Battery
Caution: DO NOT allow the battery to drain completely, as this can reduce its lifespan and make reactivation difficult.
Battery Capacity Levels
Check the battery's current power level:
- Flip the battery's power switch to 'I'.
- Press the power display button to view indicator lights: 4 lights indicate a full battery, 1 light indicates a weak one.
Charging
When recharging is necessary:
- Remove the cover from the charging port next to the power switch.
- Connect the charger to its power cord and the charging port.
- Connect the power cord to a stable power supply.
- Turn on the battery and periodically check the charge level using the power display button. 3 or 4 lights indicate sufficient charge.
- When finished, disconnect the power cord and then the charger from the battery. Ensure the battery is properly inserted if removed.
Warning: DO NOT leave the battery connected to power once fully charged. Overcharging can cause overheating, reduced performance, or fires/explosions.
Activating and Deactivating the Display Panel
- With the battery on, hold the [Power Button] until the display panel activates. Perform this before using throttle or pedal assist.
- To deactivate, hold the [Power Button] again until the screen shuts down.
Warning: Simply deactivating the battery can also turn off the display. This abrupt power cut is NOT recommended and risks damaging components.
Manual Control
Ride normally with the display panel off or on. The Shimano shifters control the 3 front rings and 7 rear cogs. Use the levers to upshift or downshift.
Warning: Ensure the bicycle's crank is turning while shifting.
Pressing the [Up Arrow] button with the display on activates Pedal Assist Control (PAS) at Level 1. Pressing the throttle lever activates throttle control to top speed.
Pedal Assist Control (PAS)
PAS requires continuous pedaling to activate the motor, providing assistance. Default settings offer three levels and a 20 mph (32 km/h) top speed. Lower levels operate at 60% or 80% of the top speed.
PAS Levels (3-Level Mode)
Level | Speed (mph) | Speed (km/h) |
---|---|---|
0 | -- | -- |
1 | 12 mph | 20 km/h |
2 | 16 mph | 26 km/h |
3 | 20 mph | 32 km/h |
PAS can also be adjusted to five levels for finer control.
PAS Levels (5-Level Mode)
Level | Speed (mph) | Speed (km/h) |
---|---|---|
0 | -- | -- |
1 | 8 mph | 13 km/h |
2 | 11 mph | 18 km/h |
3 | 13 mph | 22 km/h |
4 | 16 mph | 26 km/h |
5 | 20 mph | 32 km/h |
PAS activates at Level 1 upon two pedal rotations. Press [Up Arrow] to increase level, [Down Arrow] to decrease.
PAS pauses automatically if you stop pedaling, press a brake lever, or exceed the current speed limit on a slope. It reactivates when pedaling resumes and speed is within limits. Shifting from Level 1 to 0 neutralizes the motor until [Up Arrow] is pressed.
Pressing the throttle while PAS is active engages throttle control. Turning off the display or battery stops the motor; manual operation resumes.
Throttle Control
The throttle lever on the right handlebar allows single-speed scooter-like operation. By default, it provides the bike's top speed (20 mph / 32 km/h) when the battery and display are on. Press the throttle to maintain speed without pedaling.
Warning: The bike may exceed its set speed on slopes.
Throttle control pauses if a brake lever is pressed or if the speed exceeds the set limit. It resumes when brakes are released and speed is within limits. Pedaling while using throttle activates PAS. Turning off the display or battery stops the motor.
