This water closet has been designed for easy installation. Conventional fittings have been used throughout so that the working parts and operation of this assembly may be easily understood.
Assembly Diagram Components
The following components are part of the tank assembly kit or required for installation:
- (A) Tank Cover: The lid for the toilet tank.
- (B) Tank: The main water reservoir unit.
- (C) Tank Bolt (x2): Bolts used to secure the tank to the bowl.
- (D) Rubber Washers (x2): Washers to create a seal around the tank bolts.
- (E) Plastic Wing Nut (x2): Nuts used to tighten the tank bolts.
- (F) Beveled Gasket: A gasket that seals the pressure vessel outlet to the tank bottom.
- (G) Bowl: The toilet bowl unit.
- (I) Channel Pads (x2): Pads to prevent china-to-china contact between tank and bowl.
- (K) Braided Hose: Water supply line (not included).
- Flange: Part of the toilet outlet connection (not included for back outlet models).
- Floor bolts: Used to secure the bowl to the floor (not included).
- Neoprene Gasket: Gasket for the flange connection (not included).
Note: Please do not use a wax ring.
Installation Steps
- Before assembling tank (B) to bowl (G), check the tightness of lock nuts on both flush valve and fill valve.
- Before assembling tank to bowl, check tightness of brass nuts and rubber washers (D) underneath the tank.
- Assemble beveled gasket (F) to pressure vessel outlet shank so that lock nut is enclosed in recess, making sure that the entire surface of the gasket is in contact with the tank bottom.
- Place two-channel pads (I) in recesses on the back of the bowl ledge to prevent china-to-china contact.
- Place tank assembly in position. USE NO PUTTY. Plastic wing nuts (E) are tightened by hand sufficiently to prevent rocking. Since the tank bolts are already sealed, the tank can be leveled by the relative amount that each wing nut is pulled down on the three points of contact: beveled gasket (F) and two channel pads (I).
- Connect the supply line (K) (not included).
- DO NOT USE PIPE DOPE OR TOOLS ON PLASTIC PARTS! HAND TIGHTEN ONLY! OVER TIGHTENING MAY SPLIT THE FILL VALVE OR DAMAGE THE BRAIDED HOSE (NOT INCLUDED) AND WILL VOID THE WARRANTY!
- When you turn the water supply on, you will hear the water flow into the tank. Complete fill takes between 60 and 90 seconds before the pressure vessel tank is ready to be flushed. NOTE: Time must be allowed for this refill after every flush.
- For best actuating performance, at rest there should be an approximate 1/16" gap between the actuator rod and the adjuster. If it is necessary to make this adjustment, it should be done with water supply attached and unit pressurized. Loosen set screw in top center and rotate adjuster to give the required gap and re-tighten set screw.
- Plastic bolt caps and plastic washers (H) are provided to be used as indicated in the illustration.
Important Notes and Warnings
ATTENTION: DO NOT EXPOSE PLASTIC TRIM PARTS TO STRONG OXIDIZING AGENTS, CHLORINE, OR ACID LEVELS OF LOWER THAN 5.0 pH. SOME BOWL/TILE CLEANERS CONTAIN SUCH AGENTS. TANK TYPE BOWL CLEANERS CAN CAUSE TANK COMPONENT FAILURE AND DAMAGE. OUR WARRANTY EXCLUDES SUCH FAILURES.
Gerber will not be responsible for the use of non-original parts during installation or repair.
