IKEA Bed Buying Guide

A good day starts with a good night's sleep. The right bed can significantly impact how you feel when you wake up. This guide presents our range of beds, including bed frames with and without storage, sofa beds, high beds, bunk beds, and bed combinations. You'll also find accessories like headboards and bed boxes. No bed is complete without a mattress and bedding. Find the best mattress for you in the mattress department. Bed Frames

A good bed frame provides a foundation for a comfortable sleep. Choose from various styles, materials, and functionalities.

You can add PLATSA wardrobes to the bed frame to create storage. Here are some favorite combinations. More can be found in the PLATSA buying guide. Slatted base, feet, and SPILDRA top panel included. SKORVA midbeam not needed. Add a 120x200 or 140x200 cm mattress.

Slatted Bed Bases

Slatted bed bases are essential for spring and foam mattresses. They increase mattress durability and comfort by absorbing most of the load. Some slatted bases allow you to adjust the firmness.

LURÖY Slatted Bed Base

Sofa Beds

Sofa beds can be extended into double beds. Add two foam or spring mattresses, 80x200 cm. Slatted bed base included, SKORVA midbeam not needed.

Stackable, 2-set. Material: Pine.

Bunk Beds and High Beds

For children aged 6 and up. Bunk beds are essentially beds for two – with an upper and lower bunk. A high bed is for one person with space underneath for storage, play, or homework. Both types are single beds. High beds and upper bunks are not suitable for children under 6 years old due to the risk of falling. High beds and upper bunks have a high guardrail for safety. The guardrail loses its effectiveness if the mattress is too high. Therefore, ensure the mattress in a high bed and upper bunk is of the correct thickness. Add a mattress of the correct size to the high bed and two 90x200 cm mattresses to the bunk bed. Slatted bed base included, SKORVA midbeam not needed.

High Beds

STORÅ High Bed Frame

Material: White-stained pine. The ladder can be attached to the right or left side. *Maximum mattress thickness: 19 cm. Minimum ceiling height: 270 cm.

SMÅSTAD High Bed with Desk and Storage

Material: White. *Maximum mattress thickness: 20 cm. Minimum ceiling height: 240 cm.

TUFFING High Bed

Material: Dark grey. You can use the space under the high bed for storage, a workspace, or a seating area. Slatted bed base included.

VITVAL High Bed

Material: White/light grey. Soft lines, stable ladder, and fabric guardrail. Personalize with textiles and accessories from the MÖJLIGHET series.

VITVAL High Bed Frame with Desk

Material: White/grey. Soft lines, fabric guardrail, and a desk with a convenient storage shelf. Personalize with accessories from the SKÅDIS series.

Bunk Beds

Add two 90x200 cm mattresses. For safety reasons, the maximum mattress thickness is specified for each bunk bed. High beds and upper bunks are not suitable for children under 6 years old due to the risk of falling. Slatted bed base included, SKORVA midbeam not needed.

TUFFING Bunk Bed

Material: Dark grey. A good solution for limited space. The bunk bed is lower than others, making it easier to make the beds. Slatted bed bases included.

MYDAL Bunk Bed

Material: Pine. The ladder can be attached to the right or left side. *Maximum mattress thickness: 19 cm.

VITVAL Bunk Bed

Material: White/light grey. Soft lines, fabric guardrail. Suitable for when you need a bed for two but have limited space.

Bed Combinations

Bed combinations are complete beds with everything needed for a good rest. The bed is high, and you lie on layers of mattresses and toppers. The bed base makes it easier to get in and out of bed, and the soft headboard provides comfortable support when reading or watching TV in bed. The covers on some of them can be removed, making them easy to keep clean. More information is available on IKEA.com and in stores.

DUNVIK Bed Combination

Classic bed with a soft, upholstered headboard – perfect for freestanding in the middle of the room. The cover can be removed and machine washed. Feet can be chosen separately (see page 12). Includes VALEVÅG pocket spring mattress and NISSEHOLM topper. The resilient foam makes the topper soft yet supportive. The topper is 5 cm thick and has a removable, washable cover. Pocket springs are individually wrapped and provide comfort zones that distribute body weight evenly and reduce pressure on hips and shoulders. BRYNILEN feet are included in these combinations.

SÄBÖVIK Bed Combination

Designed for comfort, for both sleeping and reading. Provides comfortable support where needed, is soft to the touch, and is cleverly packaged for easy transport. SÄBÖVIK bed combination, grey. Easy to take home as the bed is packed in two flat packages and one roll.

LILLFJÄLLET Bed Combination

With an angled headboard and extra upholstery for added comfort. The mattress can be adapted to your needs, and the removable cover is machine washable. Includes VÅGSTRANDA pocket spring mattress and NORDBERGET topper. The NORDBERGET topper with memory foam relieves pressure and provides comfort, ideal for those who move little during sleep as the topper contours to the body. VÅGSTRANDA is a 28 cm thick mattress with a double layer of pocket springs and seven comfort zones, plus a thick top layer of soft foam. Both the mattress and topper are rolled up for easy transport.

LILLFJÄLLET Bed Combination with Storage
