Controller Wiring Diagram

Communication Interfaces

RS-485: Supports up to 16 units (slave devices) and 16 control panels (master devices). The terminal is energised with 24 DCV, supporting up to 16 external devices with a maximum current of 500 mA. Exceeding this triggers overload protection.

Wi-Fi: The unit can be fitted with a 50 ohm remote antenna.

Connecting a Mobile Device

The BLAUBERG AHU application controls the fan. It is available via App Store, Play Market, or QR code.

Wi-Fi Technical Data:

  • Standard: IEEE 802.11 b/g/n
  • Frequency band: 2.4 GHz
  • Transmission power: 100 mW (dBm)
  • Network: DHCP
  • WLAN safety: WPA, WPA2

When the application starts, a "No communication with the device!" warning may appear if the device is not connected.

Connection Procedure:

  1. The unit operates as a Wi-Fi access point by default. Connect your mobile device to the unit's Wi-Fi access point (SSID: FAN + 16-character ID).
  2. The default Wi-Fi access point password is 11111111.
  3. Start the BLAUBERG AHU application.
  4. Navigate to Menu Connection At Home.
  5. Select Default connection if connecting directly without a router, or perform a network search if connecting via a router.
  6. Select the connection with the necessary ID.
  7. Edit connection settings if needed.
  8. Change the connection name and create a new password (0-9, a-z, A-Z). The default unit password is 1111.
  9. Confirm settings.

Unit Password Change

To change the unit password:

  1. Go to Menu Connection At Home.
  2. Select the connection and press the button.
  3. Enter and confirm the new password (valid characters: 0-9, a-z, A-Z).
  4. Press Change Password.

Wi-Fi Parameter Setup

To configure Wi-Fi parameters:

  1. Go to Menu Connection Wi-Fi setup.
  2. Press the Receive button to view current settings.
  3. Select Wi-Fi mode: Access point or Client.

Access Point Mode: Connects up to 8 devices without a router. Security options include Open, WPA PSK, WPA2 PSK, and WPA/WPA2 PSK.

Client Mode: Connects to a home router network. Requires entering router details (SSID, password) and selecting IP address type (DHCP or Static).

Special Setup Mode

Used to restore access if Wi-Fi or unit password is lost, or for other troubleshooting. Press and hold the Setup mode button for 5 seconds until its LED flashes. The mode lasts for 3 minutes before reverting to previous settings. To exit, press and hold the button again for 5 seconds.

Settings for Special Setup Mode:

  • Wi-Fi name: Setup mode
  • Wi-Fi password: 11111111 (unit password ignored)
  • Ethernet IP address type: DHCP
  • RS-485 address: 1
  • RS-485 transmission rate: 115200 baud
  • RS-485 stop bits: 2
  • RS-485 parity: none
  • Engineering menu password: 1111

Cloud Server Connection

Allows remote control of the unit via the Internet through a cloud server. This function is disabled by default.

Activation: Go to Menu Connection At home, select the unit, enter settings, and enable "Control through the cloud server".

Note: Loss of home router internet connection may temporarily disrupt unit communication.

Creating a Cloud Server Account

  1. Open the mobile app and navigate to MENU CONNECTION THROUGH CLOUD SERVER.
  2. Press the button to add a new account.
  3. Enter login, password, and email for recovery. Press ✔️.
  4. The app logs in automatically. Add a new connection by entering a unit name, ID number, and unit password (default: 1111).
  5. Confirm data by pressing ✔️.
  6. To exit the account, press .

Home Page

The Home Page displays the unit's status and sensor readings:

Indicators:

  • Connection Status: Shows current unit connection (home network or cloud server).
  • Operation Mode: Indicates the current mode (Ventilation, Heating, Cooling, Auto).
  • Filter Replacement Indicator: Alerts when filter replacement is due.
  • Alarm/Warning: Red indicates an alarm (serious error, unit shutdown), orange indicates a warning.
  • Electric Heater Cooling: Shows preheating/reheating status.
  • Boost Mode: Indicates Boost mode is active.
  • Fireplace Mode: Indicates Fireplace mode is active.

Sensor Readings:

Displays current temperatures and air quality parameters (Humidity, CO₂, PM2.5, VOC). The color of the indicator shows sensor status: gray (not detected), blue (working normally), red (signal exceeds pre-set value).

