Boost Mobile Device Unlocking Policy
The term "locked" signifies that a Device is exclusively usable with Boost Mobile on the Boost Mobile Wireless network and cannot be activated with any other wireless carrier. An "unlocked" Device offers freedom from network restrictions, allowing potential use with alternative wireless service providers.
Attempting to reprogram or activate your Device on another carrier's network, or altering its initial programming or settings, may prevent its reactivation for use with Boost Mobile services or other offerings.
Boost Mobile activates only Devices certified to operate with its services and does not unlock Devices from other carriers.

Devices on Postpaid Plans (“Postpaid Devices”)
For Postpaid Devices purchased from Boost Mobile, unlocking occurs after the completion of any financing plan. Devices purchased and paid for in full are eligible for immediate unlocking. In both scenarios, your Device will be automatically unlocked remotely within two (2) business days of becoming eligible, at no additional charge. If remote unlocking is not technically feasible despite meeting the requirements, you will be promptly notified that your Postpaid Device is eligible for unlocking.
Devices on Prepaid Plans (“Prepaid Devices”)
For current and former Boost Mobile customers in good standing who own eligible Prepaid Devices on Boost prepaid plans, unlocking is available one (1) year after initial activation, provided a reasonable time has passed and all payment or usage requirements have been met. Such Prepaid Devices will be automatically unlocked remotely within two (2) business days of eligibility. If remote unlocking is not technically feasible, you will be immediately notified of the Device's eligibility for unlocking.
Regarding Prepaid Devices, the terms "reasonable time" and "payment or usage requirements" entail:
- No Prepaid Device balance: Any financed Prepaid Device balance must be fully paid before the Device is eligible for unlocking.
- Account must be active: A Prepaid Device is ineligible for unlocking if the account is in "suspended" status one year after initial activation, until the "suspended" status is resolved.
- Not already unlocked: If a Prepaid Device has been previously unlocked by customer request (e.g., for international travel), it will not be automatically unlocked at the one-year mark.
Unlocking for Military Personnel
Boost Mobile recognizes and appreciates the service of U.S. military personnel. For those deployed overseas, Boost Mobile will unlock your Device if the following conditions are met:
- Boost Mobile is technically capable of performing an international SIM unlock for your Device.
- You or a family member on your account is an active member of a branch of the United States military.
- You or a family member on your account has received overseas deployment papers.
- You are a current, authenticated Boost Mobile customer.
- Your account is in good standing.
Military personnel deployed overseas can contact Boost Mobile to request an international SIM unlock by calling 833-50-BOOST (833-502-6678).
Boost Mobile reserves the right to refuse an unlock request, even if other conditions are met, if it is believed that such a request would lead to an abuse of policies, Terms & Conditions, or an attempt to defraud Boost Mobile or its customers.
