Product Overview
The Korg TM-70T/TM-70C is a combo tuner and metronome device. It features a display for tuning, a built-in microphone, and jacks for connecting instruments and headphones.
Controls and Indicators:
- Tuner On/Off: Button to turn the tuner function on or off.
- Volume: Adjusts the output volume.
- Metronome On/Off: Button to turn the metronome function on or off.
- Stereo mini-phone jack: For connecting headphones or earphones.
- Monaural mini-phone jack: For connecting instruments.
- Internal mic: Built-in microphone for tuning.
- Contact microphone (Included with TM-70C): For more accurate tuning.
Note: When tuning with the built-in mic, do not connect anything to the jack.
Precautions
Location: Avoid using the unit in locations with direct sunlight, extreme temperatures or humidity, excessive dust or dirt, excessive vibration, or near magnetic fields, as these can cause malfunctions.
Power Supply: Turn off the power when not in use. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for extended periods to prevent leakage. Do not expose batteries to excessive heat.
Interference: Operate the unit at a suitable distance from radios and televisions to avoid reception interference.
Handling: Do not apply excessive force to switches or controls to avoid breakage.
Care: Wipe the exterior with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, thinners, or flammable polishes.
Foreign Matter: Keep liquids and metal objects away from the equipment. If liquid or foreign matter gets inside, remove batteries and contact a dealer.
Disposal (EU only): Dispose of the product, batteries, and packaging according to local regulations to prevent harm to human health or the environment.

Using the Tuner
Press the TUNER button to turn the tuner on.
Tuning while checking the meter:
- Change the reference pitch as necessary.
- Play a single note on your instrument to input sound. For best results with the built-in mic, place your instrument close to the mic.
- Adjust the pitch on your instrument. The display shows the target note name. Tune so the meter aligns with the center mark and the center LED lights up.
Tuning while listening to the sound (Sound Out):
- Press the TUNER button while the tuner is on.
- Select the target note name for tuning.
- Adjust the pitch on your instrument while listening to the tuner's output.
- Press the TUNER button again to turn the sound off.
Tuning using the Transpose function:
- Select the reference tone.
- Adjust the pitch as described in "Tuning while checking the meter".
The tuning can be adjusted with Sound-Back, which detects the input note and outputs the closest reference pitch.
Using the Metronome
Press the METRONOME button to turn the metronome on.
Setting the tempo and beat:
- The default setting is pendulum steps.
- Press the + and - buttons simultaneously for about one second to switch between pendulum step and full step.
- Set the tempo by pressing the + and - buttons, or by pressing the METRONOME button at regular intervals.
- Start the metronome.
- Set the beat.
- Press the METRONOME button to stop the metronome.
Using the Tuner and Metronome Simultaneously
Press the TUNER and METRONOME buttons respectively to turn both functions on.
