Step 5: Remove Scuff Plate

Remove driver's side scuff plate.

Step 6: Remove Steering Column Cover

Remove (2) Phillips screws from the lower steering column cover. Carefully dislodge the lower steering column cover tabs and remove cover.

Step 7: Remove Kick Panel

Remove the driver's side kick panel. Unscrew and remove kick panel nut. Insert a plastic panel tool under the kick panel and carefully pry rearward to disengage the snap clips ?.

Step 8: Remove Ignition Switch Connectors

Remove ignition switch connectors.

NOTE: When connecting and disconnecting the ignition switch harness connector from the ignition switch, be sure to support the ignition switch assembly as shown. This will help to prevent breaking of the switch assembly, and applying unnecessary pressure to the actual switch contacts.

Installing the Security System

1. Mounting the L.E.D. / Valet Switch

A. Locate the flat area of the dash to the left of the steering column.

B. Carefully drill a 5/16" diameter hole approximately 1 1/2" down and 3/4" to the left of the edge of the panel as shown. (Drill 5/16" opening here ?️).

C. Remove the knurled mounting nut from the back of the switch, pass the wires through the hole, then secure the switch with the knurled nut. The L.E.D. indicator light will be visible.

2. Preparing the L.E.D. / Valet Switch Connector

A. Locate the 4-pin Molex connector found in the hardware bag included in the kit.

B. Carefully plug the terminals at the ends of the 4 wires from the switch into the connector housing as shown.

IMPORTANT! Be sure to align the terminal correctly before inserting it into the connector housing.

3. Mounting the Shock Sensor Module

A. Use (2) of the short black cable ties provided in the hardware bag, and secure the shock sensor to the main vehicle harness behind the J/B towards the driver's kick panel. Set the sensitivity knob to position 2.

IMPORTANT NOTE! Be sure to pass the cable ties through the holes in the upper and lower mounting tabs of the shock sensor, then around and securing to the main harness. Failure to do this could cause the shock sensor to become loose and fall by the driver's feet, seriously affecting the driver's ability to control the vehicle.

4. Mounting the Main Control Module

A. Secure the main module to the dash brace at the left side of the steering column, using the long cable ties and adhesive pad provided in the hardware bag. Be sure to pass the cable ties through the slots in the module mounting tabs to ensure the module remains in place.

5. Mounting the Hood Pin Switch Bracket

A. Remove the existing 10 mm hex head bolt in the driver's side front fender.

B. Place the pin switch bracket in place, then replace and tighten the bolt securely.

C. Thread the pin switch into the bracket, and tighten securely.

D. Route wire through grommet and seal with silicone to prevent leakage.

6. Routing the Main Harness

A. Route the portion of the harness which includes the Brown, Green w/ Red, and Blue wires to the driver's side JB. Route the 8-pin ignition connectors over the steering column to the ignition switch.

B. Secure the main harness along its routing with the cable ties provided. Be sure that the harness is clear of all sharp and moving objects.

7. Installing the Shock Sensor Harness

A. Plug the 5-pin end of the harness into the mating connector on the main control module.

B. Route the harness towards the shock sensor, where it will not interfere with any sharp or moving objects.

C. Secure the harness along the routing path using the cable ties provided.

IMPORTANT! Make sure that the brake pedal, accelerator pedal, and accelerator pedal linkages are free and clear of all security harnesses.

8. Connecting the Security System Harness

A. Carefully follow the wiring diagram and factory connector details found on the following two pages.
