Device Initial Setup Process
Step 1: Factory Reset
To begin the setup, perform a factory reset on the device. The process involves the following screens:
- Welcome Screen: Displays "Hi there" and prompts for initial setup.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Select a Wi-Fi network and connect.
- Organization Notice: A screen indicating "This device belongs to your organization" may appear, prompting contact with an IT admin for more information.
- Google Sign-in: Skip the Google sign-in process.
Follow the "next" and "continue" prompts, connecting to a network and accepting device terms. Crucially, select "Skip" at the Google Sign-in screen.
Step 2: Continue Initial Setup
After the initial connection and skipping Google sign-in, continue with the setup process. You will encounter screens related to:
- Work Device Setup: Options to view terms for setting up a work device.
- Google Services: Configure Google services like location, scanning, and diagnostic data usage.
- App Pinning: A notification may appear indicating an app is pinned. This keeps it in view until unpinned by touching and holding the Back and Home buttons. Personal data may be accessible.
Close the App Pinning notification and use the back button to complete the initial setup.
Onboarding the MPC Application
The MPC application is automatically installed on the device. Follow these steps to onboard and configure it.
MPC Installation and Launch
The device will show various status indicators such as Internet connection ?, Bluetooth ?, Do Not Disturb, Location access, SIM card status, and Google Play Protect. The MPC app will be installed automatically. Open the MPC app to proceed with setup.
MPC Configuration
The MPC app onboarding involves several stages:
- Welcome Screen: The app displays a "WELCOME" screen. Press "BEGIN" to start the guided process.
- Grant Permissions: The app requires several permissions to function correctly. You will be prompted to grant permissions such as:
- Display Over Other Apps
- Usage Access (allows tracking of app usage)
- Modify System Settings
- Disable Battery Optimization
- Admin Permission
Grant all necessary permissions.
- Enter MPC Key: On the "WELCOME" screen, enter your MPC key in the provided box and press "CONNECT". The key is "Oeje". Note: 'O' is a number, not the letter 'o'.
- Accept Settings: Configure device settings as prompted, which may include locking access to specific apps (Play Store, Browser, Message App) and managing device content.
- Enter Credentials: You will be prompted to enter credentials. The Credentials are the Door Location ID (a 7-digit number).
- Confirm Device: Select the correct product model. The CELERO 5G+ should be auto-selected; if not, choose the desired device from the list.
MPC Loading and Retail Mode
