EcoStruxure Panel Server

Product Overview

The EcoStruxure Panel Server is a versatile device designed for industrial automation and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It facilitates wireless connectivity, data acquisition, and management, enhancing operational efficiency.

Key features include support for Bluetooth® Wireless Technology and various communication protocols, making it suitable for diverse industrial environments.

Safety Information

DANGER: HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION OR ARC FLASH

Strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory during installation and operation:

Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

Product Description and Components

The EcoStruxure Panel Server is available in models such as PAS600L, PAS600T, and PAS600. The following lists the primary components:

Dimensions

The physical dimensions of the Panel Server are critical for installation planning:

Installation Requirements

The EcoStruxure Panel Server is designed exclusively for indoor environments and is not suitable for installation in wet or damp locations.

Vertical installation is permissible, provided that the ambient operating temperature is maintained within the range of -25 °C to +50 °C (-13 °F to +122 °F).

Wiring and Connections

Power Supply

The Panel Server requires an external power source for operation:

All connected cables must be securely linked to a single building earth ground. Recommended wire gauges range from 1.5-2.5 mm² (16-14 AWG), with terminal connections requiring a torque of 0.6 N•m (5 lb-in.).

Ethernet Connection

The device is equipped with two 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet RJ45 ports, designated as Ethernet 1 and Ethernet 2, for network connectivity.

RS-485 Modbus Port

A dedicated RS-485 Modbus port is provided for serial communication. Wiring involves connecting signals like D0/-, D1/+, and OV to the appropriate terminals, with recommended wire preparation including stripping to 7 mm (0.27 inches).

Digital Inputs

The Panel Server supports digital inputs. For dry contact inputs, an external 24 V power supply is necessary. If using potential contact inputs, an external supply is not required, allowing direct connection to pulse outputs compliant with IEC62053-31 standards.

Commissioning Process

Commissioning is an essential step to activate and configure the Panel Server's functionalities. This process is typically performed using the Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Power Commission (EPC) software.

The general steps involved are:

  1. Establish a network connection by linking your PC to one of the Panel Server's Ethernet ports.
  2. Launch the EcoStruxure Power Commission (EPC) software application.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts and instructions provided by the software. For comprehensive guidance, consult the EPC Online Help documentation.
