Preparing the Oven

Run the oven empty for 20 minutes to burn off protective coatings on the heating elements. Ensure the area is well-ventilated as the oven may emit steam. This steam is harmless and will not affect the oven's performance.

  1. Remove packaging materials, promotional labels, and tape from the oven and dispose of them safely.
  2. Remove the crumb tray, wire rack, grill rack, roasting pan, and pizza pan from the foam packaging. Wash them in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
  3. Wipe the inside of the oven with a soft, damp sponge. Dry thoroughly.
  4. Place the oven on a flat, dry surface. Ensure at least 10 cm of clearance on both sides and 15 cm above the appliance.
  5. Insert the crumb tray into the oven.
  6. Unwind the power cord completely and plug it into an earthed socket.
  7. The oven will chime, and the LCD screen will illuminate. The function options will be displayed with an indicator for BAKE.
  8. Turn the FUNCTION dial clockwise until the indicator shows the PIZZA function.
  9. Press the START/CANCEL button. The button's backlight will turn red, the LCD screen will turn orange, and the oven will chime.
  10. A flashing "PREHEATING" will appear on the LCD screen. When the oven reaches the set temperature, a temperature alert will sound.
  11. The timer will be displayed and will automatically start counting down.
  12. When the cooking cycle is complete, the oven will chime, the START/CANCEL button's backlight will turn off, and the LCD screen will turn blue.
  13. The oven is now ready for use.

ELEMENT IQ™

The Sage Smart Oven™ Air Fryer features Element IQ™, a cooking technology that creates the ideal environment for the food you are cooking. It directs power where and when it is needed, whether for intense heat or even heat distribution. Each oven function comes pre-set with our recommended element configurations and temperatures based on recipes and testing. However, we encourage you to experiment based on your recipe, food quantity, and personal taste.

Quick Start Guide

OPERATING YOUR SAGE OVEN

  1. Position the wire rack so the wheels face upwards, and place the wire rack in your desired rack position. The rack positions are indicated on the oven door glass.
  2. Turn the FUNCTION dial until the LCD screen displays the desired setting.
  3. The top display on the LCD screen shows the pre-set cooking time for the selected setting. For TOAST and HAMBURGER settings, it shows the browning level. Turn the TIME dial left to decrease cooking time, or right to increase cooking time.
  4. The bottom display on the LCD screen shows the pre-set cooking time for the selected setting. For TOAST and HAMBURGER settings, it shows the number of slices. Turn the TIME dial left to decrease cooking time, or right to increase cooking time.
  5. For settings without a preheat cycle (TOAST, HAMBURGER, GRILL, REHEAT, WARM), place food directly on the wire rack or on the included pizza pan, grill rack, and/or roasting pan. Ensure food is centered in the oven for even cooking.
  6. Close the oven door.
  7. Press the START/CANCEL button. The button's backlight will turn red, the oven will chime, and the LCD screen will turn orange.
  8. The timer will be displayed and will start counting down. The cooking temperature and time can be adjusted during the cooking cycle.
  9. For settings with a preheat cycle (BAKE, ROAST, PIZZA, COOKIES, SLOW COOK), place food in the oven before preheating. The button's backlight will turn red, the oven will chime, and the LCD screen will display "PREHEATING" while the oven heats up.
    1. When the oven is ready, the flashing "PREHEATING" will disappear, the oven will chime, and the timer will start counting down. Ensure food is centered in the oven.
    2. Close the oven door.
    3. The timer will continue to count down. The cooking temperature and time can be adjusted during the cooking cycle.
  10. When the cooking cycle is complete, the oven will chime, the START/CANCEL button's backlight will turn off, and the LCD screen will turn blue.

NOTE

The cooking cycle can be stopped at any time by pressing the START/CANCEL button. This will cancel the cycle, and the backlight behind the button will turn blue.

NOT

Press the CONVECTION button to choose between no convection, convection, and super convection. Convection and super convection can adjust the temperature to provide faster airflow. Super convection will provide crispier food.

MAGNETIC AUTO-EJECT RACK

When the wire rack is positioned in the middle rack position, it will automatically eject halfway when the door is opened, allowing you to easily remove your food. To prevent the rack from ejecting too quickly, always open the door slowly when the wire rack is in this position.

