Installation Guidelines

When installing this product, screws should reach the wood studs behind the plasterboard wall. Installation on a plasterboard wall is not recommended if screws and anchors are not secured in the wood studs.

Assembly

Step 1: Reversibility

This cabinet is up and down reversible.

[Diagram: Shows the cabinet in its standard orientation.]

Step 2: Reversibility

This instruction is drawn up for a door opening from left to right (see illustration A).

For an installation with a door opening from right to left (see illustration B), gently remove the shelves from the cabinet and reinstall them upside down.

[Diagram A: Shows the cabinet with the door opening to the right, with a close-up of shelf attachment points.]

[Diagram B: Shows the cabinet with the door opening to the left, with a close-up of shelf attachment points.]

Step 3: Installing Support Bars

Measure the height (H1) where the cabinet will be located. It is recommended to leave at least 9 inches [229 mm] clearance between the wall and the cabinet to ensure the full opening of the door.

Add 24-15/16 inches [634 mm] to height (H1). This calculated measure is the distance from the bottom of the support bar to the floor, as illustrated. Mark the bottom position of the support bar on the wall.

[Diagram: Shows height measurement H1 and the calculation H = H1 + 24-15/16" [634]. Also shows a support bar labeled and a measurement of 9" [229] clearance.]

Step 4: Installing Support Bars

Using a stud finder or equivalent tool, locate at least one wall stud and mark its positions on the wall for each support bar (A). While holding the support bar (A) in position against the wall, check that it is level, then mark 4 positions for 4 holes as indicated. One of the holes must be right over the wall stud.

[Diagram: Shows a support bar (A) being held against a wall, with marks for drilling. A close-up shows a 1" [25mm] measurement for hole placement on the support bar.]

Step 5: Installing Support Bars

Keep the support bars in position, then drill pilot holes on the wall through the support bar (A) at the marked positions using a ø1/8" (2.5mm) drill bit.

[Diagram: Shows drilling pilot holes through support bar (A) with a ø1/8" (2.5mm) drill bit.]

Step 6: Installing Support Bars

Except for the holes that are over the stud, drill the existing holes on the wall using a ø5/16" (8mm) drill bit and insert the wall anchors (B) into the holes using a rubber mallet until the wall anchors are flush with the wall.

[Diagram: Shows drilling larger holes for anchors and inserting wall anchors (B) with a rubber mallet.]

Step 7: Installing Support Bars

Replace and secure the support bar (A) with screws (C).

[Diagram: Shows securing the support bar (A) with screws (C).]

Step 8: Hang on the Cabinet

Gently hang the cabinet on the support bar (A).

[Diagram: Shows the cabinet being hung onto the installed support bar (A).]

Step 9: Securing the Cabinet

Open the door, measure and mark two holes. One of the holes must be right over the wall studs, respectively from the back of the cabinet. Make sure the two holes avoid the existing screws behind the cabinet at the indicated locations as shown below.

[Diagram: Shows measuring and marking two holes on the back of the cabinet, indicating a distance of 1-3/8" [35mm] from the top.]

Step 10: Securing the Cabinet

Drill pilot holes on the wall through the back of the cabinet as well as the support bar at the marked locations using a ø1/8" (2.5mm) drill bit.

[Diagram: Shows drilling pilot holes through the cabinet back and support bar.]

Step 11: Securing the Cabinet

Replace and secure the cabinet with screws (C) through the pilot holes.
