PLACEMENT
Placement of each unit
Diagram: Illustrates the physical arrangement of system components. Components shown are: Tuner, Amplifier, Graphic equalizer (for SC-S375, S4750 models), Cassette deck, and Compact disc changer.
Note for front/center speakers: These speakers are designed for close proximity to TVs. If irregular coloring occurs on the TV screen, turn off the TV for 15-30 minutes to allow its demagnetizing function to work. If the issue persists, move the speakers further from the TV. Also, avoid placing magnetic objects near the TV, as this can cause irregular coloring due to interaction with the speakers.
Placement of speaker systems
Diagram: Shows an example setup for enjoying a Dolby Pro Logic Surround system and SFC function. The optimal listening position is slightly behind the center of a five-speaker setup, but can be adjusted for personal preference. The diagram depicts Front speakers (Left and Right), a Center speaker, the TV, and Surround speakers (Left and Right).
Speaker Placement Advice:
- Speaker placement significantly affects sound reproduction due to room acoustics.
- Placing speakers on the floor or close to walls can increase bass due to reflection. Adjusting speaker distance from walls can fine-tune bass levels.
- Avoid placing speakers facing hard walls or windows to prevent undesirable resonance or sound reflection. Curtains can help mitigate this.
- Keep speakers from turntables to prevent acoustic feedback (howling) caused by vibrations.
- Keep speakers away from sources of heat, high humidity, and direct sunlight.
CONCERNING THE REMOTE CONTROL
Method for use
Diagram: Depicts the remote control's transmission window and the main unit's signal sensor. It indicates that the signal is best received within a 30-degree angle to the left and right of the sensor, and at a distance of approximately 7 meters (actual range may vary). Obstacles should be avoided.
Notes:
- Ensure the transmission window and signal sensor are free from dust for optimal performance.
- Direct sunlight or strong light sources striking the signal sensor can affect operation. If problems occur, reposition the unit away from such light sources.
FRONT PANEL CONTROLS

EQUIPMENT CONNECTIONS
Connecting system components
Diagram: Illustrates the wiring required to connect various system components. This includes the Tuner, Amplifier, Graphic equalizer, Cassette deck, and CD changer.
Connection Steps:
- Connect the stereo connection cables (4 pcs.) between components. Stereo connection cables typically consist of White (L) and Red (R) connectors.
- For SC-S375, S4750 models only: Connect the stereo connection cables (2 pcs.).
- Connect the AC power supply cords (short thin type) for two components.
- For SC-S375, S4750 models only: Connect the AC power supply cord (short thin type).
- Connect the AC power supply cords (long thick type) for two components.
AC outlets of each unit:
- These outlets are intended for audio equipment only. Do not connect video equipment (e.g., TVs) to these outlets.
- Ensure that the total power drawn does not exceed the indicated power ratings when connecting multiple devices.
Concerning the cooling fan:
The cooling fan operates only when the unit is running at high output power levels.
"EQ/EXT" terminals of the amplifier:
Diagram: Shows the EQ/EXT terminals on the amplifier, labeled "OUT" and "IN". It also shows "Shorting pins".
When these terminals are not in use, ensure the included "shorting" pins are inserted.
Connecting external units
For detailed connection instructions for specific external units, refer to their respective instruction manuals.
A: Connecting a turntable, VCR and TV
Diagram: Shows how to connect a turntable (with a ground terminal), a VCR, and a TV to the Amplifier. Connections utilize stereo connection cables and video connection cables. The TV connection is shown to the "Rear panel of TV" with options for VIDEO, L, R, and S-VIDEO inputs.
Diagram: Illustrates connecting a second VCR (for playback only) or a laser disc player to the Amplifier. This involves AUDIO OUT/IN and VIDEO OUT/IN connections.
B: Connecting a second cassette deck (SC-S375, S4750 only)
Diagram: Shows the connection of a second cassette deck to the Amplifier and Graphic equalizer. Connections are made using LINE IN/OUT and TAPE REC/PLAY terminals with audio cables.
