Meross smart garage door opener is a companion device for your existing garage door opener, supporting up to 3 garage doors.
Step 1: Understanding the Principle
The device works by connecting to your existing garage door opener's control terminals and sensors.
Diagram illustrates the setup for three garage doors. The Meross Smart Garage Door Opener is shown connected to the opener power head of each door and to the wall button terminals. A power adapter is connected to the device. An optional 'Additional Garage Door Sensor Kit' is indicated for each door, suggesting it's required for additional doors.Step 2: Download the Meross App
Download the Meross app from the App Store ?, Google Play ▶️, or Amazon Appstore ?️ and choose 'Smart Garage Door Opener' to begin.
Step 3: Power On the Device
Connect the device to power. Wait approximately 5 seconds until the status LED blinks amber and green, indicating it's ready for configuration.
Step 4: Connect to WiFi
Connect the device to your home WiFi network using the Meross app. Follow the app's wizard to select the number of garage doors you are setting up (Single Door, Two Single Doors, or Three Single Doors). This helps activate the correct ports automatically. You can adjust port activation later in the app.
Illustrations show three setup options: 'Single Door' with one port active, 'Two Single Doors' with two ports active, and 'Three Single Doors' with three ports active.Step 5: Connect the Sensor Cable
Connect the sensor cable to the activated port. Move the sensor to check if it is functional. If the sensor is not functional, contact support@meross.com.
Diagrams illustrate checking sensor functionality with two green indicators, confirming proper connection and operation.Step 6: Mount the Sensors
Find a suitable position on the garage door to mount the sensors. Ensure the distance between the two sensor parts is less than 1 inch when the garage door is closed, and they are well separated when the garage door is open. You can use the included double-sided adhesive tapes or screws for sensor fixation.
Diagrams show the recommended sensor placement on the garage door, illustrating the required distance of less than 1 inch when closed and separation when open.Step 7: Connect the Signal Control Cable
Power OFF both your existing garage door opener and the Meross smart device. Connect the signal control cable to the two terminals that connect to the wall button. The wire order does not matter.
Diagram shows wall button terminals with labeled connections: 'Common' and 'Radio or Push Button or Alternative or OP/CS or O/S/C'.Step 8: Deploy the Device
It is recommended to deploy the device on top of your existing garage door opener. If you have three single doors, place the device on the middle door opener. Use the provided double-sided adhesive tapes for fixation if necessary.
Diagram shows the Meross device mounted on top of a garage door opener, connected to a power cord.Step 9: Setup for Multiple Doors
If you have two or three single doors, repeat steps 5 through 8 for each additional door. An additional garage door sensor kit is required for the second or third single door.
Step 10: Final Power On
Power on both your existing garage door opener and the Meross smart garage door opener. The smart device will automatically reconnect to the Meross cloud service. Congratulations, you have completed all installation steps!

FAQ
Meross strives to ensure your satisfaction. For any questions about the Smart Garage Door Opener, please contact support@meross.com.
1. Is Meross MSG100 compatible with my garage door opener? Do I need accessory?
Visit www.meross.com/compatibility and choose your brand/model. If your model is not listed or requires an accessory, please email support@meross.com with the following information:
- (1) Your order ID.
- (2) Learn button color of your garage door opener.
- (3) Your opener brand and model.
- (4) An address for accessory shipment.
2. Why can I open or close my garage door, but the Meross app shows the wrong status?
This is likely due to the sensor not being well installed or being defective. Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Manually move the two sensor parts close (less than 1/4 inch apart) or separate them to check if the Meross app updates the status correctly.
- Ensure the sensor cables are well connected to the smart device. If the sensor wire is disconnected, the device will show the door as open. To test, you can short the two pins in the red connector; the device should then indicate the door is closed.
3. What shall I do when my Meross app is unable to control the added smart garage door opener?
Please check the following:
- Verify your main WiFi's internet connection is stable.
- Ensure the main WiFi's password has not been changed.
- Try factory resetting the device and reconfiguring its WiFi connection.
