- Step 2: Place the urn in the desired location, positioning its mouth over the pond or water feature.
- Step 3: Attach the included pipe/tubing to the barb on the back of the filter. Connect the other end to a compatible water pump (not included). A hose clamp (not included) can be used for a secure connection.
- Step 4: Plug in the pump and enjoy.
The installation process involves placing the filter urn, connecting it to a water pump, and ensuring the water flows correctly through the filtration media.
General Maintenance
Periodically clean the included filter mat and ceramic filtration rings. Cleaning is necessary when water begins to flow over the top safety overflow, bypassing the filtration media. To clean, rinse the media in a bucket of clean pond water.
Note: Rinsing filtration media with chlorinated tap water can harm beneficial bacteria. Always use pond water in a clean bucket designated for pond use only to prevent contamination.
The diagram illustrates the water flow through the pond filter system, showing the pump drawing water, sending it through the filter urn, and returning it to the pond. The filter urn contains filtration media, and water exits through the mouth of the urn.
