Models: CAM51025MB, CAM51035M, CAM51015B

Electric Characteristics: 120V~ 60 Hz 1500 Watts

Important Safeguards

When using any electrical appliance, observe basic safety precautions:

  • Read all instructions carefully.
  • Ensure your electrical system voltage matches the machine's rating.
  • Avoid touching hot surfaces; use handles or knobs.
  • To prevent fire, electric shock, or injury, do not immerse the cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquids.
  • Keep the appliance out of reach of children and do not leave it unattended during operation.
  • Disconnect the plug from the power outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
  • Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug, or after faulty operation. Contact De'Longhi Customer Service.
  • Use only manufacturer-recommended accessories.
  • Do not use the machine outdoors.
  • Ensure the power cord does not hang over edges to prevent entanglement.
  • Do not place the machine near electric stoves or cooking surfaces.
  • Plug into a wall outlet. To disconnect, turn the machine OFF first, then remove the plug.
  • Use the machine only for its intended household purpose. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage from improper use.
  • WARNING: Do not remove covers or attempt repairs yourself; this voids the warranty. Repairs must be done by authorized personnel.

Save these instructions.

Short Cord Instructions

A short power cord reduces entanglement risks. Longer, detachable cords or extension cords may be used if handled with care. Ensure the extension cord's electrical rating is at least as great as the appliance's. If the appliance has a 3-wire grounding cord, use a 3-wire grounding extension cord. Arrange cords to prevent tripping hazards.

The product features a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other) for safety; it fits the outlet only one way. If it doesn't fit, try reversing it. If it still doesn't fit, contact an electrician to replace the outlet.

Before Use

Checking the Appliance

After unpacking, verify the product is complete and undamaged, and all accessories are present. Do not use if visibly damaged; contact De'Longhi Customer Services.

Installing the Appliance

Follow these safety warnings:

  • The machine generates heat. Allow at least 1.18 in / 3 cm clearance on the sides and rear, and 5.6 in / 15 cm above the machine.
  • Prevent water from entering the machine to avoid damage. Do not place near taps or sinks.
  • Do not install where temperatures can drop below freezing, as water inside could freeze and damage the appliance.
  • Arrange the power cord to prevent damage from sharp edges or hot surfaces. Adjust cord length and store excess.

Connecting the Appliance

Verify the mains voltage matches the rating plate. Connect to an efficiently earthed socket with at least a 10A rating. If the socket is incompatible, have it replaced by a qualified professional.

Rinse all removable accessories that contact water with hot water before first use. The machine may be noisy initially as the water circuit fills; noise decreases as it fills. Traces of coffee in the grinder are normal from factory testing.

Carafe (S) (Some Models Only)

Ensure the carafe (S) is clean and empty before brewing. Residual coffee can affect taste and cause overflow. Lock the carafe lid and place it under the coffee spout.

Pre-heating

Pre-heating the carafe or cup is recommended for best results. A pre-heated carafe helps maintain optimal coffee temperature for longer. To pre-heat, fill with hot water, wait 30 seconds, then empty.

Cleaning the Carafe

After each use and before brewing, empty the carafe. Rinse the carafe and lid under warm running water. Wash regularly with warm, soapy water and a soft brush. Rinse and dry. Do not use abrasive pads or cleaners that could scratch the surface.

Cleaning

Important: Turn off and unplug the appliance before cleaning. Do not use solvents, abrasive detergents, or alcohol. Avoid metal objects for removing coffee deposits, as they can scratch surfaces. The disposal water container (P), coffee grounds container (Q), and carafe (S) are dishwasher safe; other parts are hand-wash only.

Regular Cleaning of Parts:

  • Coffee Grounds Container (Q): The (grounds) icon lights up when full. Remove the tray assembly (L), empty and clean the grounds container thoroughly. Some coffee residue in the unit or near the infuser is normal. The appliance cannot be used until the grounds container is clean. Empty it every two to three days, even if not full.
  • Disposal Water Container (P): Empty and clean with a damp cloth and mild washing-up liquid.
  • Drip Tray (R): The drip tray has a water level indicator (O). Empty and clean the drip tray before the indicator protrudes from the cup tray (N) to prevent overflow and damage. Note: When cleaning the drip tray, always empty the grounds (Q) and water (P) containers completely.
  • Infuser (I) and Draining Tray (Z): Clean the infuser at least monthly. Press the two red release buttons inwards, pull the infuser out, soak in water for 5 minutes, then rinse. Do not use detergents on the infuser. Remove coffee residues from the infuser housing. Extract, empty, and rinse the draining tray (Z), then replace it correctly. After cleaning, reinsert the infuser by sliding it onto the internal support and pushing the PUSH symbol until it clicks. Note: The infuser cannot be extracted while the machine is on. Ensure the machine is properly shut down.
  • Pre-ground Coffee Funnel (B): Check monthly for blockages. Remove coffee deposits with a brush. The funnel can be removed for better cleaning.
  • Water Tank (F): Clean regularly (monthly) with a damp cloth and mild washing-up liquid.
  • Coffee Spout (H): Clean regularly with a sponge or cloth. Check for blockages in the spout holes and clear with a toothpick if necessary.

Descaling

Descale the machine when the (descale) button lights on. Read descaler instructions carefully. Use only De'Longhi descaler. Improper descaling may void the warranty and damage surfaces. If spilled, dry immediately. The process takes about 30 minutes.

  1. Press and hold the (descale) button for 3 seconds. The (descale) icon lights up.
  2. Empty the drip tray (R) and coffee grounds container (Q). The (empty) icon lights up.
  3. Pour descaler into the water tank (approx. 3.5 fl oz / 100ml pack) and add water (approx. 35 fl oz / 1 liter). Replace the water tank.
  4. Place a container (min. 70 fl oz / 2 liters) under the coffee spout (H).
  5. Press the (brew) button. The (brew) button blinks, and the (heat) and (water) icons light up.
  6. The descaling program starts, dispensing descaler liquid through the spout. Rinsing and pausing cycles remove scale residues.
  7. The appliance is ready for rinsing with clean water. The (rinse) icon lights up. Empty the descaler collection container. Empty, rinse the water tank, and refill with fresh water to MAX.
  8. Empty the drip tray (R) and coffee grounds container (Q). The (empty) icon lights up. Fill with fresh water to MAX and replace.
  9. Place the empty rinse collection container under the coffee spout.
  10. Press the (brew) button. Hot water dispenses. The (heat) and (water) icons light up.
  11. At the end of the cycle, the (rinse complete) icons light up.
  12. After rinsing, remove the tray assembly (L), empty the disposal water container (P), and replace it. Empty the rinse water container, refill the water tank with fresh water to MAX, and replace it.
  13. The descaling cycle is complete; the appliance turns off.
  14. When restarting, the water alarm will activate, and the (brew) button will blink. Press (brew) to refill the circuit.

Note: An extra descaling cycle can be run by pressing the (descale) button for 3 seconds.
