The BFP 20/21 fuel pumps (sizes 3 and 5) are designed for domestic oil burners of small to medium size, handling up to 42 l/h.

Functions
Operation
The fuel is drawn in through the suction inlet (S) and passes through the filter (H) to the gears, where pressure is increased. When voltage is applied to the solenoid valve, it opens to allow fuel to pass to the nozzle outlet.
By means of the diaphragm (D) in the pressure regulator (T), the pressure is kept constant at the value set on adjustment screw (P1).
- In two-pipe systems, excess fuel is returned to the return outlet (R) and to the tank.
- In single-pipe systems where the return outlet is blocked by a plug (R) and the screw (A) has been removed, the fuel is returned to the gears (see figure details).
Shut-off Function, Solenoid Valve (BFP 21)
When the burner switches off, the voltage to the solenoid valve is cut off, and the fuel flow to the nozzle outlet stops immediately. The BFP 20 does not have a solenoid valve. For systems using this pump, a separate shut-off valve must be installed on the nozzle line.
Priming
In two-pipe operation, the pump primes automatically through the restriction (O) to the return outlet (R). In single-pipe operation with the return outlet (R) blocked, priming must be done via the nozzle outlet or the pressure gauge connection (P).
Warranty
Danfoss cannot grant any warranty for pumps used outside the indicated specifications and with fuel containing abrasive particles.
Note! Do not mount the pump with the solenoid valve facing downwards. The solenoid valve must be replaced after 250,000 uses or 10 years (approved service life).
By changing the materials of our pump components, depending on the different fuel types, we guarantee that all product components are 100% biocompatible.
