Grounding Instructions: This appliance must be connected to a grounded wiring system. The cord has an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. It must only be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded according to local codes and ordinances. ⚠️ WARNING: Improper connection of the grounding conductor can result in electrical shock. Check with a qualified electrician if unsure about grounding. DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG. Use only outlets with the same configuration as the plug. No plug adapter should be used.

This model is for household use only.

⚠️ WARNING: Do not use this product while on a ladder. Do not place the product where it can be stepped on, kicked, or pulled off an elevated surface while in use.

⚠️ WARNING: Do not use an extension cord with this product. Use may result in severe electrical shock, especially if the cord does not have a higher electrical rating, a three-prong grounding plug, or is not plugged into a GFCI-protected circuit. Safety precautions like keeping connections dry will not eliminate the danger.

Product Overview

Diagram Description: The cleaner unit features a Power Switch, Heater Switch (on ProHeat models), and Heat Indicator Light. The main components are the Vacuum Flex Hose with Grip/Trigger Unit, a 4" Cleaning Tool, the Solution/Clean Tank, and the Collection/Dirty Tank. The unit also has On Board Cord Storage and a Power Cord.

Product Features

Solution Tank

The translucent Solution Tank is located on the right side of the unit. To remove, grasp the indented handle and pull towards you, then tilt out. To fill, open the round cap. Add BISSELL Little Green Formula to the "FORMULA" fill line (8 oz.). Then, fill with hot (not boiling) tap water to the "WATER" fill line. Replace the cap before placing the tank back into the unit. Reinsert by placing the bottom first into the cavity, tilting, and pressing gently until it snaps closed.

Collection Tank

The translucent Collection Tank is on the left side. It is removed and replaced like the Solution Tank. Empty the Collection Tank after each use, when dirty water reaches the maximum fill line, or as instructed.

Vacuum Flex Hose with Grip/Trigger Unit

The hose stores in the on-board hose storage on the back of the unit. Cleaning tools attach to the Grip/Trigger unit.

Power Cord

The cord, with a three-prong grounded plug, stores in the On Board Cord Storage at the bottom of the unit. Unwrap the cord completely before operating.

Built-in Heater (ProHeat Models)

Models with the ProHeat feature have a built-in heater to raise water temperature for improved cleaning. Turn the Power Switch ON, then the Heater Switch ON. The Heat Indicator Light will illuminate within 30 seconds when the correct temperature is reached. Begin cleaning by depressing the Spray Trigger. Wait 5-10 seconds for the solution to travel through the hose before applying to carpet or upholstery.

Specialized Cleaning Tools

Depending on your model, your Little Green may include one or more of these tools:

  • 4" wide Cleaning Tool: For cleaning carpet, upholstery, and spot cleaning.
  • Spraying Crevice Tool: For cleaning in tight areas.
  • 6" wide Cleaning Tool: For larger areas.
  • TurboBrush Cleaning Tool: Features a rotating brush for extra cleaning action on small areas, upholstery, and stairs. (Note: Ensure the switch is in the "BRUSH" position for brush action, and "SUCTION" for vacuuming.)

To order optional tools, refer to the "Part Numbers and Descriptions" section.

⚠️ WARNING: Use only BISSELL Little Green formula. Formulas with lemon or pine oil may damage the appliance and void the warranty. Chemical spot cleaners or solvent-based soil removers should not be used as they may react with plastic materials, causing cracking or pitting.

How To Deep Clean Carpet or Upholstery

Getting Ready

  1. Remove the Vacuum Flex Hose from On Board Hose Storage.
  2. Attach the desired tool (4" Tool, TurboBrush, or Crevice Tool) to the Grip/Trigger Unit by pressing it firmly until the button snaps into place. Ensure it is securely attached.
  3. Unwrap the Power Cord completely and plug into a 120 Volt, 60 Hz grounded outlet as described in the Safety Instructions.
  4. Turn the Power Switch to the ON position.
  5. If your Little Green has a built-in heater, refer to specific instructions.
  6. Press and hold the Spray Trigger on the Grip/Trigger unit. Spray will start in a few seconds.
  7. Slightly raise the tool to check for spray. If no spray occurs, press firmly on the front of the Solution Tank while depressing the Spray Trigger.

Pre-treating

For stained or highly soiled areas:

  1. Hold the flex hose with the attached tool above the carpet or upholstery. Pull the trigger to spray cleaning solution.
  2. Wait 3-5 minutes before cleaning.

Deep Cleaning

  1. Place the tool directly on the soiled surface. Apply downward pressure and pull towards you while pulling the trigger to spray cleaning solution.
  2. Repeat, keeping the tool firmly against the surface, until no more dirt can be removed. Do not overwet.
  3. If using the TurboBrush, ensure the switch is in the "BRUSH" position for brush action. For vacuuming, move the switch to the "SUCTION" position to remove dirt and solution. You can alternate between "BRUSH" and "SUCTION" for optimal cleaning.
  4. Release the spray trigger. Vacuum the area until no more cleaning solution can be removed.
  5. If the tool stops spraying, turn the Power Switch OFF and check the cleaning solution level. Refill if needed. Never run dry.

Deep Cleaning Upholstery

  1. Check the manufacturer's tag before cleaning. Tags marked "W" or "WS" indicate it is safe to use your Little Green. Tags marked "S" (with a diagonal strike-through) or "Dry Clean Only" mean do not proceed.
  2. If the tag is missing or uncoded, consult your furniture dealer.
  3. If possible, check the upholstery stuffing. Colored stuffing may bleed through the fabric when wet.

Tip: Deep cleaning stairs and high-traffic areas regularly can prolong carpet life.

Tip: Check upholstery stuffing before cleaning; colored stuffing may bleed through fabric when wet.

When You're Done

  1. Turn the Power Switch to the OFF position.
  2. Unplug the Power Cord from the outlet.
  3. Remove and rinse the Solution Tank, then replace it. (Note: If a significant amount of solution remains, it can be left for the next cleaning task.)
  4. Remove the Collection Tank, fill with clean water, rinse thoroughly, discard, and replace.
  5. Disconnect the tool from the Grip/Trigger unit by pushing down on the button lock and pulling straight off. Do not twist tools to remove them.
  6. Clean the tools: Rinse 4", 6", or Crevice tools under clean running water. For the TurboBrush tool, ensure the switch is in the "SUCTION" position before rinsing under clean running water.
  7. Check the Spray Nozzle for accumulated dirt or debris. Clean with a soft bristle brush if necessary.

Tip: Before turning off the cleaner, vacuum up clean water to thoroughly rinse the Vacuum Hose. Lift the tool and point it upwards to allow any remaining water in the hose to flow into the Collection Tank.

⚠️ WARNING: Keep face away from spray. Failure to do so may result in personal injury.

Storage

  1. Wipe all surfaces with a soft cloth.
  2. Wrap the Power Cord around the Onboard Cord Storage at the bottom of the unit.
  3. Wrap the Vacuum Flex Hose around the Onboard Hose Storage and secure the Grip/Trigger.
  4. Store the cleaner in a protected, dry area at room temperature (40° to 110°F).

Note: For Little Green TurboBrush Models, on-board storage for the TurboBrush Tool is provided on the back of the unit. Attach the TurboBrush to the unit by pressing it onto the holder firmly until the button snaps into place.
