings Lost After 5 Minutes
The TV may be in Retail Mode. Change the Usage Mode to Home Mode in System Manager (Settings > General > System Manager > Usage Mode > Home Mode).
Intermittent Wi-Fi
- Ensure the TV has a network connection (Settings > General > Network > Network Status).
- Verify the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.
- Keep the distance between the TV and the modem/access point within 50 ft (15.2 m).
- Reduce interference by turning off or not using other wireless devices. Ensure no obstacles are between the TV and the modem/access point (appliances, cordless phones, stone walls can reduce Wi-Fi strength).
Diagram Description: Illustrates Wi-Fi signal propagation in single-story and multi-story buildings, showing wireless access points and repeaters.
Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to reset your network circuit and re-register MAC addresses if needed.
Video App Problems (YouTube, etc.)

- Reset Smart Hub: Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub.
What is Remote Support?
Samsung Remote Support offers one-on-one assistance from a Samsung Technician who can remotely diagnose your TV, adjust settings, perform factory resets, and install firmware updates.
How does Remote Support work?
- Call the Samsung Contact Center and request remote support.
- Open the TV menu, go to Support, and select Remote Management.
- Read and agree to the service agreements. Provide the PIN number to the technician when prompted.
- The technician will then access your TV.
Eco Sensor and Screen Brightness
The Eco Sensor automatically adjusts screen brightness based on room lighting to reduce power consumption. Turn it off via Settings > General > Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection.
If the screen is too dark in a dark environment, the Ambient Light Detection function may be the cause.
The eco sensor is located at the bottom of the TV. Do not block it, as this can decrease picture brightness.
Caring for the TV
- If a sticker was attached to the screen, clean off any remaining debris before use.
- Wipe the exterior and screen carefully with a soft cloth to prevent scratches.
- Do not spray water or liquids directly onto the TV.
- To clean the screen, turn off the TV and gently wipe smudges with a micro-fiber cloth. Clean the body with a micro-fiber cloth dampened with a small amount of water, then dry it. Avoid applying strong force to the panel. Do not use flammable liquids or cleaning agents. For stubborn smudges, spray screen cleaner onto a micro-fiber cloth and wipe.