Control Buttons:

  • Unit On/Standby: Powers the unit on or off.
  • Selection of pre-set speed: Allows choosing predefined fan speeds.
  • Manual speed setup: Enables adjusting fan speed via a scroll bar.
  • Timer activation: Accesses timer settings (via Menu Basic Settings Timers).
  • Week-scheduled operation mode activation: Accesses schedule settings (via Menu Basic settings Schedule).

Basic Settings

Temperature

Navigate to Menu Basic settings Temperature.

  • Temperature setpoint: Select display units (°C or °F) and set the desired temperature for normal mode.
  • Operating mode: Choose between Ventilation (no temp control), Heating, Cooling, or Auto (automatic temperature management).

Temperature control is not available for units without heating, cooling, bypass, or rotary heat exchangers.

Air Quality

Navigate to Menu Basic settings Air quality.

This section allows setting thresholds for Humidity, CO₂, PM2.5, and VOC. If thresholds are exceeded, the fan speed increases. If sensors are inactive, a "Air quality management not available" message is displayed. Sensors can be enabled via the Engineering Menu.

Timers

Navigate to Menu Basic Settings Timers.

Configure timer settings for speed, temperature, Boost switch on/off delays.

Schedule

Navigate to Menu Basic settings Schedule.

Set up a weekly schedule with up to 4 time intervals per day for different operating parameters (speed, temperature). Adjustments can be made daily, for weekdays, weekends, or the entire week.

Date and Time

Navigate to Menu Basic settings Date and time.

View and adjust the current time (hh:mm:ss) and date (dd.mm.yyyy). Syncing with a mobile device is possible.

Filter

Navigate to Menu Basic settings Filter.

Set the filter timer (70-365 days) for maintenance alerts. Displays total unit operating time.

Connection Settings

RS-485 Setup

Navigate to Menu Connection RS-485 setup.

Configure RS-485 parameters: Address, Baud rate (default 115200), Stop bits (default 2), Parity (default none). Note: Incorrect RS-485 settings can affect external control and panel functionality.

Ethernet Setup

Navigate to Menu Connection Ethernet setup.

Configure Ethernet settings: IP address type (DHCP recommended, Static for manual entry), IP address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway. If no Ethernet adapter is detected, a message is displayed.

Engineering Menu

Access requires expert skills. Changes can cause unit malfunction. Default password: 1111.

Navigate to Menu Engineering menu to access various sub-menus.

Air Flow

Configure air flow values for Standby, Speed 1, 2, 3, Boost, and Fireplace modes. Standby air flow above 0% may disable temperature and air quality management.

Temperature

Select master sensors for temperature control (supply duct, extract duct, room). Configure minimum supply air temperature, winter/summer changeover, main heater type (electric/water), main heater control mode (manual/auto), and cooler type (discrete/analogue).

Cooler Control Mode

Options: Manual (on/off) or Auto. For analogue control, a 0-100% slider is available in manual mode. Settings for minimum time before OFF/ON and hysteresis are available.

Bypass/Rotary Heat Exchanger Control Mode

Configure control modes (close/run, open/stop, auto for discrete; manual/auto for analogue) and settings for bypass or rotary heat exchanger.

Freeze Protection

Details types of freeze protection for heat exchangers, activated when outdoor temperatures drop below -3°C. Includes protection by supply fan, bypass, and electric preheater.

Sensors

Lists available sensors (Main/External Humidity, VOC, CO₂, PM2.5) and their configuration. Includes settings for Boost switch, Fireplace switch, Fire alarm sensor, Water pressure/flow sensors, fan RPM, filter contamination control, and thermostats.

PID Controller

Adjust PID controller settings (Kp, Ki) to fine-tune control signal response for various functions like main heater, pre-heater, bypass, cooler, humidity, CO₂, PM2.5, and VOC.

Firmware

Displays current firmware version and date. Allows checking for and upgrading firmware via an internet connection.

Factory Settings

Resets all settings to factory defaults. May require re-entering network settings.

Engineering Password

Allows changing the engineering password.

Alarms

Displays active alarms (red) and warnings (black). Alarms indicate serious errors and shut down the unit; they require manual reset. Warnings indicate less critical issues and may reset automatically.

Alarm/Warning Codes

The following table lists various alarm and warning codes, their descriptions, and conditions for activation:

Mode Priorities

The system prioritizes operating modes based on a defined hierarchy. If a higher priority mode is activated (e.g., Fireplace ON), its air flow settings are used. If not, the system checks the next priority mode (e.g., Timer ON, Standby ON, Boost ON, Schedule ON, 0-10V input, manual speed setting, or air quality threshold increase), applying the corresponding air flow control logic.