LANGUAGE SELECTION

When the oven is first turned on, it will allow you to select your desired language. Turn the TEMPERATURE or TIME dials (clockwise or counter-clockwise) to select your desired language, then press the START/CANCEL button to confirm your selection. If the desired language is not confirmed within 5 minutes, the oven will automatically save the default language.

To change the selected language, press and hold the FROZEN FOODS button for 3 seconds. The LCD screen will display the language selection. Turn the TEMPERATURE or TIME dials (clockwise or counter-clockwise) to select your desired language, then press the START/CANCEL button to confirm your selection. If the desired language is not confirmed within 5 minutes, the oven will automatically revert to the previously saved language.

REPLACING THE OVEN LAMP

WARNING

Always unplug the oven and allow it to cool before replacing the bulb. Use only 25 Watt, 220-240V, G9 type oven bulbs.

  1. Remove the wire rack from the oven before replacing the bulb.
  2. The bulb is located on the left side of the oven cavity. Place your fingers lightly on the outside of the bulb socket and gently slide the glass cover off the bulb. If you cannot remove the cover, gently slide a spoon along the left side of the bulb socket and gently lift the glass cover. Support the glass cover with your other hand to prevent it from falling and breaking.
  3. Pull the used bulb straight out of the socket.
  4. Use a soft cloth to handle the new bulb. Do not touch the bulb surface directly with your fingers, as oil from your skin can damage the bulb.
  5. To reattach the glass cover, align the metal hook with the left side of the lamp socket. Slide the other end of the glass cover onto the metal support on the right side of the socket, then push the metal hook towards the left side of the socket until it is securely in place.

NOT

The top of the oven is very hot during and after operation. Therefore, it is not recommended to store items on top of the oven. The Sage Bamboo Cutting Board fits into the ribbed section on top of the oven.

For more information, visit www.sageappliances.com.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the power cord. Allow the oven and all accessories to cool completely before disassembling and cleaning.

CLEANING THE EXTERIOR AND DOOR

  1. Wipe the exterior body with a soft, damp sponge. A non-abrasive liquid cleaner or a light spray solution can be used to prevent stains from building up. Apply the cleaner to the sponge, not the oven surface, before cleaning.
  2. To clean the glass door, use a glass cleaner or a mild detergent and a soft, damp sponge or a soft plastic scouring pad. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as they can scratch the oven surface.
  3. Wipe the LCD screen with a soft, damp cloth. Apply the cleaning agent to the cloth, not the LCD surface. Cleaning with a dry cloth or abrasive cleaners can scratch the surface.
  4. Ensure all surfaces are completely dry before plugging the power cord back in and turning on the oven.

WARNING

Do not immerse the body, power cord, or plug in water or any other liquid, as this may cause electric shock.

CLEANING THE INTERIOR

  1. The interior walls of the oven have a non-stick coating for easy cleaning. Wipe the walls with a soft, damp sponge to clean up any splatters that occur during cooking. A non-abrasive liquid cleaner or a light spray solution can be used to prevent stains from building up. Apply the cleaner to the sponge, not the oven surface, before cleaning. Avoid touching the quartz heating elements.

WARNING

Exercise extreme caution when cleaning the quartz heating elements. Allow the oven to cool completely, then wipe along the length of the heating element with a soft, damp sponge or cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents or cleaning solutions. Ensure all surfaces are completely dry before plugging the power cord back in and turning on the oven.

CLEANING THE CRUMB TRAY

  1. After each use, slide out the crumb tray and discard the crumbs. Wipe the tray with a soft, damp sponge. A non-abrasive liquid cleaner can be used to prevent stains from building up. Apply the cleaner to the sponge, not the tray, before cleaning. Dry thoroughly.
  2. To remove baked-on grease, soak the tray in warm, soapy water, then wash with a soft sponge or a soft plastic scouring pad. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. After cleaning, ensure the crumb tray is replaced in the oven before plugging in the power cord and turning on the oven.

CLEANING THE WIRE RACK, GRILL RACK, ROASTING PAN, AND PIZZA PAN

  1. Wash all accessories in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge or a soft plastic scouring pad. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal scouring pads, or metal utensils to clean any of the accessories, as they may damage the surfaces.
  2. To extend the life of your accessories, we do not recommend washing them in a dishwasher.

