ResMed ClimateLineAir 11 Heated Tubing User Guide
This guide provides essential information for the setup, use, and maintenance of the ResMed ClimateLineAir 11 heated tubing.
About the ClimateLineAir 11
CAUTION: In the US, Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
Intended Use
The ClimateLineAir 11 is a heated breathing tube designed to deliver air to a compatible mask for home and hospital use. When used with the device humidifier, it enables the Climate Control feature.
Please read this user guide along with your device's user guide before using the ClimateLineAir 11 heated air tubing.
Notes:
- Not all types of air tubing are available in all regions.
- The ClimateLineAir 11 is the only heated tubing compatible with the Air11™ device.
Setting Up
To set up the device and tubing:
- Ensure the device is connected and turned on.
- Hold the cuff of the heated air tubing and align it with the air outlet connector at the rear of the device.
- Push the cuff firmly into place. The device screen will briefly display "ClimateLine connected".
- Connect the assembled mask to the free end of the heated air tubing.
Note: The electrical connector end of the heated air tubing is only compatible with the air outlet at the device end and should not be fitted to the mask.
Device Settings
Climate Control
Climate Control is designed to enhance therapy comfort by maintaining a constant temperature and humidity level. This feature:
- Delivers comfortable humidity and temperature during therapy.
- Maintains set temperature and relative humidity during sleep to prevent dryness in the nose and mouth.
- Can be set to either Auto or Manual.
- Is only available when both the ClimateLineAir 11 and HumidAir 11 are attached.
Climate Control - Auto Setting
Auto is the recommended and default setting, designed for ease of use without requiring manual adjustments to temperature or humidity. It:
- Sets the tube temperature to Auto (80°F/27°C). You can adjust the tube temperature from 60°F to 86°F (16°C to 30°C) or turn it off if the air in the mask is too warm or too cold.
- Adjusts humidifier output to maintain a constant, comfortable humidity level of 85% relative humidity.
- Protects against rainout (water droplets in the heated air tubing and mask).
Climate Control - Manual Setting
Manual offers more flexibility and control, allowing you to:
- Adjust temperature and humidity independently to find the most comfortable setting.
- If rainout occurs, try increasing the tube temperature first.
- If the air becomes too warm and condensation persists, try decreasing the humidity.
Note: If Climate Control is set to Manual, the Auto Tube Temperature setting is not available.
Humidity Level
The humidifier moistens the air for increased therapy comfort.
- If you experience a dry nose or mouth, increase the humidity.
- If you notice moisture in your mask, decrease the humidity.
You can set the Humidity Level to Off or between 1 (lowest) and 8 (highest).
To update settings, tap MY OPTIONS on the Home screen, navigate to the desired setting, and select it. Refer to your device user guide for more details.
Cleaning and Caring for Your Tubing
WARNING: Clean the device and its components according to the schedules in this guide to maintain device quality and prevent germ growth that could adversely affect your health.
CAUTION:
- Do not use bleach, chlorine, aromatic solutions, moisturizing or antibacterial soaps, or scented oils. These can cause damage or affect performance and reduce product lifespan. Exposure to smoke, ozone, or other gases may also damage the device. Damage from these causes is not covered by ResMed's limited warranty.
- If any component shows visible deterioration (cracking, discoloration, tears, etc.), it should be discarded and replaced.
Disconnecting
- Pinch the cuff of the air tubing and gently pull it away from the device.
- Hold the cuff of the air tubing and the mask swivel, then gently pull apart.
Note: Only hold and pull the cuff of the air tubing. Do not hold or pull the tubing itself, as this may cause damage.
Cleaning
These instructions are for home cleaning. For reprocessing devices intended for multi-patient reuse, refer to the clinical guide.
Clean the air tubing weekly:
- Wash the air tubing in warm water with a mild household dishwashing liquid. Do not wash at temperatures above 131°F (55°C). Do not use a washing machine or dishwasher.
- Rinse the air tubing thoroughly with water.
- Allow to dry out of direct sunlight and/or heat.
Checking
Regularly check the air tubing for damage. If there are any holes, tears, or cracks, replace it.
Reassembly
When the air tubing is dry, reconnect it to the device:
- Connect the air tubing firmly to the air outlet on the rear of the device.
- Connect the free end of the air tubing firmly to the assembled mask.
Troubleshooting
For any problems, refer to the troubleshooting section of your device user guide or visit www.resmed.com.
Report any serious incidents related to this device to ResMed and the competent authority in your country.
