Setting Default User Parameters
Follow these steps to configure the device's default user parameters:
- Turn on the device ?. Review the factory settings below.
- Scroll through ALL parameters using the [LIMITES button].
- If applicable, adjust parameters using the ➕ or ➖ button.
- You MUST press the [LIMITES button] after each adjustment to confirm and proceed.
- Scroll to the end of the parameters, to the 2nd ~ symbol ([minutes]) and press the [LIMITES button].
- The device will automatically scroll through the new parameters.
- TO SAVE PARAMETERS – press the [SILENCE ALARMES button] without releasing it while briefly pressing the [LIMITES button] – "dEF On" will flash.
Restoring Factory Default Parameters
Note: User-defined default values are lost once factory defaults are restored.
- Turn on the device – "dEF On" will display.
- Press the [SILENCE ALARMES button] without releasing it while briefly pressing the button – "dEF OFF" will flash.
- Press the [POWER button] until the device powers off, then power it back ON.
Factory Default Settings
The values on the right are programmed into the Model 7500. Patient Safety mode is DISABLED unless the user enables it.

Activating Patient Safety Mode
- Turn on the device ?. Review the factory settings below.
- Scroll through ALL parameters using the [LIMITES button].
- If applicable, adjust parameters using the ➕ or ➖ button.
- You MUST press the [LIMITES button] after each adjustment.
- Scroll to the end of the parameters, to the 2nd ~ symbol ([minutes]) and press the [LIMITES button].
- The device will automatically check the new parameters.
- TO SAVE PARAMETERS – press the [SILENCE ALARMES button] without releasing it while briefly pressing the [LIMITES button] – "dEF On" will flash.
- Press the [POWER button] until the device powers off.
- TO SET – Press the [SILENCE ALARMES button] without releasing it while powering the device ON.
- "SEC On" will flash on the screen.
Note: To set the "Low O2" alarm below 85%, you must first set the default user parameters, then follow the procedure above.
Deactivating Patient Safety Mode
- Press the [POWER button] until the device powers off.
- Press the [SILENCE ALARMES button], then without releasing it, press the [LIMITES button], and finally the [POWER button].
- "SEC OFF" will display on the screen.
Data Collection and Download
Data Collection
- Turn on the device ?. Recording starts automatically.
- Note: Data less than one minute long is not recorded.
Downloading Data to a PC
Note: Patient Safety mode must be DISABLED.
- Press the [POWER button] until the device powers off.
- Connect the device to the PC using the 7500SC download cable.
- Initialize nVISION and select FILE > New Data Capture, then click the 7500 Oximeter option.
- On the 7500, press the ➕ and [POWER button] without releasing them – the message "PLA bAC" will display on the device during download.
- Once the download is complete, the device returns to normal operating mode.
To Clear Memory
- Turn on the device ?.
- Note: Patient Safety mode must be DISABLED.
- Press the [LIMITES button] until "CLr no" is displayed.
- Press the ➕ button until "CLr YES" is displayed.
- Press the [LIMITES button] to confirm.
- "dEL no" will display - press the ➕ button to display "dEL YES".
- Press the [LIMITES button] to confirm.
- "dnE CLr" confirms memory clear.
Device Overview
The Nonin Model 7500 features a clear display for SpO2 and pulse rate, along with indicators for alarms and power status. It includes dedicated buttons for navigation and control.
- Power (On/Standby) button: Controls device power.
- Silence Alarms button: Temporarily mutes alarms.
- %SpO2 Display: Shows the measured oxygen saturation level.
- Pulse Rate Display: Shows the measured pulse rate in beats per minute (bpm).
- Alarm Bar: Visual indicator for active alarms.
- Speaker: Audible alarm indicator.
- Sensor Connector: Port for connecting the patient sensor.
- Plus (+) button: Used for increasing values or navigating forward.
- Minus (-) button: Used for decreasing values or navigating backward.
- Limits button: Used for scrolling through parameters and confirming selections.