STORAGE

  1. Unplug the appliance and ensure the oven is switched off.
  2. Allow the oven and all accessories to cool completely before disassembling and cleaning.
  3. Ensure the oven and all accessories are clean and dry.
  4. Ensure the crumb tray is inserted into the oven; the grill rack is placed in the roasting pan, and the wire rack is positioned in the middle rack height.
  5. Ensure the door is closed.
  6. Store the appliance upright in an upright position on its support feet. Do not store anything on top of it. The only exceptions are the optional Sage Bamboo Cutting Board and Serving Tray.

Troubleshooting

POSSIBLE PROBLEM EASY SOLUTION
Oven does not turn on
  • Ensure the power plug is securely inserted into the socket.
  • Plug the power plug into a separate socket.
  • Try plugging the power plug into a different socket.
  • Reset the circuit breaker if necessary.
LCD screen light is off
  • The oven enters standby mode after 10 minutes of inactivity. In standby mode, the LCD screen stops illuminating, but all function options remain visible.
  • To exit standby mode, press the START/CANCEL button on the control panel or turn any dial. The LCD screen will illuminate again.
Pizza does not cook evenly.
  • Some large pizzas may cook unevenly in compact ovens. Halfway through the cooking time, open the oven door and rotate the pizza 90 degrees for more even browning.
When I open the door, the Magnetic Auto-Eject Rack ejects too far.
  • To prevent the wire rack from ejecting too quickly, always open the door slowly and in a controlled manner when the wire rack is positioned at the middle rack height.
I cannot select the FROZEN FOODS button
  • The FROZEN FOODS button can only be selected for the following functions: TOAST, HAMBURGER, BAKE, PIZZA, AIR FRY. When selecting the FROZEN FOODS button, it will automatically adjust the cooking time for an optimized result.
Steam is escaping from the top of the oven door.
  • This is normal. The door is ventilated to release steam from high-moisture foods, such as frozen bread. Be careful, as the steam may be hot.
Heating elements appear to be pulsing.
  • Element IQ™ controls the heat in the oven by pulsing power in short bursts, directing heat precisely where it is needed. This is normal.
Water is dripping from under the door onto the countertop.
  • This is normal. Condensation from high-moisture foods, such as frozen bread, will run down the inside of the door and drip onto the countertop.
The temperature displayed on the LCD screen does not match the temperature measured inside the oven.
  • To ensure measurements are standardized, oven temperatures are calibrated with the oven at the TOAST setting (centered on the middle rack). Re-check the temperature in this position, ensuring the oven door is not opened for 30 minutes, as heat will escape each time the door is opened. Note that the "PREHEATING" alarm sounds at 75% of the target temperature.
"Preheat" warning sounds at a lower temperature than displayed.
  • The "Preheat" warning sounds at 75% of the target temperature. This process ensures the fastest possible preheat and cooking time. The alarm sounds when the user opens the oven door to place food inside during preheating, resulting in a significant temperature loss. If the alarm sounded at 100% of the target temperature, much of this waiting time would be wasted. By opening the oven door when the "Preheat" warning sounds at 75%, the target temperature is regained 2 minutes faster. Therefore, the temperature on the LCD screen will not match the target temperature indicated by the "Preheat" warning. In total, it takes approximately 8-10 minutes for the oven to operate, including opening the oven door when the "Preheat" warning sounds, to reach the target temperature.
LCD displays 'E01'
  • This indicates a problem that has not been reset. Immediately unplug the power cord and contact Sage Customer Service.
LCD displays 'E02'
  • This indicates a problem that cannot be reset. Immediately unplug the power cord and contact Sage Customer Service.
LCD displays 'E03'
  • If the oven temperature exceeds the set maximum limit, 'E03' will be displayed on the LCD screen. Unplug the appliance, allow the oven to cool for 15 minutes, then plug it back in.
  • If the 'E03' message continues to appear, contact Sage Customer Service.
LCD displays 'E05'
  • This indicates a problem that cannot be reset. Immediately unplug the power cord and contact Sage Customer Service.
Temperature changes when the Convection button is pressed.
  • This is normal. The temperature is calibrated to compensate for the increased cooking rate of the convection fan.

(1) If the goods are found to be defective, the consumer may:

  1. Declare their willingness to return the sold goods and withdraw from the contract.
  2. Retain the sold goods and request a reduction in the sale price proportional to the defect.
  3. If it does not require excessive cost, request the free repair of the sold goods at the seller's expense.
