Installation Instructions

Product Overview and Specifications

The Philips Dynalite DDNG-KNX is a KNX Network Gateway designed for lighting control systems.

Connection Terminals and Wiring

The gateway features several connection terminals for system integration:

Internal Connections (Diagram 2):

  • Microprocessor (μP):
  • SHLD: Shield connection
  • GND: Ground
  • DyNet D+: DyNet Data Plus
  • DyNet D-: DyNet Data Minus
  • +12V: 12V Power Supply (draws ≤15 mA)
  • AUX/UL924: Auxiliary/UL924 connection

KNX Port:

  • + : KNX Power Plus
  • - : KNX Power Minus
  • (KNX operates at 21-30 V, ≤10 mA)

Wiring Specifications (Diagram 3, 5, 6):

For KNX and RS-485 DyNet connections, use cables with a cross-sectional area of 0.3-2.5 mm² (22-12 AWG).

Ensure a torque of 0.4 Nm (3.5 Lb-in) when securing wires.

The maximum recommended cable length for RS-485 DyNet is <20 meters.

Service Switches (Diagram 4):

The device includes service switches and LEDs:

  • SERVICE LED SW: Service switch for LED status
  • SERVICE SW LED: Service switch for general function

These switches can be set to positions 0 or 1.

System Integration (Diagram 5):

The gateway connects to both KNX and RS-485 DyNet networks, facilitating communication between these systems.

Example Connections:

KNX devices are connected to the KNX port.

RS-485 DyNet devices are connected to the corresponding terminals (SHLD, GND, D+, D-, +12V, AUX/UL924).

Important Notes

This is a Class A product. In a domestic environment, this product may cause radio interference. The user may be required to take adequate measures to mitigate such interference.
