Warning & Safeguards
Stability Hazard
A television set may fall, causing serious personal injury or death. To avoid injuries, especially to children, take precautions:
- Always use cabinets, stands, or mounting methods recommended by the manufacturer.
- Always use furniture that can safely support the television set.
- Ensure the television set does not overhang the edge of the supporting furniture.
- Educate children about the dangers of climbing on furniture to reach the TV or its controls.
- Route cords and cables so they cannot be tripped over, pulled, or grabbed.
- Never place a television set in an unstable location.
- Never place the television set on tall furniture (e.g., cupboards, bookcases) without anchoring both the furniture and the TV to a suitable support.
- Never place the television set on cloth or other materials between the TV and supporting furniture.
- Never place items that might tempt children to climb (e.g., toys, remote controls) on top of the TV or the furniture it rests on.
If relocating an existing TV, apply the same considerations.
General Safeguards
- Safety and Operating Instructions: Read and follow all safety and operating instructions, and keep them for future reference.
- Heed Warnings: Adhere to all warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions.
- Cleaning: Unplug the TV before cleaning. Do not use liquid, abrasive, or aerosol cleaners, as they can permanently damage the cabinet and screen. Use a lightly dampened cloth.
- Wall Mount Bracket: Wall mount brackets are available for some models. If not supplied, they can be purchased locally. Refer to the "Installing the Wall Mount Bracket" page for dimensions.
- Water and Moisture: Avoid dripping or splashing liquids onto the product. Do not place objects filled with liquids (e.g., vases) above the product.
- Setting: Do not place the TV on an unstable cart, stand, or table. Use only carts, stands, brackets, or tables recommended by the manufacturer or salesperson.
Ventilation
Slots and openings provide ventilation to ensure reliable operation and prevent overheating. Do not cover these openings or place the TV in a confined space without proper ventilation. Maintain a minimum 10cm gap around the unit, and keep the rear of the TV 6cm away from the wall.
Power Source and Cord Protection
- Operate the TV only from the power source indicated on the marking label. Consult your appliance dealer or local power company if unsure about your home's power supply type.
- Route power supply cords to prevent them from being walked on or pinched. Pay attention to cords at the plug, wall outlets, and where they exit the TV. The main plug serves as the disconnect device and should be easily accessible.
Lightning and Power Lines
- For protection during lightning storms or when unattended for long periods, unplug the TV and disconnect the antenna/cable system to prevent damage from lightning or power surges.
- Do not locate an outside antenna system near overhead power lines or electric circuits, as contact can be fatal. Exercise extreme care when installing an antenna system.
Overloading, Object/Liquid Entry, and Grounding
- Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords, as this can cause fire or electric shock.
- Never insert objects into TV openings, as they may touch dangerous voltage points or cause short-outs. Never spill liquid into the TV.
- If using an outside antenna or cable system, ensure it is properly grounded to protect against voltage surges and static charges.
Servicing and Damage
- Do not attempt to service the TV yourself. Opening covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- If the power cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled, objects have fallen into the TV, the TV has been exposed to rain or water, or the TV does not operate normally, unplug it and refer servicing to qualified personnel.
- Adjust only controls covered by the operating instructions. Improper adjustments can cause damage and require extensive technician work.
- If the TV has been dropped or the cabinet is damaged, or if performance changes distinctly, it needs service.
Replacement Parts, Safety Check, Heat, Fire, and Off-gassing
- When replacing parts, ensure the service technician uses parts specified by the manufacturer or parts with identical characteristics. Unauthorized substitutions can lead to fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
- After service or repair, ask the technician to perform safety checks to ensure the TV is in safe operating condition.
- Position the product away from heat sources like radiators, heat registers, stoves, or amplifiers.
- Keep the product away from naked flame sources, such as lighted candles.
- The smell of plastic from the TV is normal and will dissipate over time.
Battery Handling
- Do not mix new and old batteries, or batteries of different types.
- Do not expose batteries to heat (e.g., direct sunlight, fire). Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity (+/-).
- The device should not be exposed to dripping or spraying, nor placed under objects filled with liquids.
- To disconnect the TV, remove the power plug from the wall socket. Ensure the wall socket and plug are readily accessible.
- Symbol Descriptions:
- AC Voltage: Indicates the rated voltage is AC.
- Class II Product: Indicates no safety connection to protective earthing (ground) is required.
Installation
Installing the Stand
CAUTION: Disconnect the AC power cord before removing the base stand or installing wall mount brackets. The TV screen is fragile; avoid scratches or damage from hard objects or pressure. Ensure the TV is steady on a table or wall-mounted before removing protective film.
For 43"/50"/55"/65"/75" Models:
- Place the TV face-up on a flat, protected surface.
- Remove the two stands from the accessory bag and insert them into the bottom slots of the TV.
- Secure each Base Stand to the TV using the provided screws: 4 screws (M4×16 for 43", M5×12 for 50"/55"/65") or 6 screws (M5×12 for 85").
For 85" Models:
Use screw holes 'A' if the table is long enough for the base stands. Use screw holes 'B' if the table is not long enough. Do not mix these two methods.
- Secure the Base Stand to the TV using M5×16 screws in either hole 'A' or 'B'.
Installing the Wall Mount Bracket
Follow the third-party manufacturer's instructions for the wall mount. Ensure:
- The TV is placed on a clean, safe, and cushioned surface.
- TV stands are removed if previously attached.
- For 50"/55"/65" models, nuts (M6×12) ×2 are tightened into the holes of the back cover.
- Spacers (not included) are placed between the TV and the bracket.
