- The device is now ready for use.
RAID Field Setting
Note: Changing RAID settings will erase any previously saved data.
Use the switch to select one of four connection options for the disks based on your needs:
- A) RAID 0 (Stripping/Striping): Data is written to both disks simultaneously and interleaved. Offers high read/write speed. Warning: Data loss occurs if one disk fails.
- B) JBOD (Separate Disks): Disks are reported as two separate drives in the system. The LED flashes based on the disk being written to.
- C) JBOD (Capacity Sum): Disks are reported as a single drive with the combined capacity of both inserted disks. Writing is sequential (one disk then the other). The LED flashes based on the disk being written to.
- D) RAID 1 (Mirroring): Data is duplicated across both disks. Both LEDs flash during writing, and only one LED flashes during reading. Data is not lost if one disk fails.
After connecting and powering on the case, press and hold the Reset button for 5 seconds to apply new RAID settings. Then, format the disks.
Four diagrams (A, B, C, D) illustrate RAID configurations using two switches labeled '1' and '2', representing different RAID modes: RAID 0, JBOD (separate), JBOD (capacity sum), and RAID 1.Power Supply
If the case is not sufficiently powered via the USB-C port, it is recommended to connect an external 5V power source (not included in the package).
Software Installation
Upon connecting the device to a computer (Windows 7/8/8.1/10 32/64bit or macOS 10.x and higher), the system will automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.
Note: The case surface may become warm during operation. This is normal and helps cool the internal electronics. Avoid covering the case.
New HDD Formatting
For correct device operation, new disks must be formatted. If a disk was previously used, formatting may not be necessary. Formatting will erase all existing data.
- Right-click on "My Computer" (or "This PC").
- Select "Manage".
- Click on "Disk Management".
- Select the HDD identified as "Unallocated" or "Uninitialized" with the inserted disk's capacity (capacity may appear slightly lower).
- If the disk is not initialized, right-click in the left pane and select "Initialize Disk".
- Right-click on the disk area and select "New Simple Volume", then click "Next".
- Leave the volume size at maximum and click "Next".
- Assign a drive letter and click "Next".
- Select "Format the volume with the following settings" (use default settings), click "Next", and then "Finish".
- The HDD will be formatted. Formatting time depends on HDD size. The HDD will then be visible in the system.
Recommendation: Save important or valuable data on multiple disks or other storage media.
