Introduction to Personalization
Personalization in your BMW is made seamless with your BMW ID and simple in-car login using a compatible mobile device. Saved personalization settings include seat and mirror preferences, personalized profile, and profile account welcome. Suggestions based on habits and more are automatically activated when using your paired vehicle or Digital Key. These individual vehicle settings are also synchronized to other BMW vehicles for ease of use.
If using the "Log in with BMW ID" method, be sure to download the most recent version of the My BMW App on your mobile device and log in to your account.

Step 1: Initiate BMW ID Setup
To begin this process, select the "Add BMW ID" option from the choices on the BMW ID/Driver profile menu.
Step 2: Scan QR Code
Then, scan the QR code using your mobile device's camera. The QR code will open the My BMW App.
Logging In and Linking Your Vehicle
Step 3: Log In via My BMW App
Then, log in with your BMW ID and follow prompts suggested on the My BMW App.
Step 4: Finalize Vehicle Addition
You may have to return to the vehicle tab and select "CONTINUE" to finish adding your BMW to the My BMW App.

Step 5: Link Vehicle Key
Be sure to select "Vehicle key" to link your BMW ID to your vehicle key. Select "Additional settings".
Step 6: Configure Data Privacy
In Additional settings, be sure to select the "Data privacy" option to enable each BMW service in your vehicle.
Data Privacy and Telephone Setup
BMW Services Configuration
Read through the BMW services and select the options that you wish to enable. It is important to note that some features in the vehicle may be affected if the data privacy options are not enabled.

Step 7: Pair Mobile Device for Telephone
Return to the SETUP menu. Complete additional settings if required. Then, tap on "Telephone" to pair your compatible mobile device. Be sure to enable Bluetooth prior on your device.

Tap on the mobile device you wish to pair.
You may receive a matching code to confirm on your BMW screen and mobile device. This may take a moment.
Finalizing Vehicle Addition

Step 8: Agree to Terms of Use
To finalize adding your vehicle on your device, follow prompts and agree to the "TERMS OF USE".
Step 9: Vehicle Sync Confirmation
The vehicle tab will appear, indicating that the vehicle and My BMW App are synced.
Step 10: Complete Setup
Return to the SETUP menu. Select "Finish" on the "Additional settings" menu to be returned to the profile menu. Now, the login personalization is complete.

Adding Digital Key
Step 11: Access Keys Menu
Return to the apps menu and select "Keys".

Step 12: Initiate Digital Key Addition
Now from the "Digital Key" menu select "Add" to pair the mobile device to the vehicle.

Step 13: Scan QR Code for Digital Key
Scan the QR code using your mobile device and select "Continue". This will require you to complete the BMW Digital Key synchronization on your My BMW App.

Step 14: Confirm on Mobile Device

Digital Key - Continued
Step 15: Set Up Digital Key Plus in My BMW App
Select the "Digital Key" or "Digital Key Plus" tile on the My BMW App. Then, follow the prompts in the app to set up the pairing process.

Step 16: Use Mobile Device as Key
Then, within the mobile device Wallet feature, select "Continue" and place the mobile device in the mobile device tray. With BMW Digital Key Plus, the mobile device does not need to be placed in the mobile device tray.

Digital Key Activation and Confirmation
Step 17: Finalize Digital Key Setup
Your display will confirm that the key has been activated. Select, “Finish” to finalize Digital Key Plus set up.

Step 18: Verify Paired Device
From here, you can see which mobile device is paired as the main key. You are all set to use your Digital Key.

Step 19: Check Driver Recognition Settings
In the "settings" menu within the "Driver Recognition" tab, you can see which items are paired to the BMW ID.
