Natural Pressure Release vs. Quick Pressure Release
- Natural Pressure Release: After cooking, pressure releases gradually as the unit cools. The unit enters Keep Warm mode. The float valve drops when pressure is fully released.
- Quick Pressure Release: Use only as instructed by a recipe. Turn the pressure release valve to the VENT position to release steam instantly. Some residual steam may escape when opening the lid. Tilt the lid away from you.
Pressurising
The control panel displays “PRE” as pressure builds. The lid locks for safety. Once full pressure is reached, the cooking timer begins.

Cleaning & Maintenance
Cleaning: Dishwasher & Hand-Washing
Clean the unit thoroughly after each use.
- Unplug the unit before cleaning.
- Wipe the cooker base and control panel with a damp cloth.
- The pressure lid, cooking pot, silicone ring, deluxe reversible rack, and Cook & Crisp Basket are dishwasher safe. Never immerse the cooker base in water.
- The pressure release valve and anti-clog cap can be washed with water and dish soap. Do not disassemble these parts.
- Wipe the crisping lid with a damp cloth or paper towel after the heat shield cools.
- For stubborn residue, soak the cooking pot, rack, or basket in water. Use a non-abrasive cleanser or liquid dish soap with a nylon pad or brush. Do not use scouring pads.
- Air-dry all parts after each use.
Removing & Reinstalling the Silicone Ring
To remove, pull the silicone ring outward from the silicone ring rack. It is reversible. To reinstall, press it back into the rack section by section. Keep the ring clean to avoid odors; washing in warm, soapy water or the dishwasher can help. It's normal for it to absorb smells from acidic foods. Consider purchasing an extra ring. Never pull the ring with excessive force, as this can deform it. Replace any damaged ring immediately.
Diagram Description: Diagrams show how to remove and reinstall the silicone ring from the pressure lid.
Troubleshooting Guide
Why is my unit taking so long to come to pressure?
- Cooking times vary based on ingredients and temperature.
- Ensure the silicone ring is fully seated and flush.
- Verify the pressure lid is locked and the pressure release valve is in the SEAL position.
Why is the time counting down so slowly?
- Ensure time is set in HH:MM format, not just hours.
How can I tell when the unit is pressurising?
- The display will show “PRE” when building pressure.
Steam coming from the unit during Steam function?
- This is normal. Leave the pressure release valve in the VENT position for Steam, Slow Cook, and Sear/Sauté.
Why can't I take the pressure lid off?
- The lid will not unlock until the unit is completely depressurized. Use the VENT position to release steam. Lift the lid at an angle after depressurization.
Is the pressure release valve supposed to be loose?
- Yes, the loose fit is intentional for easy transition between SEAL and VENT and for pressure regulation. Ensure it's fully turned to the correct position for the function.
Unit is hissing and not reaching pressure?
- Ensure the pressure release valve is in the SEAL position. If hissing persists, check that the silicone seal is fully in place and lies flat.
Unit is counting up rather than down?
- The cooking cycle is complete, and the unit is in Keep Warm mode.
How long does the unit take to depressurise?
- Time varies. Ensure the float valve has dropped before removing the lid. If it takes too long, unplug and wait for the valve to drop.

Helpful Tips
- Arrange ingredients evenly for consistent browning; shake halfway through if overlapping.
- Use parchment paper or foil for small ingredients that might fall through the nesting grill rack.
- Empty any remaining liquid from the pot when switching from pressure cooking to the crisping lid for best crisping results.
- Press and hold TIME arrows to adjust time faster.
- Use Keep Warm mode to maintain food temperature. Keep the pressure lid closed to prevent drying. Reheat cold food using Air Crisp.
