Installing the Machine
Positioning the machine
When considering the location for the dishwasher, ensure that there is adequate space for loading and unloading dishes.
- Do not place the machine in locations where the ambient temperature can fall below 5°C.
- Before positioning, remove the machine from its packaging following the warnings on the package.
- Position the machine close to a water tap and drain. Ensure connections can be made without being altered later.
- Do not grip the machine by its door or panel to move it.
- Leave clearance on all sides for easy movement during cleaning.
- Ensure water inlet and outlet hoses are not squeezed. The machine should not stand on the electrical cable.
- Adjust the machine's feet to ensure it is level and stable. Proper positioning ensures the door opens and closes correctly.
- If the door does not close properly, check stability and adjust feet if necessary.
Water connection
Ensure indoor plumbing is suitable for a dishwasher and complies with AS/NZS 3500.1. It is recommended to fit a filter at the water supply entrance to prevent damage from contamination (sand, clay, rust) and avoid staining or deposit formation.
Water inlet hose
Use only the new water inlet hose supplied with the machine. Before connecting, ensure clean water is flowing from the tap. Connect the hose directly to the water inlet tap. The water pressure should be between 0.03 MPa (0.3 bar) and 1 MPa (10 bar). If pressure exceeds 1 MPa, install a pressure-relief valve.
⚠️ WARNING Only turn the locking nut to secure the hose; do not turn the hose itself.
- On first use, check for leaks.
- The water inlet hose has a safety valve and a sheath with an inner mains cable.
- After connections are made, turn on the tap fully and check for water tightness. Always turn off the water inlet tap after each wash program is finished.
⚠️ WARNING Aquastop inlet hose has 240V components. Do not cut, fold, twist, kink, or crush the Aquastop inlet hose.
⚠️ WARNING A water tempering valve is required if the water temperature is over 60°C.
? CAUTION Always use new hoses. Old hoses must not be used. Inspect the water inlet hose every twelve months for deterioration and replace if necessary.
An opening of at least 45mm x 90mm is needed to pass the safety valve through kitchen cabinets.
Water drain hose
The water drain hose can be connected directly to the water drain hole or to a sink outlet spigot. If using a hose hook, position it over the edge of the sink. This connection should be between a minimum of 50 cm and a maximum of 110 cm above the floor level.
If connecting to a trap spigot under the sink, remove the plastic membrane. Failure to do so can cause blockages. Ensure a hose clamp secures the hose to the spigot.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows the water drain hose connected to a sink trap, with an arrow pointing to the "Remove entire internal membrane" instruction.
⚠️ WARNING Maximum drain hose length is 4m. Longer hoses can prevent correct draining and result in poor wash performance.
Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates correct and incorrect drain hose installations, showing height requirements (min 1100mm, min 500mm, min 40mm) and the floor level.
Electrical Connection
The machine's plug must be connected to an earthed outlet supplying suitable voltage and current. If no earthing is installed, have a competent electrician carry out an earthing installation. The manufacturer is not responsible for any issues arising from usage without earthing.
- The indoor fuse current value should be 10-16 A.
- The machine is designed for 220-240 V. Do not plug it in during installation.
- Always use the supplied molded plug.
- Running in low voltage can degrade washing quality.
- The electrical cable must be replaced only by an authorised service agent or electrician to avoid accidents.
- For safety, always disconnect the plug when a wash program is finished.
- Do not unplug with wet hands to avoid electric shock.
- When disconnecting from the mains supply, always pull the plug, never the cord.
Fitting the machine undercounter
If fitting undercounter, check for sufficient space and suitable plumbing/wiring.
To ensure stability for underbench installation, if the underbench dimension is greater than 820mm, bridge any gap between the dishwasher and the benchtop underside with a packing piece (e.g., a piece of timber).
Diagram Description: A diagram shows a dishwasher being pushed under a countertop. It indicates dimensions (850-870mm height, 570mm depth, min 600mm width) and shows a timber piece for bridging gaps. It also shows adjusting machine feet with a screwdriver.
Preparing the Machine for Use
Prior to using the machine for the first time
- Check that electricity and water supply specifications match the installation instructions.
- Remove all packaging materials from inside the machine.
- Fill the rinse aid compartment.
Detergent usage
Use detergent specifically designed for domestic dishwashers (powder, gel, or tablet). Keep detergents in a cool, dry place out of reach of children. Do not overfill the detergent compartment, as it may etch glasses or leave undissolved detergent. For more information, contact detergent manufacturers directly.
Filling the detergent compartment
Push the latch to open the detergent container. The pod has level lines to measure the correct amount. The pod can take a maximum of 40cm³ detergent. For heavily soiled dishes, use 25cm³; for less soiled, use 15cm³. Adjust amount based on soil degree and water hardness.
If dishes have dried food waste or the dishwasher is fully loaded, pour 5cm³ detergent onto the base of the door and start the machine.
Combined detergent
Combined detergents (e.g., "2 in 1", "3 in 1") often contain detergent and rinse aid, or additional functions. Generally, they produce acceptable results under specific conditions.
Points to consider when using combined detergents:
- Always check product specifications.
- Use according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Never put combined detergents in the interior section or cutlery basket.
- Combined detergents may contain rinse-aid replacement substances.
- Not recommended for short programs; use powder detergent instead.
- If problems occur, contact the detergent manufacturer.
- When stopping use of combined detergents, ensure rinse aid setting is correct.
- For better results with combined detergents, add rinse aid and set the rinse aid to the lowest position.
The solubility of tablet detergents varies. They are not recommended for short programs; powder detergents and rinse aid are more suitable.
⚠️ WARNING Should any problem occur with these types of detergents, contact the detergent manufacturers directly.
Filling with rinse aid and setting
When you stop using combined detergents, fill the rinse aid compartments and select a suitable rinse aid setting.
To fill the rinse aid compartment, open the cap.
Diagram Description: An image shows the rinse aid compartment cap being opened and tilted.
Fill the compartment with rinse aid until the MAX level and close the cap. Be careful not to overfill and wipe up any spills.
Diagram Description: An image shows the rinse aid compartment being filled with liquid.
To set rinse aid level:
- Turn on the machine.
- Press the Program button for at least 3 seconds immediately after turning it on.
- Release the button when "rA" is shown. The last setting level will be displayed.
- Set the level by pushing the program button.
- Switch off the machine to save the setting.
The factory setting is "4".
If dishes are not drying properly or are spotted, increase the rinse-aid level. If blue stains form, decrease the level.
Level | Brightener Dose | Indicator |
---|---|---|
1 | Rinse-aid not dispensed | r1 is shown on the display. |
2 | 1 dose is dispensed | r2 is shown on the display. |
3 | 2 doses are dispensed | r3 is shown on the display. |
4 | 3 doses are dispensed | r4 is shown on the display. |
