OS Upgrade Guide
Upgrading OS with a USB drive
- Press the Home button on your TV remote and access the sidebar menu. Navigate to Setting > All setting > Support > About TV and check the Model Code and Software Version of your TV.
The 'About TV' screen displays product information including Model Code, Serial Number, Software Version, Status Code, and Sub-micom Version. Options to 'Open Source License', 'QR Code', and 'Close' are also available.
- Go to Samsung.com > Support > Manual & Download, and search for your Samsung TV Model Code.
The Samsung website allows users to find and download manuals, guides, software, or instructions for their products. Users can enter their model code (e.g., Flip4, 55 inch tv, air conditioner, QE50Q65AAU) or select a product category such as Mobile, TV & AV, Home Appliance, PC & Office, or Displays.
Software Update Requirement
Before upgrading your OS, ensure your TV's software is updated to the latest version. If your TV's current Software version is lower than the available 'Upgrade File (USB Type)', you must first update your TV by downloading the upgrade file.

Performing the OS Upgrade
Once the latest software is installed on your TV, you can proceed with the OS upgrade. Go to Firmware to download the OS Upgrade File (USB Type) and begin the upgrade.

If multiple OS upgrade files are available, perform the upgrades in order from the lowest to the highest version.
Refer to Appendix 1 for instructions on how to download the OS upgrade file and save it to a USB device.
After upgrading to a new OS, you cannot revert to the previous version.
Step-by-Step Upgrade Process
Save the downloaded OS upgrade file to a USB device, and connect it to the USB port on your TV to begin the upgrade.
1) Connect the USB device containing the downloaded OS upgrade file into your TV's USB port.
2) Press the Home button on your TV remote to access the sidebar menu. Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Update Now.
3) Search the connected USB device for update files. A prompt will ask: 'Do you want to search the connected USB device for update files?' Select 'Yes'.
4) Select 'Upgrade Now'. A message will appear stating: 'The upgrade will take over 10 minutes. Your product will turn off and on automatically.' Select 'Upgrade Now'.
5) OS Upgrade is in progress. The screen will show 'Preparing. Please wait a moment.' with a progress indicator.
6) Select 'Get Started' after the upgrade is complete. The screen will display 'Welcome to One UI' and information about security and content availability.
Important Notes:
- Do not turn off the TV or remove the USB device until the upgrade is complete.
- The upgrade will take at least 10 minutes to complete, and the TV will restart automatically once completed.
- If multiple OS upgrade files are available, perform the upgrades in order, starting from the lowest version, and repeat the steps above for each upgrade.
Appendix 1: How to Download a File and Save it to a USB Device
Download a software update file or OS upgrade file, then locate and unzip it.
Downloading Files:
- Download a software update file: Shows a file explorer window with a downloaded zip file named 'T-OSCPCAKUC.zip' in the 'Downloads' folder.
- Download an OS upgrade file: Shows a file explorer window with a downloaded zip file named 'T-OSCPCAKUC-0080.zip' in the 'Downloads' folder.
Connect a USB device to your PC, and save the unzipped files to the USB device. Save the update files in the top-level folder, which is the first folder that you see when you select the USB device. If you place them in subfolders, they will not be accessible by the TV.
Top-level folder for software upgrade: Shows a USB drive with a folder 'T-OSCPCAKUC' containing an 'image' folder and the file 'T-OSCPCAKUC'.
Top-level folder for OS upgrade: Shows a USB drive with a folder 'T-OSCPCAKUC-0080' containing an 'image' folder and the file 'T-OSCPCAKUC-0080'.
Note: The names of the file and folder may vary depending on the model.
Appendix 2: How to Update a Software
Save the downloaded software file to a USB device, and connect it to the USB port on your TV to begin the update.
1) Save the downloaded software file to a USB device, and connect it to the USB port on your TV.
2) Press the home button on your TV remote to access the sidebar menu. Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Update Now.
3) Search the connected USB device for update files. A prompt will ask: 'Browse Files on USB Flash Drive. Do you want to search the connected USB device for update files?' Select 'Yes'.
4) Select 'Yes' to update the software to the latest version. A prompt will appear: 'A new software version is available. Update from version [current] to version [new]?'
Important Notes:
- Do not turn off the TV or remove the USB device until the update is complete.
- The TV will restart automatically once the update is complete.
- It is recommended to document your current video and audio settings before updating, as they may be reset to their default configurations during the update.
