Safety Information

General Safety: Read this manual carefully before installation and use. Keep instructions with the appliance. Users must be familiar with operation and safety features.

Installation:

• Wire connections must be made by a qualified technician.
• The manufacturer is not liable for injury or damage from improper installation or use.
• Minimum safety distance between hob and hood is 650 mm (refer to installation details for lower height models).
• If gas hob instructions specify a greater distance, adhere to that.
• Ensure mains voltage matches the rating label inside the hood.
• Disconnection means must be incorporated into fixed wiring per regulations.
• For Class I appliances, ensure adequate earthing of the domestic power supply.
• Connect the hood to the exhaust flue with a pipe of at least 120 mm diameter. Keep the flue route as short as possible.
• Comply with all air venting regulations.
• Do not connect the hood to ducts carrying combustion fumes (boilers, fireplaces).
• When used with non-electric appliances (e.g., gas), ensure adequate room aeration to prevent exhaust backflow. Negative pressure should not exceed 0.04 mbar.
• Air must not be discharged into flues used by gas or other fuel-burning appliances.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or service technician.
• Connect the plug to an accessible, compliant socket.
• Follow local authorities' regulations for fume discharging.

Important Cautions:

• Use only suitable screws and hardware. Improper fixing can lead to electric shock.
• Do not look directly at the light with optical devices (binoculars, magnifying glasses).
• Do not flambé food under the hood; this can cause a fire.
• Children over 8 and persons with reduced physical/sensory/mental capabilities or lack of experience may use the appliance if supervised and instructed on safe use and dangers. Ensure children do not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance by users must be supervised for children.
• Accessible parts can become very hot during use with cooking appliances.
• Clean/replace filters as indicated (fire hazard). Refer to the 'Maintenance and Cleaning' section.
• Ensure adequate room ventilation when the hood operates simultaneously with gas or other fuel-burning appliances (not applicable to air-only discharge).
• The symbol ♻️ on the product/packaging indicates it must not be treated as household waste. Dispose of it at a specialist recycling centre for electrical and electronic components to prevent negative environmental and health consequences. Contact local authorities or the retailer for recycling information.

Controls

The cooker hood has the following controls:

Warning: Button T1 (Power/Speed 1) will switch the motor to speed 1 before stopping it.

Use

This extractor hood is designed exclusively for domestic use to eliminate kitchen odours.

• Never use the hood for purposes other than those for which it was designed.
• Never leave naked flames under the hood when it is in operation.
• Adjust flame intensity so it is directed onto the bottom of the cooking pan, ensuring it does not engulf the sides.
• Deep-fryers must be kept under constant supervision when in use, as overheated oil may catch fire.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Activated Charcoal Filter: Cannot be washed or regenerated. Replace approximately every 4 months of operation, or more often with intensive use (W). (Diagram description: Shows a filter being replaced.)

Grease Filters: Clean every 2 months of operation, or more often with intensive use. These filters can be washed in a dishwasher (Z). (Diagram description: Shows grease filters being washed in a dishwasher.)

Hood Cleaning: Clean the hood with a damp cloth and a mild liquid detergent.

German (DE) Cleaning & Maintenance: Activated charcoal filter: not washable/regenerable, replace every 4 months or more if intensive use (W). Grease filters: clean every 2 months or more if intensive use, dishwasher safe (Z). Clean hood with damp cloth and neutral detergent.

Lighting

Replacement lamps can be obtained from Belling Customer Care. Details are provided at the end of the handbook.

Lamps belong to risk group 1 according to IEC/EN62471 at 20cm distance and to the 'no risk' group according to IEC/EN62471 at 30cm distance.
